Very thorough review. Appreciate your follow-up after one month, instead of just unboxing it, as well as the little details that are usually understated.
Thanks for discussing the talkthru mode, i really need this for wearing them at work, but no other reviews really tell you about it. Think I'm going to buy these now.
Yes, the TalkThru is a great feature that I haven't seen or experienced before! I never even considered it. But having used it, this to me would almost be a necessity. Everyone talks about ANC and sound isolation, but that's actually not very practical. I get it.. some people actually want to enjoy their music in peace. But I think the majority just don't want to be bothered by the outside world TBH. But in the real world, knowing what's going on around you, and being able to communicate clearly in-person are essential to daily life. All that said, I doubt this feature will be commonplace anytime soon. But in my opinion, it's a step in the right direction for earbuds. Cheers!
@@novumverum i will be using them for gardening, so i want the passive noise cancelling effect but not active as i still need to hear my machines a little bit, and i have clients talking to me regularly so the talkthru feature sounds amazing, so sick of yanking out my wired headphones constantly to talk. Really appreciate the comprehensive review and answer, cheers!
I've always had weird and/or gross ears and could never find any ear buds that would just fit. (Or at least not having to buy memory foam tips or those ear plug tips) These actually fit me and I'm still in shock. While another more expensive pair of buds had some more features (Pixel Buds Pro, do miss the ANC of those) these do the basics and fit in the first place. Even tried the more recent JBL endurance peak 3 and those would fall out. Absolutely love these so far and probably going to hang on to them until they break.
I just bought the JBL endurance race to replace my noise cancelling JBL Reflect Areo earbuds that had one earbud which stopped charging. Honestly, I like the Endurance Race earbuds much, much better. They isolate sound even better then the noise cancelling Reflect buds. This shocked me. They also stay in your ears much better and sound great.
im 1st to view!!! 😁 well, im astonished by the volume picked up by the mic, if that is the loudness and clarity of all calls, i will be very much sold. but your mention about the controls does make me wonder if they are suitable for my use. also i noticed you did not mention about its battery life (unless i missed it) my monster isport champion audio is working fine but the earbuds are breaking apart physically as the wing tis are getting loose and the thin plastic sheet layer that is securing the wing tip had been "cut into" by the wing tip over time and had been torn off by the tips. So im scouting for a good replacement before i retire my monster isport champion
These are definitely something to consider! The sound quality alone makes this a worthwhile product. As to the battery life, the longest I've used these is around 9 hours straight. That's listening to music for the majority of the time with Ambient Aware mode on. I did have a couple of calls that day, and I spent about an hour playing games on my phone. So after 9 hours of mixed use, with ambient mode on, the earbuds still had power, and I didn't get any "battery low" warning. I didn't check how much power it had left unfortunately. According to JBL, these have 30 hours total use -- 10 hours in the buds plus 20 hours with the case. From my own experience, 10 hours seems very doable for these. Anyhow, I hope this helps. And I'll be sure to include battery life in my following reviews. Thanks for pointing that out. Cheers!
@@nantyfields3226 sorry for the late response. From what I recall, there is no way to turn them on without the case. Unfortunately I no longer have these so I can't verify. I do remember these go into sleep/standby mode when there's no activity for a long period of time (I think 30mins). You can then wake them up by opening the JBL app. However, they will turn off if not connected to a device. I wish I could give you a more confident answer. Sorry I can't be of more help. Cheers!
Trying to decide between this and the Jabra Elite 3 since I'm getting them for the same price. Both seem excellent, but leaning towards the Jabra so that I have physical buttons to use instead of touch. Great video!
I know what you mean. I prefer my Monster 102 Plus because of the physical buttons. Definitely helps when you have them under a toque or beanie lol! Cheers!
Which ones did you get?? I was leaning towards the elite 3s but people seem to be having an issue with one of the earbud not working after 6 months or so and have seen a lot more people complain about the not so secure fit on the 3s which was a deal breaker for me as I'm going to be using those for the gym and don't want them to be falling out every 5 mins. I'm prolly ordering the JBL ones tomorrow. Which one did you get and how are they performing?? Are u happy with them or have you faced any issues thus far. Would appreciate a reply. Thanks
Hello! Yes, the case is solid. What I was referring to was the quality of the plastic.. not as dense as I would like and easily scratches. Aside from that I have no complaints about the build quality. Cheers!
The bass can be changed in the JBL app that's free to use and I'm telling you they're the best headphones. They're better than my 180$ Sony bass xf700s
Thanks for your question but unfortunately I can't answer this properly. I'm restricted in my activities since having surgery (donated a kidney to my brother) so I haven't been doing much -- just walking and light jogging. I did mention in my review that they wobbled a bit in my ears when I'm going up and down stairs, but they never felt like they were going to fall out at any point. Also, that doesn't mean these won't fit tightly for other people as not all ears are the same. Cheers!
I just got these maybe 2 weeks ago and mind has a senor on the bottom but i cant find anything about it. Im assuming its wireless charging but wanted to see if you have it or have used it at all?
Hello and thank you for your question. I'm assuming you mean the case. Mine does not have a sensor or anything on the bottom whatsoever. I also checked the manual and no, it's not wireless charging. It's possible you have a different model. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Cheers!
I like them but if they can just make ear cone peace a bit longer to go in my ear it be perfect it because i originally have sony wf-xb700 and they fit all the way to my ear.
