Asta used Devil Union, didn't he? He didn't change forms in it, but I'd say that's definitely post (1st) timeskip. As for techniques, yeah, the only named attack Asta used was Black Meteorite, when Black Divider should've definitely been in there as well (Zetten he just learned in the manga and we also haven't even properly seen Asta use his, so I don't think they needed to take that into account) But I very much doubt Asta scales to planetary, considering he still struggles against opponents that clearly aren't planetary either, like half-manifested Lucifero, who he could only beat with immense help, or even currently the Ryuzen Seven, even though he doesn't seem to have used full Devil Union against any of them as of now. If planetary level means being capable of destroying a planet, Asta is far, very far from there yet.

How you might ask? The people Asta has beaten use magic, which he can cancel. Deku's quirks are not magic, therefore Asta can't cancel it. That's how. And the writers fucked it up, Deku should have won, they literally left out his 5 other quirks, and he wouldn't even need to use all of them. If Deku uses the second users quirk, that would have been instant win, but even without that Deku slaps already with the 3rd user's quirk, danger sense, 7th user's float, 4th user's Fa Jin, the 1st's stockpile and the 5th's black whip. Before you answer, remember: ASTA CAN'T CANCEL THESE!

First of all asta is faster than the speed of light, we know this because hee was able to parry and block light magic which is stated to be as fast as light itself. This isn't even asta greatest speed feat, this was the beginning of the series around episode 36 or chapter 39 of the manga. Dekus greatest speed feat was when he outsped lady Nagats bullets which is around hypersonic++. Next is Asta's durability. During the witch forest arc asta tanked a attack that could vaporize a whole ocean and he still got back up, this is right before he got his black form so he is still in his base, that is multi continental durability. And deku can what? probably survive a missle because afo shigiraki tanked one and barely survived. Next is strength. Asta can reflect magic attacks but only if his strength is comparable to the force of the spell he's combating. For example if a spell has the force of the sun and asta isnt strong enough to reflect the attack, he'll just get vaporized. So during the elf base raid arch he, Zoro and Meroliones were fighting against three elves all of which scale higher than Ladrose the person who fired the ocean vaporizing attack at asta. So each of them cast a spell that is considerably stronger than ladros attack which is amped by three times because it combines into a bigger more powerful spell. Zoro uses his ash magic to double the strength and speed of the spell, asta hits it right back at him to double the power again, then asta proceeds to reflect the attack right back at the elves. So to summarize 3 powerful attacks that are stronger than the ocean vaporizing spell that ladros casted doubles in strength 2 times, gets reflected back at the elves by asta with pure strength IN HIS BASE FORM. That is over multicontinental POSSIBLY MOON LEVEL STRENGTH. The force that attack held and asta casually reflects it back. And deku is what? Country? At most. This is all in the anime btw I haven't even gotten into the manga. Asta even has a universal feat. His infinity slash which could cut through dimensions. Please tell me how does deku even stand a chance against asta?

Salamanda was stated to be able to dry out oceans in the databook which is a multicontinental feat and demon-Licht was stated to be able to wipe out all of humanity with one of his big attacks. All of humanity would not only include all the people from the clover, heart and spade kingdom but also the ones from the rising sun which from what we know is a massive distance away from the clover kingdom. Multicontinental Asta isn't something unrealistic. Then there is speed and oh boy... Deku in the manga can be argued to be close to lightspeed while Asta at chapter 40 already performed similar feats. At this time Asta hadn't even unlocked his black form, couldn't control his antimagic and was not even close to getting devilunion. There were occasions where Asta after training became dozens of times faster than he was before and this isn't even including the training-arcs or the timeskip. Asta is hundreds to thousands of times faster now than he was at chapter 40 so Deku is so much slower that he just straight up wouldn't be able to see him. Asta when he first unlocked his black Asta form vs Deku would be an interesting fight, this isn't.

I also have a problem with the fight, specifically how they characterized Asta. Keep in mind, I know nothing about black clover or it’s characters, this is coming from people who I know that have watched/read it. Asta was characterized to be a massive dick, specifically with him landing the final blow on Deku. I was told that Asta is very sympathizing with his enemies, but db unfortunately portrayed him to just not give a shit about someone like Deku, who he himself compared to Luck. Deku actually died after giving his one million percent punch, as indicated by his eyes glazing over. Apparently, Asta could’ve sensed that his lifeforce was gone, so that means, that him stabbing him multiple times was just rubbing salt in the wound. So yeah, now I’m turned off from watching black clover because of that. Also, I’ve seen people react to this fight on tictok, specifically black clover fans, and my god are they aggressive. All of them praised Asta like he was the second coming of Christ, while in turn they talked shit about Deku getting completely stomped to hell.

Bruh Fa Jin is used in conjunction with full cowl and gear shift would be pretty hard to animate with that puke quality Plus we can assume that these powers were in use when they went all out. But yeah they didn't show most of either characters powers because asta still has true devil union (the form he used was a partial union) and don't get me started with zetten....

If we bring up zetten, that would be more unfair in Asta's favor than it already is.

My theory on why is that I imagine animating and composing all the information they have takes longer then we anticipate. I’m thinking 1-2 months to animate and that’s just animation they still have to do research it in all likelihood takes them at minimum 3-6 months to get everything done by that time more feats have been shown but since they already have the episode planned out and being animated they can’t just go back and erase everything to add in this new feat or they would never get done. It’s just a theory and I could be wrong but that makes the most logical sense on why they don’t include obvious feats if those feats came out after they started storyboarding and animating.

Izuku is a high functioning depressed person before the events of the series start, meaning he focused on not unaliving himself more then working out. Consider this, would you be willing to do anything relating to working out if everyone told you you suck and are basically a quadraplegic if you don't have a quirk(IMO that is stupid, MHA takes place in 22XX, that means EVERYTHING that made humanity the dominant species still happened without quirks aka the pre quirk era.) would you be motivated to work on yourself or learn martial arts?

The issue with that claim is that again one for all is a stockpiling quirk that adds the strength of the previous user to the next and so on Deku being the 9th and all might being the 8th would have a crap ton of power especially when you compare it to the embers of one for all all Mights Feats hell they didn't even mention that Deku was able to hold out against Shigaraki with the powers of All For One

For me honestly the fight is mainly to turn your brain off and enjoy while guessing who the winner will be. Death battle has said a few times that it really is just for show and all that determines the fight is the evidence that they go over at the begining and ending breakdown.

Asta has stabbed a couple of guys in the series, along with cutting non-magical things here and there... maybe his swords are just pretty limited and not sharp compared to other swords, but not less dangerous.

i dunno when the battle was made, but like, im pretty sure gear shift wasnt even a factor during this fight, like at all in the manga? though maybe im just not very well caught up, cause like, gear shift is a MASSIVE speed boost, while that didnt really seem like one in the death battle Asta still wins, very obviously and i dont even read or watch black clover, they are just two entirely different power levels in terms of series

I'm also glad you didn't bring up the Gearshift thing that people have been using to overhype Deku like it was going to make him millions of times stronger and faster than everybody. It is annoying seeing people think that.

It's not really that they low ball characters, it's more like they go with feats that are more concrete in calculating rather than feats that are speculative or straight up impossible to do so. A good example is Sauron vs the Lich King. Their power levels are likely higher than island level, but it's hard to say how much higher. But they were able to get a good idea of the difference using those two feats.
