Oakland Coliseum Switch from Football to Baseball

You probably know this by now but now the A’s will be there too in four or so years. This is the last year for the A’s in the Coliseum as well. As they’ll play the next few years In Sacramento.

The Coliseum has the sloppiest, most inefficient conversion ever designed. They couldn't design it better than that?

@@davidlafleche1142 In the 70's and 80s the Coliseum had an alternate alignment which put the football field from home plate to center field without any additions to the seating bowl. Check out the old Oakland Invader USFL games to see how it looked.

@@AlexAcostaArt I knew that. The problem was, the "prime" seat on the 50-yard line was in two different places! When they ran the gridiron from home plate to the outfield, that "prime" seat was a mile away.

Salary alone for the 200+ employees including crane and other heavy equipment operators would make up a large part of that 250k

That must be a mistake. There are a bunch of them, but they haven't been used for a while: RFK Stadium, Astrodome, Olympic Stadium and B.C. Place are all I can think of. Alamodome has been used for baseball, but it isn't actually convertible. The Rangers played exhibition games there, but with a ridiculously short right field (280 ft.). Chase Field and Tropicana Field have been used for football, but they're not really designed for it.

Possibly Toronto? I believe their CFL team was sharing the place with the Jays back then

I think the fourth venue Brodie was referring to was the Skydome in Toronto. Since this segment aired, the CFL Argonauts have left the Skydome and now play at BMO Field, home to Toronto FC of MLS.
