This off-grid cabin in the woods was built by Todd’s dad in 2001 for the entire family and is simple living at it’s finest…this tiny home was an escape for everyone but life got busy, the angsty “too good for it” teenage set in and eventually no one came at all. It might not have electricity or running water but it does have a river running right in front of it and a cozy fireplace for heat and cooking.
If you’ve been following our channel for a little while you might know that we’ve been living and traveling full time in an RV as digital nomads. So much has changed with our future plans and we can’t wait to share what’s happening in next weeks video…it will still involve travel, vlogs, RV life, and the effort to show that being a gay couple is the exact same as any straight couple but it just might mean putting roots down somewhere a little more permanent! #cabin #offgrid #gaycouple

Awe, me & my husband love when you guys upload. You remind us of us when we were a bit younger & if we were living another life. But our adventures were our children...but now that they're fully grown, it's just us, our 2 furbabies & eventually our floating home. We are 41 & 42 years old...just wait you two. Everything changes once you hit the 40's. You are fully comfortable in your skin, unapologetic in being yourself & have absolutely no f***s to give when it comes to how you appear physically or what the world thinks about it. You will age, & it's an absolute blessing to be able to do so. Many, especially in our community, don't ever get the chance to grow older. Keep the vids coming, they're so calming and reassuring in these really uncertain times we're all living through right now. 😀🌈🏳️‍🌈

Tyler and Todd Thank you posting these videos during the pandemic if you do adventure off please do wear a mask things are good back in the USA 🇺🇸 for me except it sucks I am missing the swimming 🏊‍♀️ pool but I’m more devastated because I don’t have a spring and summer swim season it’s a big sting I was training in Florida and I come back and it gets shut down and canceled it’s crazy but with the Olympics postpone till 2021 it’s put some comfort knowing I can’t be finished yet I’m missing college basketball it’s sucks that’s the worst my 18 years as a basketball season ticket holder for college hoops was a bust hate it but your videos are making me smile 😊 I just absolutely love you guys

@@tylerandtodd I've been wondering how/why you happened to name your boys Charlie and Eddie. hey are unusual for a dog. Folks used to say I was mean to name my wonderful Shepherd/Boxer+ "Mutt". We thought it was perfect and as playful as he was. Got him at 3 mos. old from the shelter and had that great friend for more than16 years. I still cry thinking of him today, 40 yrs later.

You guys should be really proud of yourselves to have achieved self-actualization at such a young age. At 30 I was still chasing societies norms and didn’t get to where you are until late 50s. It has taken over a decade to deconstruct all the b.s. materialism I acquired over a lifetime of living someone else’s dream. Congratulations!!!! Hi Guys, good to hear you're coming into your "inner own". Now you are discovering what most families strive for: To live their lives in honesty and love, not pretending to be more than they are, but discovering they are much more than they ever imagined. Sure, all that big-city stuff (know it well) is fun and exiting, and indeed, it is itself a learning process. One doesn't have to trash "the material", but it's only a step to something more important. Some, like young families, are lucky enough to know the important stuff from the beginning-- their children, their love, just like yours, you know. We're all just people. Keep safe, remember others are just doing the same.

It's remarkable that after not being used for so long it hasn't been damaged by vermin or bears (the wild kind).... or teenagers, lol I love watching the boys enjoy the outdoors. We had to put our Golden down due to cancer last year... seeing them run and enjoy the rain gave me the feels... thanks for that.

Sometimes the time isn’t right until you age into the exact right time. Nothing wrong with that. ‘To everything there is a season’. Youth is intended (in the first world) to experiment, experience and find who you want to be and who you are. In the third world, everyone is trying to survive - except the top echelon. We’re SO lucky.

I'm not sure how I came upon your site but I love watching you and the boys. Your talk at lunch over your beautiful sounding sandwiches was really sweet - your comfortable in your own skins comes with getting a little older and wiser and you appreciate it even more when you've come out of your 'self absorbed teens ' (something we all get through). Hey Guys! Greetings from a drizzly evening here in LA. Things are rather strange everywhere, so following you north has been a vicarious treat. I'm so glad you left when you could, all things considered, you have been able see the best, and skirt the worst of it. The BF & I are on total lock down. He still works (as a caregiver) but other than the guy he works for, each other are the only ones we see. Lines to get in any supermarket is the new norm, 'Social distancing', as well as face masks EVERY time you leave the house. It's a bit like Soviet Russia...lol...but we have each other, cats, and both our gardens, with all this free time, look amazing! You might think that you are "maturing" in all this process, but honestly, the choices and plans you have been making all along are so much more mature than a lot of people, and that makes it a pleasure to join you each week. I always enjoy seeing your progress, how ever it goes. Much Love and Light to you both (& Charlie and Eddy!)

The warm fuzzy pleasure of seeing you guys and the boys each week intensifies. I cant tell you how much it makes me feel so happy, the smile broadens as I watch. I adored the dance sequence. Thank you for letting us all join. The quirkiness of the log cabin reminds me of a few holidays in Provence, France, a small holding in a little hamlet owned by a friend's family. Hi guys! This reminded me of the cabin in Yosemite we would stay in. When I was real young it didn't have electricity or running water There was a pump over the spring we had to prime and an outhouse. My mother's family had been going there since she was a girl. When electricity and indoor plumbing was put in my grandmother great aunt and mother sounded as if the world had come to an end! saying that's why we loved coming there. I do love the memory of sitting in front of the wood stove at night to stay warm before bed. We were so lucky!

Nice cabin, I would have been there all the time if nearby. Now that you are less "busy", you have time to reflect on your aging process. Living off grid, takes up more time doing just the daily routine stuff.... hmmm you failed to mentioned showers and how you were going to the bathroom! You said you were pretending to be someone and that you are coming to some realizations. As you get older, you will hopefully care less about the little things and what other people think. Don't think about that someday you will get it together. You have it together now and you are living your life now. You guys crack me up when you play games. Cheating and competitveness, reminds me of my Monopoly marathons when I was young (before cell phones and computers). I was fantasizing about how that spring water tastes and the smell of the wood fire. Stay safe and healthy cuties.

Loved your vid guys, I especially noticed how quickly the pups adapted, dogs don’t need all the modern lifestyle goodies, they’re happy as long as they are with you. I live in Perth Western Australia and our State government has prohibited non essential travel between our state regions. I’m stuck in the smallest region around our state capital Perth. Not allowed to visit other states either. The plus side is that we have the lowest infection and death rate in the world. I’m so envious of that cabin in that awesome location. I can't express how good it is to sit down, with the intention to watch one of your clips for a 20 minute break in daily life, and then to find myself still sitting here 3 - 4 - 5 clips in, and literally feeling my reserves of peace, admiration, wee bit of envy, and just overall "feel-good-ness" filling up and overflowing (yeah I know that's not a proper word) because you two have reached out to share your passage through life with the world. I agree with you guys, life is going to look a lot different on the other side of this. I remember with 9/11, people changed so much, although the country was only shut down one week. There was much humanity, empathy, fragility and community, it shaped my generation. I think that the Millennial generation are going to feel this the rest of their lives.

Oh, how I envy you two...Have many memories of the of the same experiences you are having now. Miss being at the cabin, but the memories will always be in my mind and heart. At night, listening to country music on the radio, hearing the crackling of the fire and playing "Kings Corners" by kerosene lamp. The two of you could live in a cave and I would still see nothing but love, romance, and chemistry. That’s not to say the cabin in the woods is in any way cave like. It’s to say I believe the love you share is immeasurable, all conquering, and simply beautiful.

The cottage is nice, the surrounding nature is enchanting, silence and peace give you relief... your affectionate dogs are a discreet company and, above all, you are young and you love each other. We’re all learning and discovering things about ourselves in these strange times. What a beautiful part of the world to find yourselves hunkered down in. Our big test is coming this weekend, with Easter break, 36 degrees forecast and the beach a couple of hundred metres at the end of our street, but we have stay in. We are all doing the right thing and it looks like we might be turning the corner in the battle here.(fingers crossed) Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Love sharing your life experiences.

I know I’m old, but I remember a few family trips to cabins of ours and friends in the boonies, and a water source, which you have, is a gift from heaven. Several had filtering systems for the water, one needed further treatment which required two stage cistern tanks before the water was drinkable. There were a series of small pumps to move the water and one large one to get the water up to the largest tank. No doubt filtering systems have improved since then, I’m sure there are much more eloquent ways to do it now. But water by bucket... there has to be a better way. 😁

Congratulations for your lifestyle and the 10 years of togetherness as a loving couple ...It is beautiful as it so much reminds me of my life as a couple with my dear Mike, who passed away 10 years ago ... we have been together for 44 years. We met in London, UK back in 1966 ... It was love at first sight, it struck us so strongly that we never left each other again. Be happy my RU-vid friends, love each other and be safe !

Love the cabin.../.it's so big !!! I'll come help with some rustic decor !!! You all would be a family anywhere and you do not know how people would give anything to have what you've got. The land and steam are beautiful. The cabin is...a cabin. You guys are a hoot, love the dynamics. Charley & Eddie are such great dogs. Love Goldens & Labs. Await you next vlog. My Husband & I are holding up in this COVID19 until it's safe. Thankfully we have each other & so far not too much yelling; hopefully we will get through this without throwing kitchen utensils. Listening to Trump on tv is enough to drive me batshit crazy.
