Ant had to. He couldn't, for the sake of money, agree with Dice. It would've broken the show apart. It WAS fucking epic of Dice though. I'd love to know Ant's private thoughts on this. Pretty sure he's never brought it up.
Look dice was half right. Anthony is like the greatest comic that never was. Opie is insecure, nowhere near as funny as ant. I really do believe Opie eats way more shit than is deserved. There wouldnt have been a show without him. I appreciate Howard stern. Back in the day he was the ruthless, cut throat shock jock of the everyman. Now he has Ellen on to talk about how much he loves her dancing. O&A may not be a team anymore, but they kept it real to the bitter end.

I've been obsessed with stand up comedy for over 2 decades. I've never laughed at any of Dice's routines. The best comedians are self deprecating. Dice is the opposite of that.
The classic "I've been doing radio since I was 18!!" is always the best when you consider the fact all the people they "jocktober" were terrible radio people (in his words) that often had been doing it for decade+. Or the holes that keep landing jobs and always exist. If you're only reasoning behind why you don't suck is "BUT I'VE DONE IT FOR A LONG TIME!!!" that means literally nothing, the WNBA has existed for a long time too gregory
Tell me if you can see Howard and dice doing this: Dice wasn’t allowed on the stern show anymore, so he went on mancow and O&A. In order for Howard to let him back on, knowing this, he had to bury one of them and Howard buried the other.
Anthony had to just go with this because he didn’t want to have to do any of the work that Opie did. Which was basically just hobnobbing with the bosses.

i will never get why anthony thought hooking up with that guy was a good idea. anthony does impressions, has material, and can kill. maybe hes just too insecure to be 'the guy' he shouldve hooked up with a chick. its one of the main reason stern worked so well.
calling Howard a "has been" is more of an insult to them then it is to Howard, seeing that they've been getting killed by him in ratings and popularity there whole careers.

Pretty much. They always bash Stern, criticize what he says, etc. And then in the end Stern always comes off the winner. He's the guy with the ratings, and they're the ones constantly losing their jobs because they have no audience. It reminds me of when they were tearing Stern apart over Sirius before the merger, basically claiming that Sirius was going to go under and he'd be out of a job. And look what happened.
If Mat Damon and Ben Affleck stayed loyal only to Kevin Smith, they would have nothing like the success they have had today. They'd be making 25,000$ budget independents.
WHen mel came on the show in 2008 that was the first time O&A had talked to him extensively for 6 years but not the first time ever. That wouldn't make sense considering he was there boss for so long. And it is a fact that he put a gag order on them from saying howards name when he was the head of infinity and howard and O&A both worked for him. IDK about the rest of what the other guy said both those two things are both true.

Ant actually did a live show once. He was the last minute stand in for either Bill Burr or Patrice and absolutely killed. It’s a shame he doesn’t leave his compound to go hang out with Norton and Vos in New York.

whatever, stern is a niche market, the only way he succeeds is because he has a loyal fanbase, the majority of people i know dont listen to him or even particularly like him
The only time they've spoken with Mel longform post-merger is when he appeared on their show, and there was no reading of any riot act why would you literally make something up and lie about it for no reason? o_O
Stern is losing his audience at a steady rate. It started declining right before Artie Lange left, and the damage keeps coming. I hate to say it, because I liked earlier Sirius Howie, but his show is shit now with fake bits, fake prank phone calls. Without Artie, it's basically a half a billion dollar yenta and a black hole babbling about nothing interesting twice a week. Might as well watch The View. Or throw your body into a busy highway.
