Stefan Siqueland I'm surprised no one else mentioned this.. It's hard to say OBJ did great against him when they weren't playing man to man most of the time
Yeah that’s the thing with Sherman in general, he doesn’t shadow anyone for the whole game. I have the utmost respect for him and everything it’s just that I can’t say he is the greatest corner of his time. Reves was the real deal pre acl.
For those of you who really play corner you should know sherman was in Cover 3 and playing bail on some of the plays or off. It means you have deep even if the Reciever stops you still have to cover deep. Odell had 1 big play the Rest was the defense fault or the Curl to Flat player.
Sean Haymes because Seahawks are supposed be man coverage defense yet when came to giants they decided do zone why? Because they weren't confident on man on man vs Odell why they doubled on him and had Sherman do zone allow Odell get passes but seal him from running more yards after catch that's why Odell is such great player he forces defenses change their strategy and focus on him so giving offense a chance explode
Eloy yumps you're right the Seahawks with the number one defense that made it to the super bowl were scared of a rookie Odell with only one 100 yard game up to that point...cause that makes perfect sense
Shermans coverage was basically perfect on most of these. I feel like most of OBJ’s plays were pretty lucky (aside from the 44-yarder etc) and plus there wasnt much man to man, and sherman got made that play that got them the pick so overall i say sherman won by just a little bit.
@@colesliva5751 yes he did overall win this the reasoning to that is because when Sherman actually played man coverage there was that one burned play and then richard caused in interception the next man press so yes he did
Honestly that’s why Sherman would never be a great corner to me. He is great for what Seattle asked him to do no doubt but great corners make it their jobs to follow the best receiver and take him out of the game
ODEAL IS THE BEST SO HO EVER WANT TO SAY ODEAL IS NOT GOOD WHO MADE THAT FAMOUS CACTH AGAINST THE COWBOYS YES ODEAL HE HAS THE SPEED AND HANDS YOU CANT STOP HIM HE IS THE BEST EVER YOU CAN NOT JAM HIM HE CAN CREAT HIS OWN SPACE.
Veronica Dorsey he is not as close as being as good as Antonio brown or Julio Jones or even at green he’s the 4th best the best is Antonio brown then Julio Jones then an green then obj and if you still don’t believe look at the stats of these 3 players and compare them to obj I promise al of those 3 players are gonna have way better stats than obj and still don’t believe me I’ll just tell you something else too Antonio brown was drafted in 2010 Julio Jones was drafted in 2011 and obj was drafted in 2014 which means that they have more experience and also Antonio brown and Julio Jones are faster than obj and have better hands than obj and go on a video and the title is most open dropped passes in the nfl and 3 of them were Odell and he was so open and still dropped it and Antonio brown or Julio Jones wasnt on that list once and Antonio brown and Julio Jones would’ve caught the passes that obj dropped
Veronica Dorsey and also you are dumb jerry rice is the best ever in the nfl and obj is not even close to being one of the best and he’s not even close to being even in the top 30 wide receivers of all time
3:07. Eli, this was not your fault. You gave OBJ a perfectly thrown ball and he couldn’t come up with it and it got tipped and picked. This was not on you
Bob Robert please tell me how he won... I know they were playing zone but on the 1 on 1 for a 45 gain Sherman couldn't keep up and even off the release Sherman was getting turned lol, Sherman's only good play was the last play which shouldn't even have been thrown to Odell. The ball was underthrown & idk why Eli thought Odell 5'11 would manage to catch it over a 6'3 corner especially when they are right against the sideline
He is a great reciever dude. Give him a quarterback like Brady, Rodgers, or Smith and he would be a lot better. Him and manning arent even that bad together.
Royal Galaxy It’s not a fumble because his elbow hit the floor and and he had possession with a catch. He just got up and ran because you’re taught to play to the whistle
Yousif Alsaedi when Sherman played man coverage he got burned for a big play. Coaches only play a certain defense if they know their player's can do it.
7 catches for 108 yards......and Eli missed him several times when he had beaten Sherman. You either don't know football or are some Richard Sherman jock sniffer.
You definitely don't actually know football, because all you know is how stats work. He gained maybe 50-60 on Sherman in man all game, the rest was against zone coverage, notice how he didn't score a TD all game and also notice how at the end Sherman had OBJ's ass locked up and when Eli threw it to him Sherman tipped it and caused a pick to end the game. He couldn't come through against Sherman when it mattered most.
