Nuggs are a 15 win team w/o him playing and a 66 win team with Jokic playing. Contributes 51 additional wins this season when playing. No other player came close. IMPACTFUL Leads NBA in Win Shares; Box +/-; and Player Impact Estimate. Averages ~ 50 points generated per game & has various ways of impacting the game. @dariusdragomir9414 he means just Jokic. No other all-stars. Didn't have to run to another superstar to get it done. The Nuggets just dominated their way to a title and are favored for another....with ONE all-star on the team. That's almost unheard of in league history...except with Jokic.

its understandable to view celtics as a unstoppable force with brown, tatum and the unicorn. But denver feels different. 20pt laker advantage and it felt like the playing field just is now even but denver aint losing.

Take a look at the On/Off metrics, which indicate how the team performs when the player in question is playing vs when he is not playing. Jokic is once again head & shoulders above everyone else in NBA. He is literally in a league of his own when it comes to so many stats & metrics. No one else comes even close. Without Jokic, Nuggets are a 15 win team; while with Jokic playing, they are a 66 win team. When Nikola plays, the Nuggets are set to record 51 additional wins this season.. W/o Jokic, they are a 15 win team. With Jokic, they are a 66 win team. Luka & SGA contribute around 30 additional wins for their teams. Giannis is in 2nd place, with roughly 39 more wins for the Bucks.

If you can’t see spectacular plays every game with Nikola you don’t understand basketball enough to see the intangibles he’s incomparable at. He plays more shoots more efficiently and raises his teammates game more than anyone I’ve watched. Clearly he’s fun to watch if you enjoy basketball greatness

That's what he said. A casual that follow hype (big dunks and athletism) will never like watching Jokic. I consider myself a casual as well, but I've always preferred unselfish players that play with high IQ in all sports that I watch during my 42 year old life. So when I started following the NBA(After I noticed I could watch it again in the Netherlands) at the start of previous season I eventually ended up cheering for Denver because of the way they play and Jokic. Eventually it turned out I made a nice pick as they won the title. I try to stay objective though and just enjoy basketball, but I allready noticed that when Denver loses or wins it affects my mood :D

They made it ugly last year for a participation trophy, maybe if they whine for Emplead he can get to the ECF someday.(I hate the racial argument BS, but it happened and it does need to be remembered as it happened so the league learns a lesson.)

Last year Jokic should've won MVP in my opinion, but Embiid was my favourite for MVP this year until his injury. He was truly unstoppable.

Jokic has led the league in AT LEAST 7 advanced stats 4 consecutive seasons so far. That rhymes MJ's and LeBron's peaks. LeBron did it 5 total seasons (consecutively too) and MJ 9 total (7 consecutively). Jokic is in a stratosphere with very few all-time peers.

Some of the underlying facts are INSANE about those stats. For example, Offensive Box Puls/Minus, 3 of those 4 years are top 10 seasons in NBA history. Total Box Plus/Minus, those 4 years are 4 of the top 6(!) seasons of all-time. It's crazy the impact he has on the court.

The people that say Jokic doesnt deserve this years mvp dont watch nuggets basketball. His stats dont show the whole story/impact of what he does with his team. Only advanced stats will tell you the whole story, theres a reason why hes 1st by a long shot on advanced stats.

Jokic is what a team basketball player should be, and without him where are the Nuggets? My guess would be Las Vegas. There haven't been guys like that who excel as an individual as well, he's been the best and seems like that will continue.

Despite the Nuggets being terrible for years, they weren't that bad in attendance. Denver is a sports town when the Broncos held the consecutive sellout record in the NFL until recently when Bowlens blew up Pat's franchise. The Avalanche held the consecutive sellout streak in the NHL for almost 20 years. The Rockies despite being a doormat still is usually in top 15 for tickets sold each year. Rapids were one of the most popular MLS franchises, and got their own stadium for it. Both lacrosse(indoor/outdoor)teams had attendance records in their leagues. Also the Nuggets and Avalanche have been owned by the same person for a long time, and wouldn't be likely to split up.

not just vote for JOKIC..they voted for SGA who wasnt near LUKA...i get it if NBA wants to vote for JOKIC...but LUKA has done something never done and his stats were amazing..so there can only be 2 choices.. JOKIC by his dominance the entire year or LUKA... But now they are changing the narratives every week. SGA was already making this stats last season when they missed the play-offs and SGA finished 5th in the MVP...what change? he got worse stats, the difference was CHET and WILLIAMS a great team, SGA hasnt done anything special...scoring 30 points isnt impressive in a ERA with games ending with 130 points. LUKA averages 4 more points..so thats basically comparing someone who averaged 26 points to SGA... AND the fact that they keep forgetting LUKA finished 2nd in assists 7th in steals and that only had 6 less wins...they talk like 1st seed is the most important thing...MAVS 5th with the same wins as 2nd seed in the EAST. AND DIDNT JOKIC got the 1st seed last season...And they gave it to Mr 43 wins EMBIID (yes 43 wins) his team won the rest.

Its interesting when you look at college hoops and the audenice size between mens and womens NCAA tournaments and then realize that the womens game is more pure basketball as a team sport, the mens is more ISO dominant. Now the NBA you see a boost in viewership this year, because the leagues best player is playing more of a team style of basketball that many non basketball fans enjoy more. ISO is entertaining but only while that star is balling, team basketball is always entertaining and will help the league grow as the "diva syndrome" is cured. (For the record Shai will get his in time, but idk if he gets 3 like Jokic. Or 4 in a row like Jokic deserved last year into this year.)

i haven't watched much ball in the past 20 years, but Jokic got me back into it. He's so fun to watch even though he rarely dunks. there's no poster shots with him. Just amazing passes and always keeps the defense flatfooted as to what he's going to do. Slowest unguardable player ever. lol

Hey Dan the NBA would do itself a lot of favors if it created a couple of other awards such as an Offensive Player of the Year Award, as well as Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year Awards…and then they should consider including the playoffs into the calculation for the MVP and award it after the 2nd round so it automatically pushes out guys who the media discredits because they don’t make deep playoff runs…we’re already making that calculation anyway might as well make it official

Dan being surprised about this is comical. USA Today ran a story talking about the significance a non-white athlete being the face of the league for women’s hoops. You also had Kendrick Perkins, Gilbert Arenas making it a point to dismiss white players as a whole. White guys and gals need to be supporting cast players, not the main attraction - signed, The Media.

Jokic had already made WCF,& had much better playoff stats than Embied-BEFORE his historic,title run last yr.Hes winning in a landslide this yr,& Luka SHOULD be 2nd. Luka,& Shai will wins MVPs -but OKC won that 1 seed on a tiebreaker-determined by our last matchup in OKC-where Jokic didn't play,SGA did...& OKC pulled it out in the final minute.

Maybe just tell the truth: it's because Nikola doesn't have the right skin tone. "They" have to knock him down because of their hate for his skin tone. 😢 I'm a European person and when I grew up all my favorite players had darker skin than me but that's not why I liked them; i liked them because they were incredible basketball players.

Winner of efficiency stats such as PER/WS/VORP/BPM for 4 consecutive seasons, The Denver Nuggets have 3rd worst bench in the league; Jamal Murray missed 20 games; Still, the most win in the Western Conference(=okc) Jokic, who has the most overwhelming on-off margin in the league, Luka fans never mention this. They are only talking about PTS/AST/REB~ he is alone~~

Most people don’t give a crap about MVP. It would be different back in the day when you had a Larry Bird/Magic or MJ/Charles Barkley. Just dominant stand out players and scorers. But today so many guys are having an impact either by shooting the ball like Steph or by post/slasher like Giannis, Embiid or Joker. There’s so much scoring today that one or two rulers of the league just aren’t here anymore. It’s less dramatic and more just about total stats and impact on winning. And that right now is Joker.

Who are these names to vote a player as MVP, how’s about exposing there names, faces and history of there votings. If there’s any hint of favoritism amongst these MVP voters, then they definitely need to be reprimanded and removed. This is putting such a blemish on the NBA because instead of enjoying the sport, we’re all lolly gagging, pointing fingers, getting disgusted over this. May the better team win this years NBA championship and last we saw, the Denver Nuggets won it all last season and unless you’ve been under a rock, They’ve been playing as the favorites to repeat.

Well, I see this comment a lot and I don't think it's malicious or bad at all where DP says Joker is boring or whatever . What DP is saying that if you are a basketball purist or actual basketball fan you love Joker but if you're like a regular dude watching Joker how hard can a bounce pass really be even I could do that sort of thing. Unlike say a Steph Curry or a Lebron James that sometimes feel unhuman or superheroish that makes even casual viewers say oh they're great. Joker's greatness is subtle therefore unappreciated but just by merely watching cause you need to know and understand.

Can't say Jokic hadn't done anything in the playoffs when Denver had already made the WCF. Then Murray missed 2 playoffs with the ACL, Barton was out one, MPJ was out in '22. Let's see Giannis win in the playoffs with no Middleton & Holiday. What will SGA do if Williams & Chet go out?
