Odin vs Galactus - Odin's Last Resort 

The good old days whern a character's power level was respected and not nerfed...missed those days.

Back when Galactus was a terrifying cosmic force, before he was given the worst retcon in Marvel history.

When Galactus was actually a threat and was given the utmost respect.

Alternative title: The respect they deserve. (Dont actually make this the title lol just hold this in your heart like a true comic fan) The way the allfather fights Galactus is so philosophical as well not just punching and dancing. This is just so awesome!

Back when Odin was written as he was meant to be. Before Marvel had him neutered. Great writing. Odin unable to match Galactus in open battle for long wisely confronts him on the mental plane. I had no problem with Odin and Big G’s battle but got tired of the hammer board fight between Thor and Surfer it could have been a lot better and versatile.

Could you imagine modern-day Odin actually stalemating Galactus? You just don't see things like that anymore.

I remember when this first came out, I went and bought it and I still have it. It was so epic reading it and waiting for the next issue to come out. Also the song suits this battle so well.

I love the way Thor's Cape and Silver Surfer's board stretch back off the panel when they move, it's a really simple yet cool effect.

Coipel is just magnificent when it comes to Thor's titles.

This really goes to show how powerful the top tier Celestials. Here you have an average Galactus being scared to fight Destroyer Armor Odin with Mjolnir. Where against the top tier Celestials. Odin used the Destroyer Armor along with the Odinsword while also drawing upon all the souls of the asgardians for power.

When Galactus invades we know it is a ODIN Level Threat!!!

I always get the feeling that The Surfer never puts his best foot forward in any fight. Even when he fought King Thanos as The Fallen One, he didn't seem to cut loose.

I don't quite get it. Did Galactus just say, "screw it, I'm out of here" when Odin/destroyer got mjolnir? or did Odin transport him away?

Back when Odin had the full power of the Odin force but now he's a washed up drunk that gets tossed around like a tin can by his own children Lols Thanos will probably kill Odin off in Cates run and let's hope he stays dead much like Galactus and Sentry because Marvel has no idea what to do with Odin. Speaking of Cates run why is thanos always the one destroying the Marvel universe and then later regretting it and wanting to be heroic? Why can't Marvel writers use other villains outside of thanos that are more interesting? We already know thanos will get some asspull power and take over the universe, Donny Cates could have easily used Atum the God eater as a main villain of Thor a threat so powerful Odin knew it would eventually kill him and all pantheons of God's

Should've been a stomp from the get go. I remember Galactus once called the destroyer a "toy" before making it his Herald, there is zero reason for him to be concerned about it now.

By the logic, Galactus is above skyfathers/elder gods, becuz he can fight Celestials in 1vs1 well Fed. Thor and Odin hits him, but Galam has regeneration, so Odin headbutt K.O. himself more than K.Oing Galan. 0:44 its Just my fascination with ome shot comic monsters kicking in but I always loved the cosmic demons! Reminded me of constellations being outlined into the things they represent, simple but eerie! took me a while to understand odin and Galactus were having a telepathic battle too though pfft,

I think Galans new title should be "Galactus the jobber".

These days Galactus is as much of a threat as rush hour traffic. He can easily be beaten by stealing his powers, developing a weapon, or having a character get an upgrade. I think what DC did with true Darkseid is lame but marvel should get Galactus close to the top of the hierarchy again.

Great Thor story! Galactus at his full power and a cosmic force of nature, Odin at his full power and one of the most powerful Earth gods duking it out! But I never understood why Odin refused to give the seed to Galactus

In that armor was Odin´s soul, mjolnir and seed. Galactus wanted to eat it to became new God after Multiverse end. That seed is from Ygdrasill. In modern 2010´s comics was said that Ygdrassil hold infinite of realities(multiverse). So it was maybe power of the seed under control of Odin in brutal armor, what was Galactus scared.

Epic f*cking battle, I was not aware that Odin was THAT powerful. Are all the high-fathers as powerful as Odin? For those of you who weren't able to follow. Galactus didn't teleport away just because he's afraid of the Destroyer, he's not. The world seed and the Destroyer teleported away, and Galactus teleported to follow them, that's why he said, "where?" and then teleported.

This was a great fight. Odin is on par with Galen but loses energy faster. Galen knew he couldn't take Destroyer Odin

So wait galactus teleported away because he feared the destroyers power?

Galactus and CELESTIAL, kept low profile to help big picture coronations, cates too, but the blue military, wasn't happy Taking off BTS from queen chamber, and overall art.

It really doesn't add up.. The Odin Force can LITERALLY destroy entire Galaxies due to the nature of his VAST Mystical powers. This is a cannon, folks. Yet, someone that relies in eating a mere Planet in to in order to survived appeared to have more energy at the end of this confrontation? Who writes this stuff, anyway? What's more, Odin (who happens to be the ONLY TRUE warrior between these two with CENTURIES of battle experience), decides to headbutt Galactus instead of punching the lights out of him, or running him through with his spear. It's quite clear that the writer was protecting Galactus at all cost- for someone like Odin does not need the Destroyer in the least to battle someone like Galactus... Odin last resort, indeed.. Heck, even Thor defeated Galactus with a god blast.. So I guess tbe writer thinks that Odin can't produced a similar blast; never mind one more powerful..

I see it has Odin shifted his essence into the Destroyer and called for the Hammer for he has more control over it then even Thor . The battle was about to get physical ..Galactus sensing that the seed was not there was like why risk if there is no reward . Galactus is ruthless but not a warrior like the Asgardians who live to fight. Galactus is looking to survive . He doesn’t just attack worlds for the sport of it ..and like most hunters he would rather go for one with less of a fight ( hence he doesn’t look to attack Asgard , Mt Olympus or Realms of Gods etc ) on of the best story arcs for Thor ..the most recent ones are weak ..bring back All father Odin at full strength ..and stick Thor back on earth with his comrades

But it makes for good conversation.

I'm thinking Silver Surfer was about to join the fight. Besides, Silver Surfer gave homeboy some common sense. Galactus fighting a land of God's will get him exterminated no matter what. Odin headbutt wasn't enough for Galactus to change his mind and leave. You never seen Odin go all out like this. Homeboy was facing Thanos and made him look like amateur. I guess the magnitude of power differs.

How it should be. Galactus is more older, more experienced, more powerful as he is the brother of death and eternity and is placed in the cosmic hierarchy unlike the skyfathers who can't even harm one celestial back then. Gods doesn't mean anything in Marvel, that's just how the hierarchy works. Cosmic over Mythology.

Galactus is a universal-level threat while Odin is a planetary deity. It should be no contest, but nowadays, Galactus gets pushed over by the Avengers or soloed by Thor. Thor has also killed a Celestial while before, they just ignored him.

Its a great comic as a standalone, but this is jobbing for Galactus dude should smash odin most times of course odin can do damage and prolly take maybe a hit or 2 . It is a good comic also love the music you put over
