This is one of the greatest championship runs in any sport ever. Came back from 0-3, three consecutive game seven victories, three consecutive game seven victories ON THE ROAD, down multiple times in elimination games. The 2014 Kings were just unkillable. Crazy.
i am sad to say that i was once someone who thought hockey was one of the dumbest sports on earth. but this past stanley cup finals i finally watched and learned in depth about hockey. being from missouri i had to watch. because finally team from my state made it to a championship. (im a chiefs fans and mizzou tigers fan) anyways i had so much fun watching my boys battle for the cup and win it!!! im a hockey fan now and have been reading and watching a lot of old vids from hockey games such as this one! also im a big fan of NHL games i play NHL 19 and am pretty good at it! hockey is oretty cool now!
I'm from Brazil,ok you think "i like soccer and only soccer",well sorry,i love soccer but i love hockey in the same intense *Pardon i'm a Leafs fan,we are open for jokes about 1967
Not one team mate came over to console him after Kings scored in OT. Took a while. I thought it was classless and I lost respect a bit that day for NYR's.
Make it 8 years later... I was at the game and every time I watch the highlights I get reminded of how insanely nerve-racking those overtime periods were with tons of scoring chances by both sides.
+princeofdarknessxyz1 I can actually see him exaggerate baseball games, "an 0-2 pitch on the way FOUL TIP INTO THE CATCHER'S GLOVE STRIKE 3!!!OH MY! 1-2 pitch to Gonzalez BASE HIT INTO RIGHT FIELD!!! HE BEAT THE SHIFT WITH AN OPPOSITE HIT!!!
@@Gar7Art He was originally going to do baseball broadcasts, he did part of a game for the Pirates and Cubs in 2016 as his first MLB regular season game
This was by far one of the Best Stanley Cups I have ever watched, East vs West, NY vs LA (2 of the Best Cities in the Country) going at it. Marvelous Game !!!
Re watching these highlights as a Rangers fan thinking damn we had an amazing team that year and what a run it was I just hope before I die I can see my team win the Stanley Cup
Ok this game 5 was fucking intense.... Holy shit!!! I am a Rangers fan and I knew the end result but still waching the highlights, I had soo many chills. How many times they could have scored is insane. Those last two OT was just unbelievable. So close ):
xtreme1002003 Hang in there!!! I enjoyed game #5 of last year...I kept saying, "You don't want to go back to N.Y." If you want more intensity, do this on your computer if you have time. #miracle on manchester/edmonton vs. los angeles- april 10, 1982...then tell me if you like that? 2012 was well put together towards the end of the season!!
Henrik Lundqvist played so damn well in this game. He deserved a cup during his career. His team really let him down in this series. This is easily one of the best sports games I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. I don't really have anything else to compare it to. This Kings team was different. I don't know if we'll ever see a team that you just can't knock down hard enough again. 3 road game 7 victories. felt like they always had a way to come back. 2014 kings in my opinion are the best and most untouchable team in hockey of the 2010's
7:08 kills me as rangers fan. oh man so many chances like that. and god dam what a game from hank. 50 saves. did all he could. cant wait for the new season to start!
@@againsttherest1 so glad everything is getting back to normal! Seems like just a couple months ago we were in lockdown! Time flies! Hope you’re doing well!
I would like to congratulate the Kings and the Rangers for making it to the Stanley Cup Finals and what a series it was but in the end only one team can be crowned NHL champions awesome. This is coming from a Kings fan from New Zealand
Great video. Remember watching this game on the edge of my seat. This series was actually much closer then then the 4 -1 record. Three games went to OT and two went to double OT. Lundqvist was great but Kings were relentless it was their year. Epic battle indeed.
I saw this as a kid and a lifelong Rags fan i was at a NYR Watchparty at some restaurant in New York City when my dad's freind invited us to watch the game. I remember feeling so heartbroken back then when the Kings won. But damn this feels forever ago at this point.
They finished with 46-28-8. Not only that they finished the same record at home and the road. Which is this...... (Home Record): 23-14-4 (Road Record): 23-14-4.
Thank you so much for posting this and the Chicago Game 7 O.T. Game! I've been a King's fan since 1975. Probably the only native So. Cal resident who even knew what Ice Hockey was. The Kings only broadcast about 15 games a Season and Hockey Night in Canada played one game a week on Friday at Midnight, and only the last two periods. Luckily I bought ALL the 13/14 and 15/16 Season King's Playoff games on ITunes. I don't know if they're available still, but they were only like $40 for both King's Playoffs. I've watched all the 2016 Playoffs Kings' Game 7's multiple times. My favorite is the Sharks one.
I truly remember this run to win the Stanley Cup like it was yesterday. I am Super superstitious, my best friend wouldn’t knock on wood for the Kings so I kicked him out of my house until he did. Kings ended up winning in double OT for their 2nd cup
I was at the game. It was exquisite and excruciating. Incredible performance by Lundqvist. I now have seen the Lakers win the title in person, been to a Dodgers World Series game, and was at the Super Bowl this year for the Rams, and none of them were as exciting or had the atmosphere of a Stanley Cup Final. Incredible. Hope the Kings can do it again before my dirt nap:)
One of the most memorable performances in recent memory by both teams and of course Doc Emrick. It would have only been topped by this being a game 7 instead of 5 for the Cup.
This might be the greatest hockey game I’ve ever seen I remember even non hockey fans were watching with me I was a huge hockey fan and I was watching it in a public facility when teens used to hang out after school and they ended up watching the game because it was on the tv and there was just people around
All these men remember as playing hockey as youthful kids late at night when someone says "The next goal wins the Stanley Cup". That's exactly what happened. Tremendous game. Go Kings!!
Man it sucked that rangers didn't even twice in the finals that bent me outta shape i wanted the Rangers to win that stanley cup again but they didn't even win twice.
As a Kings fan really sad to think that our Conn Smythe winner most likely won't be able to stay in LA for the 2015-16 season. Wherever he lands that team is gaining one hell of a player.
Yes I am happy about Lucic. Really hoping for a good season, one without any of the extracurricular drama and good hockey. Good luck to your team Brent :)
Doughty really did make a lot of mistakes when he was younger. Multiple ones in this series led directly to Ranger breakaway chances. You hardly ever see Doughty do stuff like that now. I was just struck by that upon looking at these highlights again. Which never get old, by the way! #GKG
This was one of the most thrilling and tense sporting event i've ever seen. You could see how badly each team wanted and nobody was going to give up. Through each overtime you could see the fatigue setting in all those close shots to win it just added to the drama. What a fucking game.
These fans got their fucking money worth. This was literally fucking awesome I just watched this and it left me hanging on the edge of my seat. So many saves but in the end la obviously won. New York was basically just hanging on for dear life and that was the fact indeed
Hanging on for dear life? They should have won that game with the chances they had in OT. Plus the penalty call on Zuccarello that led to the Kings' second goal was complete BS. Also, not shown in the video is a clear delay of game penalty by one of the Kings for throwing the puck over the glass which wasn't called in OT.
Not salty, anyone with eyes could see it. Try watching hockey more. There were games they didn't play well and were hanging on. This wasn't one of them.
I nearly had a heart attack watching this game. When Martinez scored in 2OT, I just looked over at my wife (after screaming and waking up my infant son), "Did that just happen "???
Diablo Blanco This was the most exciting game in a series of playoff games that , in my humble opinion, was the greatest playoff run in any sports' history :)
I can't!!!.. also, it's like the soccer tournament every four years. Only with soccer, I'm sure all of us have watched grass grow enough in our lifetime.
i find it funny how no one ever talks about voynov in the play starting at 9:18; that stick save literally saved the game and if he's not there, the kings may very well have not won at all he's a terrible human being but he was a helluva hockey player, and what he did cost the kings their cup window. shame that off-ice issues claimed stoll, richards, and voynov as payment for the 2 cups.
