He is AMAZING at handling hecklers and people who disagree with him. It's so hard being president and I think Obama has handled all of the politics and BS so well while keeping a steady head about him. It's so scary to think about the huge step back we're taking from Obama in the next election, especially if Trump is elected. He would never be able to handle this kind of heckling and would have had that guy beaten and arrested.
Yeah, it’s good to be reminded that we once had an intelligent, articulate and emotionally well balanced President who wasn’t defensive and easily triggered by hatred. Good times!
I'm Christian, conservative, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and mostly a fiscal conservative, although I am very slightly to the left-of-center for most people issues, such as immigration. Still, I respected President Obama as a person and as a leader. Even when I disagreed with him, I just considered him wrong, not evil. Even on the few issues where I agree with Trump, I consider him to act poorly, and sometimes atrociously. And, I don't think he holds some positions he claims to hold. It does seem like all he really cares about is money.
Actually it looks like it's the Right wing people who prefer to shut the media and call everyone and everything "fake news" or "witch hunt". Trump is obviously a clear example.
Zachary Rose Well judging by the tone we can root out the fact that it wasn't something positive, and surely not what Obama thought he was answering to xD
The way he handled a loaded town hall question was even more impressive. He told the audience hecklers to shush and let the guy talk because he was a veteran and served his country.
Oh I forgot you fuckwits watch CNN. I'm sure they failed to cover all the racist remarks hillary clinton made against blacks. Please give me a solid argument beyond "HUR DU DUR TRUMPS RASCIST HE IS ORENGE WITE PREVILEGE LOLOLOL" because there is nothing wrong with being against ILLEGAL immigration.
@Professor Elmo well evidently you are going to assume as well because you assumed I was young. Personally I don't prefer either of them. You also had to have been angry in some way shape or form because if you didn't care you would've left it alone. I only called you softie because....to be honest I don't know why. I was in a very grumpy mood because I have had the flu for a week.
@Professor Elmo I also am not ignorant. Ignorant people hate gays and are racist. I live in North Carolina so if there was a person to know about ignorance it may be me. Although I don't know what state your in so🤷
Yes, he is a cool guy. I don't like all of his decisions as a president, but he is pretty okay I guess. This is just my opinion. Some people might not like him at all. Some people might disagree with my opinion. Just saying, we all have different opinions, so please don't criticize me for saying he is pretty cool. Just. my. opinion.
When someone's sole purpose of showing up is to heckle kick them out! I dont care if its a play, comedy show or president. You have a right for free speech but not harassment or causing a disturbance that ruins other's experience. I respect Obama for giving the heckler a chance to shut up, but i also respect trump for showing he won't tolerate it.
@@Pinecracker Exactly... These people are hecklers and do not deserve to be treated with respect. I mean, they come to your house and blatantly disrespect you. Why would you allow that?
You mean the guy that said Donald trump will never become president? You mean the guy whose mess donald trump spent 4 years cleaning up? You’re talking about a war criminal opposed to a man who held America together until it fell apart after he was kicked out. Obama had no formidable opponents, whereas Trump is a complete outsider who has taken on the Clinton’s, Bush’s and even most of the Republican Party. Even with the endless bouts of smear campaigns, blatant lies and media ostracisation he prevails. The man literally got shot at and 10 seconds later he was pumping his fists, leading a crowd of people to start chanting in the face of a tragedy. Obama, on the other hand, has some charm and a very healthy dose of support. He was lucky for the insane background support and weak opponents, otherwise he’d never been president.
That’s the worst thing about it. Trump is easy to beat in a debate, but who did the Democrats put up against him? Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris. Great job guys.
@@dyhallit’s actually not super easy to deal with someone like trump who just makes stuff up constantly on live TV. the only way to effectively deal with it is to pin him on almost every suspicious claim by demanding a source, but that’s not really possible in a fast-paced debate and isn’t rhetorically effective either.
@@dyhall Kamala Harris doesn't reek of anything notably bad, *at worst* she's not the most qualified, but that's very arguable considering Trump's background before he became president
@@marcuskissinger3842 You have to let him look like the idiot he makes himself out to be. Biden actually got some of the formula down in his horrible debate, the problem was that he couldn’t actually speak to make his points. " But on the other end, we have a multi-billionaire who not only did well in life but exceeded life's expectations by a thousand miles..." LOL 1. Trump was handed his daddy's fortune, and wasted it. 2. Trump has never had a successful business in his life. he even managed to bankrupt an entire casino chain. a CASINO FFS! how do you lose money on a casino??? 3. most of his current money is from allowing Russian mobsters to launder money through his failed businesses. really. 4. 3 of his 4 most recent "business" ventures were proven frauds he was sued in court over. 5. There's a reason Trump refused to show his tax returns. He's not really a "billionaire" at all. if this is how you measure "success"? you're a delusional muppet.
American here! It's not a huge mystery, sadly. There was a racist backlash. The right wing's racial powerbase is decreasing in size, and instead of growing their coalition they decided to double down on fearmongering to turn out the vote. It's effective! Politicians do it everywhere. But the republicans in the US are essentially making a play to crank the rhetoric up to the max, take over the government, and enshrine themselves as the minority (by population) one-party rulers of the US. Essentially, they're trading in a portion of US democracy to secure their power base. It's fairly straightforward but it's led to some real nastiness in right wing politics.
Pent up racism and a lack of appealing directly to the frustrated white identity. Though I'm not sure the latter would have helped the former in a significant way

Mark Scott Just because it is like that, doesn't mean that I wouldn't try to push Bernie if I was American. I'd still try. Why are you being so aggressive towards me anyway? Get angry at the people that put you in this unfortunate situation. Such a waste of energy.
I live in the UK and yet I have only ever looked up to one presidential figure in my life and that is this man. I came into this video after watching several other speeches assuming he would react the same way our appalling, childish politicians in the UK do and yet... he amazes me yet again. How does one man continually do so much good and express such love? It’s a choice. It is power and I will remember this each time I look at the people who run my country and others, all the while knowing ‘... they could do better’. Thank you Obama.
We didn't hire a comedy act although he leads mostly like that. He is the most pathetic human I have ever seen and it is not funny when a man comes in and tears up your homeland and how your country has survived and just got better.

As a person, I’d have a beer with him. Him and his family are awesome. As a president, he was very mediocre and didn’t stop the reckless endangerment of southwestern Asian lives with drone strikes that radicalized innocent Muslims by forcing them to turn to voices such as Osama bin Laden.

As a Brit I've always found the American political system and voters quite confusing. Don't really understand how individuals can berate Obama for not doing things and fulfilling any promises when he doesn't have the power to do so with the republications having the majority in both the senate and The house, just baffles me..
Well the thing is that he did have majority his first 2 years and lost it in the mid terms, which probably means that most people didn't like how he was doing. Also he has executive action, which he can use if he really wants something passed. Overall he didn't do a great job though.
DaFeekiel Elliott mid terms don’t reflect on Obama, they reflect on the senate and house of REPs, Executive action only goes so far, and if he did use it to much Republicans would be calling him a tyrant dictator.
*whispers* It’s because many people don’t understand politics, or how the structures of government works. It’s really sad, really. That being said, even WITH an obstructionist, Mitch McConnell-controlled Legislature, Obama was able to do enough to at least implement the ACA, do stimulus, lead the country out of recession, and implement some decent environmental regulations. But President Rump basically scrapped all of it. It’s time for an FDR 2.0 (Bernie Sanders) to bring us a NEW New Deal!!!
