as a nuggets fan it’s genuinely so jarring to hear people complain about the refing AGAINST the Lakers, like the free throw diff in the last 10 games isn’t bigger then Richard’s forehead
Honestly I didn't see the swipe to the face until everyone brought it up. They called a foul based on perceived contact earlier in the shooting motion(which was overturned) and I only paid attention to if DLo's shot was affected by a foul. It wasn't. But then there was incidental contact after the shot was taken. Idk y ppl think that was an automatic Reversal when the replay center was looking at something else to begin with
Entitlement of the Lakers fans is unbelievable, it's almost a blindness!!! Jokic gets fouled on every second possession, yet no one sees it!!! But, with fair whistle, there would be 3 blowouts and one close game, and nobody watches those kind of games/ commercials during it.
If the referees continue to give free throws to the Lakers every time, then there will be a lawsuit from Denver against the referee commission, if necessary all the way to the Supreme Court!!! Playoffs lakers nuggets FT 2023 FT game 1 26:22 for lakers FT game 2 26:18 for lakers FT game 3 29:19 for lakers FT game 4 26:22 for lakers Playoffs Lakers nuggets FT 2024 FT game 1 19:6 for lakers FT game 2 17:13 for denver The NBA should finally stop manipulating the games for the Lakers with their free throws. Every game the Lakers have 10 to 20 free throws more. You should be ashamed of yourself in the NBA!!!
Lmfao jarring bro AD gets tackled no call Murray gets touch barley by lebron foul which was suppose to be a take foul somehow they got in the bonus to tie the game lmfao definitely on the refs dawg let yall literally back in the game smh!
I saw insane stats about the number of wide open threes the nuggets missed. This was not Lakers defense, they are not holding them to those low points on their home court - Denver was beating themselves for the most part. Even with those historic low shooting averages from Denver they still won. This is the Nuggets to lose not the Lakers to win. People over here talkin about that "call from the ref" and the "missed Lebron 3" and the "rui layup" without ever fuckin even mentioning that none of that would have even matter if the Nuggets were shooting anywhere near their season averages..... on GOOD LOOKS. I also saw a sick Jokic centaur shirt on Etsy just now you guys go look there.
He’s expected to be at a dpoy level against one of the best offensive players of all time and also lead the scoring on the lakers, I think anyone would be tired, especially a 7ft guy.
People start Jamal’s impressiveness at the bubble like in his first playoff run the year before he didn’t save them in Game 2 or 3 against the Spurs, and went toe to toe with CJ in an overtime game 7 of the western conference semi’s… Denver has BEEN like that
People assume athleticism is just jumping higher or run faster when they say Luka and Jokic arent athletic. But conditioning,in nba game,is as much important
And balance is a part of athleticism that is always overlooked. An athlete who is always or almost always on balance is imo more important then a guy who can run super fast or jump high but isn’t able to stay balanced or coordinated when taking contact or even making those fast movements.
I'm a Nuggets fan and the Nuggets fans in here saying there's disrespect on this podcast is crazy. They just said he's on track to be better than KD and Channing said straight up he'd take Jokic to start a team. All of them were complementary. That was last year. There's no hate here. Relax.
So funny this panel discussing who will have a better legacy between kd or jokic...jokic has already surpassed kd even if he retires at the end of this season..jokic will certainly win his 3rd MVP and probably wins his second finals MVP and second chip..and even if he fails to do so...jokic legacy with three MVPs, his triple doubles, his efficiency are enough to put him ahead of kd..
The AG switch worked because the Lakers kept trying to attack Jokic regardless of who he was guarding. They matchup hunt too much. That said, AG did a good job on AD too.
@@keepscrolling6042 You could say that but you also got to take into account that it wasn't JUST gordon guarding him. Jokic was always ready to help as he didn't give a shit about Rui's bum ass on the corner
Another point re: the Jokic/Luka/Ant defensive expectations discussion. If Jokic or Luka foul out, their teams are dead against any serious opponent. Like you said earlier, Jokic is the system, the heart, the brain of the Nuggets offense. He CAN'T play defense aggressively because he cannot afford to give up fouls the way Ant can. Ant is a powerful offensive weapon the Timberwolves have, but if he's gone, they can still function. The Mavs can still function without Luka because Kyrie can fill that role. There isn't a backup Jokic. He doesn't exist yet.
😂 the nuggets can function without jokic just as much as Dallas can function without Luka they got Murray mpj Gordon kcp Reggie Jackson that's still a really good team .
Against the Lakers, the Nugs are toast without Jokic. More so for his playmaking than his scoring. Jokic makes AG, MPJ, and KCP lethal. Take Jokic out of the mix and the Nugs get infinitely easier to defend (the Lakers are playing good defense against them even with Jokic) and they have NO answer for AD and a Bron that doesn’t have to worry about Joker in the paint. FOH.
So tired of hearing all the crying about the foul on dlo. Jokers shoulders and arms bruised and bleeding, getting beat up all the time. He should be shooting Mailman free throw attempts every game.
It isn't just that the wings on the Wolves can put all that pressure on offensive players. It is also that players like Edwards, McDaniels and to a lesser extent NAW are all good weakside help defenders. Especially McDaniels. That allows Rudy to step out and defend on the perimeter more knowing he can trust those guys to make plays at the rim.
With +700 FT diff over the next team? Crazy to bring it up. Like Manson saying "we really need to check into these serial killers, they're getting crazy! What is the Justice system even for?" 😂
Y’all don’t get what LeBron was saying. He did not say the refs caused them the game. He said how do you review a foul where someone got hit in the face and overturned turn it?
@@tycharles241that’s besides the point. Question is how did you let a 20 point lead vanish? That was some lame thing to bring up. Not that he is not right but you lame to bring it up. If they had been down 20 all game and as they are discounting THAT happens…yeah I would accept that.
The foul every laker fan is “confused about” : DLo gets hit in the head by Porter AFTER the foul they called happened. They were looking at the “push” on the hip of DLo. NOT the head hit. That was the “marginal call” they were looking at. And THAT happened BEFFORE the head hit. Think about it. Does a shot count after a “on the floor” foul? No, because the whistle blew on the FOUL thereby ending the play. Anything short of a flagrant punch in the face after the play is over DOESNT MATTER.
Questions for RJ: How come LA has 19-6 ft in the first game, Denver 0 ft in the second half?! It must be some kind of record, Joker scored 26 points in the paint, 2 ft only?!! How come LBJ pushes KCP and gets no call!? How come LA in the last 2 years has 40% more FT than the next team after them, Denver is farrrr beyond?
Interesting Lakers facts below: 1. Did you know the Lakers free throw differential over the last two seasons is well over +1000 more free throws than their opponents? They lead the league in that category. The second place team doesn't even crack +350 the Knicks!! 2. Did you know that if you combined the free throw differential of the teams in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place the Lakers would still have a comfortable lead over that team? 3. Did you know that the Lakers have shot more free throws than their opponent's in 19 out of the last 20 games? The one game they shot less was by 4 free throws. 4. Did you know that during a recent game where the Lakers played the Timberwolves they shot 31 free throws to Minnesota's 11? This was a game Lebron missed and Anthony Davis sat for 3 and a half quarters due to injury. 5. Did you know the league outright attempting and succeeding to rig games in the Lakers favor?
@@micatrsic8762 1. Did you know that you that you completely ignored what I said in order to push an agenda? Everyone complains about the calls but I don’t see the arguments of the calls being incorrect. 2. Did you know that the Orlando Magic actually attempted the most free throws per game in the league this past season at a rate of 24.4? Lakers were second at 24.2. The 10th rated Jazz shot 22.6 per game for context. 3. Did you know that the Lakers are in the bottom 3 for 3pt shots attempted in a 3pt shooting league? It’s like maybe they prioritize actions that lead to points in the paint and getting to the line? 4. Did you know that the Lakers foul the least per game? This makes sense when you look at how good their interior defense with AD is compared to their poor perimeter defense. Most teams go for 3’s and jump shots which they don’t defend well. So, naturally it’s not often that the Lakers foul open jump shooters. 5. And also, did you know that your last “fact” isn’t a statistical a proven fact, it’s an opinion.
Thats not the argument. other teams are not getting the SAME calls. The nuggets in 10 wins versus the lakers DOMINATE wirh unside pts. Yet playing a physical inside game, they have 600 less free throws than the lakers. The argument is refs favor giving lebron the superstar calls, but no other team.
@@richardphan1182 I addressed this in my reply to the original comment but it didn’t post so I’m not typing it again. Not that superstar treatment isn’t a thing, but you’re both talking about narrative without context. Player personnel and style of play weighs heavily in this matter. Lakers have an elite rim protector in AD, other teams shoot more 3’s while the Lakers operate more in the paint, and they didn’t even average the most free throws this past season. That was Orlando. Lakers were 2nd with 24.2 per game while the Jazz were 22.6 were at 10th, for context. So naturally they are going to take more free throws against most teams. They get to the line more than 28 other teams so the numbers add up, and they mainly score in paint offensively while prioritizing protecting the paint defensively. You can blame the refs if you want, but my point still stands. No one complaining is saying that the fouls on the Lakers are not fouls. Superstar’s treatment plays a part, but there are logical more basketball minded reasons for the disparity.
It's mindboggling how self appointed "analysts" can be so functionally illiterate about the rules of the game they're supposed to be experts on. The foul was called for the contact on the drive, previous to the shot, so that was the call that got to be reviewed. The referee was very clear when talking about it while explaining the result of the challenge - they were looking into the contact MPJ made with the arm on the drive, before the shot. The ANNOUNCERS were talking about the hit on the head, because they also seemingly have no clue about the actual rules of reviews - the referees never mentioned the hit to the face, only the hook on the arm. If, for example, something happened BEFORE the call, like if MPJ had made another, previous contact or another player had fouled D-Lo before that, then they could have acknoweleged it and changed the call to this other, previous foul, because of the causation chain. But not one after. Per review rules they cannot change a "no call" that happened after the actual call they're reviewing, so it doesn't matter if MPJ did hit D-Lo on the face - those are the freaking rules. So complain with the NBA if you want, but it was the right call, as MPJ barely touched D-LO on the play that was actually called, before the follow up hit to the head. And that's why Malone challenged the call - he's not as stupid as the hosts of this show. All that without mentioning how preposterous it is to focus on ONE call and use it as an excuse when the team squandered a 20 point lead and there were several bad calls or no calls on both sides thru the whole game.
Lebron chose to walk the ball up the entire second half, a thing he’s always done in the playoffs. He chose to hunt jokic but Malone adjusted to put him on rui, which took AD out of the action. That’s entirely on Lebron and ham for not recognizing and adjusting on the fly. Bron did a poor job not seeing that. Malone outcoached both of them.
Rudy Gobert most overrated my ass. I watched a bunch of T-wolves games this year and Most of the time when players drive into the paint and Gobert is there, they get scared like a little coward and say "nevermind" only to pass back out because they know it will get blocked.
I read Chess match where? Maybe in the next round but this round you can bring out the broom. Just call a spade a spade it's over the King can start his crying early
I don’t get why everyone sleeping on OKC, Thunders are an absolute Contender, only the nuggets will give them trouble. They will run through everyone else.
The Gordon switch mattered not because ad was stopped by Gordon. But bc lebron was mismatch hunting jokic. When jokic was on hachimura they stopped running lebron ad pick n roll. So it mattered. That’s why ad stopped getting touches
Jokić Is revolutionise Game and low key saving NBA ..you Can see subtle shift across league..like destroying Media narativne, nepotisam, granted priviligies ect . you see more players do effort and plays Game as team..it Is so subtle
No the league just allowing more physical play and the teams are becoming more mature 4-5 years ago they're were more young teams less experienced teams now they'res more experience team and more teams for a shot to win it all not just Denver .
@@diegochavez6203 not really less JA Zion coming the usual..but ok you will get picture eventualy...with Lebron leaving you will see increase in travellibg calls..nowdays embiids lebrons Are cancer
I know Lebron is still awesome and technically in the league rn, but the one thing I will say is there is a massive gap between Lebron now and Lebron from his time in Miami to the end of his time in Cleveland. Jok and Giannis don’t quite have a juggernaut like THAT to have to win over. They ARE this generation’s juggernauts. I’m not necessarily taking a stand on either side there, but however you want to argue that is how u take it
I hate how people keep putting people against... Durant's legacy is defined by those he has impacted for the better... Jokic legacy is impacted by those he's positively affected Fuck a team sport... it doesn't tell you anything about a person... just look at all these successful Hollywood business people... Please stop with the silly ass individual comparisons in a TEAM sport
Look at the free throws Denver and LA got in game 1 vs game 2. Are we really supposed to believe that LA's play style changed so much? If we're going to highlight this bad call vs DLo, are we not going to also look at missed calls that went in the Lakers favor in game 2? Are we really going to say there wasn't even one? Bad calls are part of the game. Missed calls are part of the game. Contrast Malone's response to the Nuggets not getting a single free throw in the second half of game 1, "yeah that's weird but we'll win without them" with Ham and Lebron's. The lack of serious conversation about the statistical impossibility of the Lakers' free throw advantage in the media is crazy. At the very least, y'all should be trying to explain what it is about the Lakers' play that's causing that.
If I were AD id be pissed. I blew up my team to come to LA alongside LeBron. You basically get made into the Robin to an aging Batman. Even after a chip four years ago they won't go to you in crunch time in the 4th because Batman over there gotta get his numbers up. Davis would do better elsewhere outside the Lakers bubble. Send Lavine and Ball to LA and pair up AD back home with the Bulls. Davis, DeRozen, Caruso, White, Drummond, not a bad starting 5, and you can be the top star
The play type Richards comment about the marginal contact thing with the ball already gone is consistent with how Steph has been reffed for years. Both at the rim and on 3’s. And he’s Steph Curry. Happens all the time with him, including after reviews and protests. 🤷♂️
I have a Question Guys: I am not Nuggets fan but my Q is Did nba officially banned Jamal Muray not to be part of any NBA All Star games? Cos no body believe this dude never been All Star.
i think generally a hit to the face would not be marginal contact, but in that particular case, it just wasn't much.... meaning the contact itself was very light, he grazed him... maybe that's why the called it that way.... and let me ask you this question, if that same exact contact happened to his rib or back would anyone think it's a foul?.... no... none of us would (unless it's lebron or embiid, in that case, just existing somewhere next to them is a foul)
@roadtrippin Damn man! I’m in my car with my 10year old daughter!! I thought I was going to hear some good sports take and the first thing I hear is vulgar language! RU-vid algorithm suggested you all…I’m good.
