Re the oil filter nut... I saw A&P shop video in which one the mechs was showing off a set of 1/4 inch drive socket sets that has all sorts of extra thin claw foots, thin sockets and various articulating attachments to help get the tiny components into quirky places, including turbines. The down side is that they bought this stuff off of a tool truck. $$$$$$$ I think it was in the $200-$400 range. The ratchet drive was also extra fine to reduce the throw needed to move the fastener.

No doubt you would win the first place at Airventure, for the quality of your build. Cheers from Winnipeg.

In the UK even on the Cruzer we have to mod the wings and add 2 x extra angles per wing as you have done.

I also agree with the static port location no issues with mine

At 3:45, I’d remove the fairing and inspect the two relief cutouts for cracking on a regular basis.

I absolutely love your attention to fine detail 👏 Just a suggestion, where you had to flute the wing (root section) skin edge of part (EOP), in the region of the leading edge because of the curvature, the stress relief around the fasteners (between tabs) should be more of an “undercut” in shape, in order to prevent fatigue crack propagation. What do I mean by an “undercut” ? Well instead of drilling a small hole, the circumference of which - at the root of the cutout that facilitates the flute - is tangential to the edges of the adjacent tabs, locate and drill a larger hole of diameter 2D, such that you can maintain the 2D edge distance from each adjacent tab edge fastener center and blend in the resulting corner radii (where the radius r will = 2D). The down side is you probably would have required supporting structure with a wider mating flange locally. This really only avoids the possibility of fatigue cracks being able to grow over the life of the airframe and it has to be considered in the context of more difficult manufacture and sealing if you do not install a fairing to cover up the region in the first place. Your method will work just fine, just remember to inspect for crack growth at least every 10 years ( or 1,000 hrs). Fantastic work on your part as usual. 👍 Thank you for sharing with the rest of us 🙏

Another great video!!!!! In my vast experience working at an FBO on the flight line, the only time Piper tow bar ears get bent is using a tug too aggressively. If you are just using a hand tow bar, you will never bend them.

You need a English wheel for parts like that fairing, so you don’t have to notch it.

Hello from Germany! Great to see that you plan to have 701 fairings. If there is any way to find out if those will fit on a ICP Savannah S as well, I would be very interested.

G,day from Sydney Australia. On kit planes and experimental, do you safety wire or use Loctite© on engine accessories, filter and the propeller? 🌏🇭🇲

Yes-anything that would get safety wired on a certified airplane would also get safety wired on an experimental.

can you share the bolt hole pattern dimensions on your SD. I am building a spacer for mine.

I have no idea what the hole pattern is. You’d have to ask Zenith for a CAD file or something.

When you put on your wings if you had to Shem them like I did you will most likely haft to trim the skin where the aileron control goes through the Fuselage Because the wing is sitting back a little to far
