IjebuLand and Egba Land people were the first to add Ofada rice 2 party menu list then it became so popular outside these two locations...d origin of Ofada rice & sauce is Yoruba land...it has to be green peppers & green tomatoes with bleached palmoil...the stew must b spicy & peppery😂
I made ofada sauce few days ago and I got lots of people saying I made stew.they said it was supposed to be green and I tried explaining to them that ayamase is different from ofada but them no gree o 😂
No, sweetie, ofada source originated from Abeokuta, South West of Nigeria and it is prepared with green pepper and bleached palm oil. So i will say you got it other way round.
Let's say Yoruba Land generally coz Ijebu local settlers( people) still sell Ofada rice by d road side .... growing up ,it is not Ofada rice if it's not served wt green peppers & green tomatoes wt bleached palmoil
he/she says south west he means all Yorubas, whether ijebu or other Yorubas both sauces are eaten alike. Though I prefer just saying Yoruba because of Yorubas not classified south west obviously eat the same thing. The red one is called Lafenwa sauce , the green is called Ayamase.
Thank you so much, when I tell people that ofada rice sauce is red pepper, they always say NO it not, thanks for this, I will show my friends this video.
