Check out that re-holstering! Smooth & spot on. I can think of at least one government agency who needs more out of the holster into the holster training.
Being a few years older than you Pat, I sure do appreciate you bringing the eyesight/glasses up in the video without worrying about vanity. A lot of guys don't want to admit it, to the detriment of their shooting. Though I need readers for most everything up close, I still see pistol irons fine without correction. However, while using RDs on the rifles for years, I only last year bought my first Eotech, and holy moly, what a shock when I looked through it and saw a big fuzzball! For those not familiar, holos like the Eotech will really make your astigmatism noticeable, especially if you didn't know you had any. Now I've got prescription bifocals in my Oakley Detcords, and all is well.
@Tahoe10I have astigmatism as well and have the same issue with red dots looking like a starburst. I switched to a green dot and its better than the red.
I have astigmatism as well. Primary arms has some wonderful options for etched reticles with alumination. Super small all the way up to lvpos. I have a 2x etched prism sight. The gl2 I believe, it's wonderful.
Hey guys. 68 yrs old here. I fought the same eye issues for years. Wore glasses then went contacts. A couple of years ago I gave it up and had cataract surgery. Went big time out of pocket and had the multi focal lenses installed. 20/20 all day long now. It was so freakin worth it. No glasses, no contacts.
@Tahoe10 I think there's different kinds of cataract surgery. My dad had it at 82, and suddenly his eyesight was better than mine. He was able to toss all his glasses. He used to have a great time pissing me off by showing me something to read with fine print that I'd need to grab reading glasses for. 🤣
Basic dude stuff for sure. Like the pistol brother, and everything else you decide to bless us with out of the knowledge bank. Keep getting it, salute🙏🤘👊🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
For anyone out there, there are a lot of companies now that make prescription safety eyewear that is ballistic and ansi rated, oakley, ess, wiley x, just to name some of the larger brands
OUTSTANDING STUFF AS USUAL. I ONLY USE SLIDE LOCK WHEN SHOOTING FOR TIME OR IN TACTICAL TRAINING. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? ADMIN SHOOTING I AVOID USING IT SINCE I'VE BEEN TOLD BY MULTIPLE GOATS IT CAN WEAR OUT AND SLIDE WONT LOCK BACK ON EMPTY MAG AS A RESULT. YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS?? THANKS PAT
Pat, aside from hammer vs striker-fire action and other obvious differences, this little unit still reminds me of the Glock 19X (which is the only sidearm I own anymore ). Man I''d love to know your take on that weapon. Blaze Ops baby! 🔥🔥🔥
I haven’t gotten into the 9mm 2011/2311 , whatever, scene yet. Will be soon hopefully. A lot of choices popping up now. Are they close to becoming issue, or used with any agencies, departments, units, etc yet? Just curious.
Enjoyed the video.. I recently bought some 1.5 full lens magnified safety glasses because them ole eyes ain't what they used to be. Point is, they're strong enough to see my optics And down range without it being blurry. Worth every penny..
I use clip on inserts made for my shooting glasses. They have my normal distance Rx and I can see front sight fine. One can also have those inserts Rx in bi-focal. Mid range on upper part, and distance for the rest. Wiley shooting glasses.
Brother I feel your pain on having to use glasses to see your irons. I have the same issue, without glasses irons are a blur, with glasses I can't see the target! Really sucks trying to zero a weapon with out a green dot. Have an appointment to check out contacts, hope they work.
I know iron sight work is paramount, but my instructor partner said a phrase from one of his mentors the other day in class, “If you aren’t shooting with pistol optics, you’re pistol Amish.”😂 It may help with those old eyes you and I have, Sir. You probably don’t carry those 1X magnifiers as your EDC, do you? “Excuse me, Sir, but you’ll have to wait for me to don my glasses so we can make this a more fair gunfight.” Thanks for the review, Sir!!
Always consummate dude stuff, Pat! Looks like a great shooter. Definitely would love to see an update after the first thousand. And I can tell it's a typical summer in the Southeast (I'm originally from Roanoke, VA). I live in Commiefornia these days (hey, man, somebody still has to fight the commies!), but I can smell the air in your video. 😂
Pat...I'm in the same boat as you. I cannot get that front sight anymore. Everything past the sight is fine, but sight inward, blurry. Let me say, optics on a pistol are a game changer. I'm shooting perfect scores on qualifications now because of optics. Think about it, it'll be a game-changer for you too.
