Fundamentals of Marksmanship broken down into 2 basic concepts - (1) line up the sights and (2) squeeze the trigger without disturbing the sights - PFM (Pure F-ing Magic), ain't it? Only took me about 20 years of competition to learn it ... 25 more years after that and I am still trying to get it right each and every time.

The sign of a true master is acknowledging your shortcomings even after the years you’ve put in. Thanks for inspiring me man, I’ve been shooting (not as often as I’d like) for a little over 10 years and needed this reminder. I wanna be like you when I’m older, God bless 🫡❤️

I am not an expert shooter. Yet, every once in a while, someone talks to me saying they are going to buy a handgun. This type of video is a perfect recommendation to steer them in the right direction. I even like the movements, not sweeping, clearing, visually checking handgun for clear. I will recommend this to anyone who asks. Thanks.

Dude him reciting what he was doing at end pisses me off…it’s too damn IMPRESSIVE lol. That was just amazing to me. He didn’t miss a beat. It always cool seeing how many time he checks the pistols status when it comes out of the holster. Straight class. And it’s let’s you know if the professionals are doing it that systematic, it’s motivating to want that engrained. Rock n’ Roll!!!

I just tought a newbie couple last Tuesday. And after 15min in I paused,sent them for water,and adjusted myself. I learned my regular vernacular ways were not working for this couple. So I as a student first and. Teacher of the craft 2nd,noticed and adjusted and changed. Rest the of class went very well. You Pat touched on so many things that all of us students and teachers could take from this short but to the point video. I for one appreciate that. So thank you brother from one range rat to another.

Pat I love your videos I believe your honestly one of the best around. If you could answer a question for me I would love it. As a former LEO I was always taught to come back to low ready, SUL or modified low ready. I notice your muzzle is pointed slightly up. What is the benefit of this? Not criticizing in the least just wanting some more education from a Master Craftsman.

If I ever were to go to a range to take lessons I wish it to be like this. But I live in a different country with ultra strict gun laws and it will probably never happen. I am nontheless really grateful to be able to learn fundamentals through free information like this and I can at least dry fire. You never know when you might need it.

So with the 4 rules of firearm safety you'll have to pick 3 to focus on. I wonder what you'll choose. Always treat a gun as loaded, don't aim at anything you're not willing to destroy, finger off the trigger until youre ready to fire, and identify the target and whats behind it. Maybe the first one since you dont literally always have to do that. I for example dont do it while I'm cleaning a gun, and there's no bolt in it

This makes me recall the first class I had w/ Walter Rausch(sp?), it was at an indoor range in mid-winter & everyone was waiting in the lounge w/"weapons holstered".....SUPPOSEDLY !!!....no they were not & there was "more muzzle "flashing" going on than at a strip joint" as one dude explained,......lol...... & when Walt walked in he QUICKLY explained "HOLSTER YOUR WEAPONS & The first guy to point his weapon at me gets shot before he shoots me" !!!......DONE !!!!......aahhh - the good ole' days - Man to Man - Right to the Point !!

Can someone explain the 3 sight pictures portion and "Sight, sight, squeeze, squeeze, sight sight, squeeze, squeeze, realign, reset, realign reset, back to the ready, finger off the trigger" ???
@davereloader8837
@davereloader8837 2 года назад
What he means is three sight pictures for two shots. Each shot gets a sight picture prior to trigger press. After second shot, you are getting go a third sight picture without a third trigger press. So one shot gets two sights pictures. You always want to watch your sights returning to target after pressing off a shot.
