Odell got the best of Grimes when Grimes was in Miami now Grimes came back to play this time .. But I still think with better play calling Odell can’t be stopped.

If Eli didn't overthrow some of those balls his stats would have been 150 yards 11 reception and a td. As well as Odell playing with a bad ankle and dislocated finger.

Grimes clearly locked Odell down...he got 90 yards from toasting Vernon Hargreaves on one play that was like 58 yards and made like 2 or three good plays.

Hard to call this a win for Grimes because Tampa ran Cover 2 Zone Under and Cover-4 disguises. However, I cannot call this a win for Odell because the Giants atrocious and predictable play-calling, Eli missing him, and Tampa's execution of their Zone coverage. Tampa's Zone gameplan for Odell was designed to pin Odell to the sideline and give him the flat routes, but eliminate his deep posts and flag routes. Nearly every play, Grimes lined up at least 7 yards off in Cloud Coverage on Odell's inside shoulder giving Odell outside leverage. Grimes only lined up in press squat coverage when he had to defend the sticks on 3rd and short and he immediately pinned Odell to the sidelines on those routes. At 3:40 Eli misfires on a huge opportunity for a TD. It is cover-2 zone cloud under and The Safety bites down on the Tight End's out route and Odell runs a skinny post right behind him right into the endzone, Brent Grimes made the right call to bail on his zone to make Eli's throw more difficult. Eli does hit Odell later on an inside sluggo route splitting the safeties but I do not believe Grimes was covering him on that play. I would rather judge this as Tampa's defense beating Odell as opposed to Grimes beating Odell due to it being zone coverage but, I will admit Grimes executed his coverage perfectly. We all seen how Grimes did in 2015 shadowing Odell in man coverage and I think Tampa's D-Coordinator wasn't going to let that happen again.
Shout out to Brent Grimes, players like him, let's young athletes know they don't have to go to Div 1 or 2 schools to make it to the top. Shippensburg University; also the same college as John Kuhn the pro bowl FB from Green bay.

That's total BS about being injured. His ankle wasn't bothering him. The ONLY time he ever favored it was AFTER he was tackled. When you have a REAL ankle injury you can't push off of it, cut or stop with it. He had NONE of those issues. He only acted like it hurt when a play was over...giving Giants fans a reason to rationalize why he was locked down by a 35 year old Cornerback. Their "Boy" is VERY overrated.

Eli was overthrowing him a lot and sometimes he under threw Odell and Odell had to try to come back for the ball .. That should never happen .. anytime I’m going up against a cb if it’s not a back shoulder throw if I’m running a go route or any other route I’m looking to catch the ball in stride not having to slow down just to catch a poorly thrown ball.
