Where is the Nuggets talk? Lebron got swept, period. Talk about Denver, please! Jesus. Tired of everyone and everry time u guys talk about Lakers and Lebron. Lakers is a inferior team and people's love for Lebron, blind them to the point of make them believe that he could win it all. He got sweept. Let's enjoy the Joker and the Nuggets.
This girl has a problem with logic. The Suns weren’t in the conference finals … because they played the Nuggets! And they had to play them in an earlier round. Yet they competed and got two games. Even the T Wolves got a game and were really close to winning another one behind Anthony Edwards. Lakers happened to luck out with the seeding and faced two teams that were a kind of a mess internally, and also bad matchups because they lacked size and depth due to injury or other circumstances. Lakers were literally the worst matchup for the Warriors (besides Denver) in the whole West. Lakers won by just being in the playoffs and being competitive and turning their horrible season around. But to the guys point … a sweep is always going to stand-out as an especially embarrassing outcome. I don’t think it’s too bad, though. The context of the games … they were all close and hard fought. They never rolled over and showed their belly like Boston has a couple of times vs the Heat. To me … Boston has been way more embarrassing, and they didn’t even get swept.
The fact that we're having this segment and not talking about the Nuggets proves Mike Malone's point about the media's narrative fixation with big market teams like the Celtics and Lakers.
@@tedgraham6548 Jamal Murry is one of the most entertaining players in the world. Joker is the best player in the world. To you (a casual) smaller market = boring. Stop making statements that ppl who don’t know ball would make 😂
I would say your right but guess what when kobe bryant went 17-65 an drop 60’in his last game thats all they talked about but guess what happened that same day an got swept under the rug GOLDEN STATE WON THEY 73rd game an nobody’ said anything
As knicks fan, kd/book won 2 games vs nuggets and every fanboy was callin them out, If lebron won - Give him all the credit When he loses - blame his age and completely contradict everything y’all been saying about his “insane longevity”
@@eimajvl Not true. The Lakers were a newly assembled play-in team that played playoff ball for months before the playoffs, reached the WCF but lost to a team majorly constructed four years previously & lost 4 games by only 24 points...Lakers put up a formidable fight.
Hey Acho, LeBron has far from an immaculate resumè. He is 1-3 vs Curry and The Warriors and 1-2 vs Duncan and The Spurs. 4-6 losing record on the Finals while in a softer Eastern Conference!! It's a HUGE deal!!!
Remember Denver being bashed for being swept by PHX 2 years ago?? Everybody forgot it was second round, after beating Portland and being without Jamal Murray. Either way, it was used as huge dissadvantage of Jokic in MVP debate.
Getting swept is basically a sign that you didn’t really belong there, I remember when warriors swept blazers in 2019, ppl were literally saying warriors would’ve had a tougher time with any other team other than the blazers, same thing with cavs sweeping raptors, ppl knew there were teams that would’ve put up a better fight than raptors against cavs, football is the same way, giants made the playoffs but ppl knew teams like Detroit would’ve been a way better matchup in the playoffs ish happens sometimes, same thing with warriors beating Boston last year, ppl say bucks would’ve beat warriors if they made it to the finals
when you get swept and you lose by2-5 points 3/4 games then it definetly means you belong more then one flukey win shooting 50% from three. if dlo was a auseful pg this is a real series but oh well.
For the record this is the same logic people use for Lebron and the 6 finals losses.. somehow its better to lose in the round before the finals than it is to lose IN the finals 😂😂 this is the path we are headed.. somehow now losing in the WCF is worse than losing in the first 2 rounds 😂😂
Exactly lol they can’t make up their mind when it comes to him , no matter what he does if it doesn’t end with him winning a ring AND being finals mvp EVERY YEAR! it hurts his legacy
@@gr3415 Bron stans are the ones who move the goalpost. When he wins, it's all Lebron. When he loses, it's either he didn't have enough help OR the other team was just better. Been hearing the same nonsense his entire career.
MJ had to wait till the bad boy pistons aged out before he could win and come into his prime; then he soured his skill with the wizards for sure. Nuff said
11:07 Thank God for this man right here. No offense to Ric Bucher and Joy Taylor, but it’s the non-athletes that will never understand the humiliation of being on the stage and being humiliated. YES, it’s much better to not be on the stage than to walk on the stage and get 4 eggs thrown in your face.
Plus, what Shady is talking about is not being competitive, it's being anti-competitive. He'd rather lose sooner to avoid the appearance of a sweep than win more if it means embarrassment at the end. That's not a competitive spirit at all.
HE WANTS TO GO OUT SWINGING!! Round one Second round Conference Finals Finals NOBODY should want to be swept!! "Superstar player gonna get you one" is the known narrative - MIN got 1, PHX got TWO!!! Buffalo Bills are known mote for LOSING for straight Superbowls than "winning 4 straight AFC titles". Those teams thar didn't make the Superbowl were long forgotten... Bills are STILL "a joke", even though some FRANCHISES have NEVER made the Superbowl...
@Darren Gordon-Hill Man... do you think anyone goes out there and says I hope we get swept?! You and shady sound shady and silly!!! LeBron did all he could do, but if they would've eeked out one more win and lost 5- 1, that ain't no better like that goofy talking bout at least get one... obviously, Denver was just the better team in this series, but to say he'd rather lose in the first round 6-2 cause he got a win in loser talk!! Ask any competitive bball or baseball or hockey player would they rather lose in the first round by any number or get swept in the conference finals and the first answer will be I'd rather win em all, then the next would be if that team is better than mine, I'd take the sweep cause at least we'd are it that far and then maybe next year we can go all the way!! And can't talk much anyhow cause he got two participation rings, cause he sho didn't compete to win em!!
Lebron has avoided heat in the past because he was on the Cavs and Heat but when you are on the Lakers you are going to catch it when the team comes up short.
And that's the biggest problem. You're talking the Warriors woulda, shoulda, coulda atleast one. Reality is, the Warriors didn't make the WCF, so we really don't know. 🤷🏾♂️
The reality is.... the Lakers didn't win, not one game!....Minnesota won one.... the Suns won two....I think the logical safe bet is that the Warriors would've one at least one game if not two....
Factz we all know they would have won the reason warriors lost was AD we didn’t have the speed n quickness to match him wiseman would have definitely helped a lot like we know what happen Ad rebounded n played better than Lonny and curry was alone klay was cold pool was still mad bout getting beat up by dray the whole team was off curry was tryna hold it together but lakers had to much size with lebron but nuggets got size n joker who can stop AD
You play who you play, when you play them. Doesnt matter what round it is - the Nuggets were the team to beat. If the Lakers somehow matched up with the Nuggets in round 1 and lost there, it would be the same results. Joy is giving the Lakers extra credit simply because they didnt get matched up with the Nuggets until the WCF.
Checking this out 4 months later. AD and AR 15 led the Lakers into the playoffs while LeBron was nursing a foot injury. He said, as he often does, that the 23 games left in the season were the "most important in his career" and then went down with an injury. He was barely in that drive to get to 7th place. The way those two series playoff went was that AD would have a fantastic game and then a mediocre one. Every time he was off the Lakers would lose. He got blamed for being inconsistent whereas LeBron was excused for not playing well "because of his injury." AD and AR didn't really have "off nights" vs Denver. What really happened game after game was that LeBron choked in clutch situations when the game was very close in under 1 minute left. These are the same types of situations wherein true greats, Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Bird etc would come through and either tie or win the game. LeBron's legacy is surely less important than the Nuggets big victory. What is obnoxious however is that the sports media still insists upon framing every element of the modern NBA in the context of "LeBron's Legacy". At this point in season 21 he is clearly past his prime. His legacy has already come and gone. If he wants to keep playing, fine, but the sport has to continue beyond LeBron's career. The new younger great players are the future. If AD (no spring chicken) and AR 15 (A very good but as of yet not great guard) can play the way they did last year, or even better, the Lakers may be in it again. That remains to be seen. LeBron will not be the main factor. Those days are over.
As a Lakers fans, a sweep is a sweep. Despite being competitve, we still lost. But just reminding people to be consistent about it, losing a series on a sweep is a loss, losing a series 2-4 is still a loss. So for teams that didn't make the WCF, stop making yourselves feel better by saying 'Oh we at least won 2 games' against the same team
Still they won 2 games and doesn't change the fact They won none as in 0 (Zero) in four tries 😂 So still they perform better without their main PG. Sweeeeeeeep.
I love Joy and usually she is the voice of reason but on this one Shady got her she is the reason most ppl can't stand Lebron fans making excuses as to why he loss getting swept is wayyy worse than loosing in close defeat yes loosing is loosing rather you get swept or in Game 7 but getting swept is another knock on you.
Joy missing shady point. He saying that the Lakers got swept by Denver, while other opponents at least won a game or 2, she bringing up about how far the sweep is, and that's not the case.
Kd and book just went against this same team in the previous round and won 2 games. The only reason they were not in the conference finals is because they played the nuggets earlier but once again they won 2 games. That was a dumb take by joy
@@kingnovi9404 but how is it worse to lose earlier rounds like warriors and sun got blown out at home then to make the wcf I just don’t get basketball peoples logic fr this why football talk shows and fans are better 😂😂
@@lamontjamison9848 when did I say it was better? How is it any better getting swept by the team I atleast beat twice. We lost to the same team. Only difference is I ran into the one round earlier
The poetic justice that bron was posting up on Murray all series and bodying him but Murray was the reason the shot didn't go up at the end, is magical to me.
No, in regards to Jordan, 2011 disqualified him if were being honest. This series doesn’t do anything to his legacy, except postpone his goal to win another championship.
2011 happened but man come on Jordan’s career was great but he played 15 years ppl he got swept twice NEVER BEAT BIRD magic the bad boys so I guess he not the goat lol
@@verte28 He "appeared" in 15 seasons. He broke his foot in the 85-86 season. Played 3 full normal games before the injury & 15 games with a 14 minute time restriction. He played in 17 games in 95. When u break down Jordan’s career, he played 11 regular seasons as a Bull and 2 years as a Wizard older than what Lebron is now. He beat Magic Johnson. Never lost a series to him. He swept the Bad Boy Pistons. Have to look at it all objectively. Lebron has played in the postseason 16x. He lost to Detroit, Orlando, Boston 2x, Dallas, San Antonio 2x, Warriors 3x, Phoenix, and Denver. Jordan lost to Milwaukee, Boston 2x, Detroit 3x, and Orlando.
Allen Iverson to this day gets all the props in the world, legendary status because he didn’t get swept in the Finals vs the Shaq Kobe Lakers. Only team in that playoff year not to get swept by those Lakers.
@@qsalazar That's the unfortunate thing about the Nuggets. They are overshadowed by the Lakers bc they're the Lakers. The Nuggets have been overlooked mainly due to smaller market & being a team that's never won doesn't help either. Jokic and company can change that narrative though.
That 7th seed had 2 of the top players in the NBA and a good supporting cast... and still laid an egg. Also, looking at the East, the 8th seed Heat are in a position to win it all. So seeding doesn't matter. Who you got in the team matters.
@@sonikspeed19 The lakers played the #1 seed all year with a pickup team they made in January. All the games were close except game 2. The Laker never had an established lineup while Nuggets did. This was expected. Both lakers fans and nuggets fans are trying to change the narrative to make their teams look better but in reality that was going to happen . Everyone wanted the Lakers to win it because it was a nice story how they managed to put together a team very quickly and succeed but it was a recipe for disaster if they had their backs against the wall.
She can’t understand because she’s never played competitive sports. They explained it perfectly. Lebron getting to 10 chips and losing 6 of them is worse then him not going. Same here. Them getting there and swept is worse than not getting there.
@@Johenz doesn't matter. Nothing tops getting swept, at any stage of the PO's. But especially true at conference finals. Perhaps acceptable at Finals. Same applies to my feeling about Celtics, IF they're swept, but worse for Lebron. Why, you may ask... Conspiracy, I see TOO lopsided FTs, all in favour of Lakers. In the Warriors series, in double digits, and actually triple in the 6th game, when MOST pundits thought Lakers wouldn't survive a game 7, that THEY MUST finish the warriors in game 6. Even in this series Vs Nuggets, there's NOT one game in which Nuggets have more FT awarded. I know there are differences between style of play, but that cannot explain away EVERY GAME.
Anyway, Lebron played "great" last night, in fact I think he did too much. To play 48 minutes, his teammates became spectators. 31 first half points, 9 2nd half. And Lebron ain't a good last shot GO TO person. Aside from AD, anyone else would've been better, I would've drawn the play for Reaves, like MJ to Kerr. But taking that shot took courage fr Lebron, I suppose he decided that the burden is on him.
@@WENG0407 I just disagree and agree to disagree. I rather get swept in the nba finals then lose in second round. Rather get swept in the conference finals then losing the second round.
Joy is missing the point with the suns. Doesn’t matter which round you played when you played the same teams. Suns and Lakers both played them and Suns won 2 games vs the team Lakers got swept by.
Joy is wrong on this one. Shady is right. Lakers just beat the defending champions and got swept by the Nuggets is embarrassing because you can't even win a game when you just beat last year's champs in 6 games. It's not what they've done, it's how he went out, like Willy lump, lump.
Lebron legacy is protected no matter what& fairly judged this nuggets team is capable of sweeping anyone playing the way they did and even hurt lebron showed up in this series he just can't carry the team to a win alone anymore but he tried in game 4 and almost succeeded.
Bro everyone's hurt in the playoffs. If you hurt don't play or be judged accordingly. Look at the way them Lakerboys was beating up Jokic in the post, you think he's not injured? And I don't wanna hear "no help" bs. Everyone was saying AD was a top 5 player in the league before this series with numb nuts like Jason Timpf saying he was the best in the world. And EVERY SINGLE LAKER FAN was telling me all series til the end, "We got this! Our bench is just too deep! Nugs can't keep up!" So miss me with those excuses. LeBron and the Lakers came out and played their heart out to the best of their abilities and got SWEPT plain and simple.
They talk about Jordan as if he just stopped playing after the Bulls years. He wasn't even in the post season at the later stage of his career. Let look at total career...not just the part that was Jordan still in his prime. Remember the Wizards!
Getting swept is the most awful and embarrassing way to lose. You couldn’t win 1 game!!! You know MJ was furious early in his career when he got swept. Now in context he got swept by a Hall of Fame stacked Celtics team. Then he NEVER got swept again. For Lebron to recently not make the playoffs multiple times, losing in round 1, and now getting swept is absolutely scarring his legacy.
They also had 2 of the top 10 players in the game, and 2 of the top 75 players all time. As well as a great supporting cast of role players. Who did Jokic have? Considering most of these 4 games were winnable, it means the Lakers choked. It's one thing if Denver beat up on some scrub 7 or 8th seed. But it's another thing when they whopped the Suns with KD and Booker and then swept Lebron and AD led Lakers. Those were even matchups, and if anything Suns and Lakers had more superstars.
To Joys point the suns outside of game 6 put up more of a fight against denver being able to get 2 games. So i get what shady is saying and i kinda agree with him on that
So just cuz the all but 1 game in this series was close but they didn't get 2 wins means it's worse bruh comeback wen u have something real to add to the convo
I cannot stand Lebron and his narrative driving. With that said, I can’t get on the bandwagon of believing that losing in the WCF is worse than losing in a lower round. We can get to this point.
@@kelvinthomas4998 Timberwolves won 1 game bc jokic missed a free throw that would’ve won them game 4 to complete that sweep, and Durant and booker had to average 80 points combined in order to get those 2 wins . @@kelvinthomas4998 but what does that have to do with them having luck getting 1 game bc jokic missed a free throw ?? Alp though the lakers got swept every game was an 1 or 2 possession game lost.
Just like we were judging Steph against Lebron. He lost. So we are now judging Lebron against other GOAT players and he was swept. We judge him harsher because he is a higher caliber player. Who in their right mind will say, it won't hurt his legacy being swept in the conf. finals because Booker and KD didn't progress as far. That statement doesn't even make sense.
Acho made the greatest point. Going is not gonna be beneficial to you. If you went to the WCF and lost by getting swept, thats real bad rather than not making the WCF at all.
A sweep is Bad period‼️. I don’t think it hurts his legacy because in his 20 year doing what he do weather he won or lose it still was a huge accomplishment. But as an individual it would be a fail because of what he is immune to & the main goal is.
Why has Acho got his own show. "Going to the finals and losing is worse then getting knocked out earlier". Acho and LeSean should not be on a talkshow for that.
Great Arguments!!! Great Expression!!! Love Love you guys!!! Shady is a DAWG!!!! JOY is A DAWG!!! Just great stuff that found myself arguing and laughing at the same time with y'all!!!!
@@theonemrham no she was completely nonsensical, because when you look at her arguments, it would make sense. Yes, the suns did not lose to the Nuggets, but since they lost to the Nuggets and we’re not swept, they just have the unfortunate reality of facing the Nuggets sooner so still more embarrassing for the lakers.
@@DuckFanDane might want to re-write that to fix the typos? I think what you meant to say is more like: The Suns already losing to the Nuggets in an earlier round 4-2 is in NO possible way somehow worse than the Lakers getting swept _by the same team_ ! As long as there is no major injury along the way to getting there - IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHAT ROUND A MATCH-UP HAPPENS IN Peace :)
What she is trying to do is let LeChoke off the hook. She saying LeChoke went to 10 finals, don't they get credit. They lost 6, so there no credit for losing. 😂 Denver Broncos went to 4 straight, do they get credit. No! Win 1 ! She trying so hard to give LeChoke some credit with his stimulus package.
@@OscarUnrated can you name a team that makes so many changes at a trade deadline and wins the title? You can’t build a championship contender like that.
The Lakers organization over-achieved based on the state of the roster at the beginning of the season. The Lakers team did not over achieve. The organization (GM) made the mid-season moves to make the team "better", good enough, more competitive, to be able to finish the season in a high parity conference that was literally 3 games separated from the 4-13 seeds, in the WCF. When they beat Memphis and GSW, it was because the post trade deadline team was that good. Meaning the supporting cast that Bron had was that good. To not be able to get 1 win versus the Nuggets who gave up 1 or more wins versus the Timberwolves and Suns, is a failure. His legacy is still solid, but this sweep is a kink in the armor of his legacy.
Both got good points but i got to side with Joy on this one more. Getting swept sucks but it wasnt like every game didnt come down the wire. As a player i would rather have get swept in close games than to not even make it there at all... Would you rather be Lakers or Memphis? To me Memphis was much more embarrassing than getting swept.
Ha, _nobody_ wants to be in the Memphis dumpster-fire now, that's for sure. They also have much bigger problems with Ja and Co. than just flaming out early in R1. Phoenix still beat Denver twice in WCSF while missing their third option of CP3 and got NO bench production from anyone other than a so-so Cam Payne all post-season. Let that sink in for a bit.
38 years old, he averaged 30 points this year and took his team to WCF. he had 40 pt near triple double meanwhile, what about KD legacy? 38 year Kobe won 17 games for the season at age 38. What are we talking about?
"Getting swept at a certain point in your career is unacceptable" - Shady. Lebron is 38!!!! Its freaking incredible that he's even as remarkable as he still is.
This channel and show has just proven Michael Malone has been correct all along. Instead of talking about Jokic and the Nuggets they are talking about the losing player and team. I have really like this show but this is such a slap in the face and lack of respect for Denver Nuggets and the NBA as a whole.
I think you should factor in also the path that the Lakers had to go through since the regular season before facing Denver and the toll it took in the body of a 38 year-old Lebron, along with all the other team factors.
LeBron was out for most of that 23 game drive to get from 13th to 7th. AD and AR 15 were the team leaders for that. The Lakers suddenly became a very good team because LeBron was injured and the focus shifted from LeBron's scoring title and "legacy" to getting into the playoffs.
