Wow, Jericho is super candid. You've got to respect this guy. He puts his personal integrity ahead of everything even if it costs him. Also I think the reason we (the fans) love him so much is because we can tell he's a huge fan too. It's like 'one of us' as a wrestler. The Rock used to be the people's champ but in reality Jericho defines that much more.
hell no i was sooooo mad when he won the undisputed... i was like 10 and i loved Stone Cold & The Rock and the fact Jericho won the belt was such a damn shame!!! In the long run i respect Jericho such a good heel
great wrestler ... he's up there with Shawn Michaels, it's not egotistical of him to say he's up there with about half a dozen guys who are the greatest performers, I think it was wrestlemania 19 against HBK, great great match, felt like old school wwf late 80s stuff ... and love the compliments on steamboat, he didn't know steamboat would job to him at wrestlemania 25 ... hell ..i reckon jericho would've offered to job to him
Thing is; he's got half hour to do an interview with commercials on top of it. He needs to get a quick answer and move on to the next question. Im not a fan of it, but thats what he has to do to get through his questions.
I love it when a wrestler rips into the crowd and that comment from you was my favorite thing I ever heard a wrestler call the crowd. And by the looks of the comment it was in reply to, it was very fitting.
+zackvanhalen Wrestlers billed heights are often about 4 to 5 inches shorter than their actual heights. Look at Andre being billed at 7'5 when he wrestled Hogan. Haha.
I think because with how wrestling inflates heights when you hear a guy like Jericho say he's 6ft it's hard to digest. It takes you aback because it's only something you'd hear a 9 year old say in real life.
Jericho does have a way to rub people the wrong way. I disagree with his comments about Savage and his style (well known he liked to have everything lined up) compared to the "improv" that others like. They are both "Great" workers and " True" professionals.
@Ciferredux It's competition. Triple H deserved his moment in 2002. Arguably the year of his career. Rock vs Hogan was one of the greatest WM matches of all time. And don't diss Scott Hall. Steve did say he wasn't happy with his match with Scott, but I doubt Scott was happy with the fact that Steve DEMANDED he win after Scott was booked to win (with interference from Nash so Austin still looked stronger
just to put it candidly, i think he's atleast a little inspired by him being a singer and being a professional performer and also looking a bit like him face wise, but that may be just me. It's not like chris aint his own person or nothin haha
It's interesting you make that comparison. I'm a huge Layne fan also. I think back at the time this interview was conducted, possibly a little resemblance. But Jericho currently... No way. His personality is..... Wayyyy different.
Chris, YOU ARE NOT 6ft Tall! not sure you are even 5' 10. You passed by me once in Denton Tx, I am 5' 11'', and you were way shorter than me... Not hating!
Does anyone even remember that Main Event? Rock and Hogan robbed that show. By the way, cute. He thought he was the No.1 guy in the company and not a transitional champion.
Jericho ain't fat man! Granted, he was a little chubby over the last two years, but he's been doing that DDP yoga and he looks awesome. It's because he wears pants rather than trousers now. For some reason the pants make him look fat whereas in trousers he looks in great shape. What a weird conversation.
Mate I'm completely confident that Jericho, if he wanted to, could be booked to main event, hold belts whilst still out-performing almost everyone in the ring and better then on the mic. I still get chills when I watch his debut in 99. BUT! He has his band, he already has his legacy. He wants to put young guys over. He knows that he ISN'T the future, but guys like Curtis (Fandango) really are, even if the current gimmick is horrific. Guys like The Shield, Ziggy, Swagger, Kofi, 3MB. Y2J is a hero
didnt big show(giant) win the wcw belt... anyways Y2J is very talented and i am a fan but growing up if i saw y2j as wcw champ instead of hogan sting goldberg etc.. i wouldn't of been so into it although he is 10000x better than nash on mic and in ring.
@Ciferredux So yes, he was pissed. In fact, he through a big bitchfit and in the process he buried arguably WCW's biggest tag team. It was booked to be like a handicapped match so Austin wouldn't complain, and he did anyway. In fact, they changed in THE DAY OF Wrestlemania. Overworked? Steve worked like 20 times in 2000, was busy in 01, but did very little in 02. And you think Austin was the victim? You sound like a mark who wants Stone Cold to main event every show and win every match.
In order to push them he needs to be better not become a jobber. wrestling used to keep the older guys to draw the crowd and let them build them self..........lol y2j cut down wcw but wcw made him Tv worthy for a impact when he first arrived in wwf
He was chubby around 08-10 yeah. Much better shape now. I loved his Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla gimmick. And he should never have cut that glorious mane of hair he once possessed. But his gimmick is stale now because of the new direction of the company. He was suspended for disrespecting the Brazilian flag. Michaels humped the Canadian flag and blew his nose on it and was never suspended. WWE has to keep the sponsors happy now. It's the money train.
he's not fat not now but, he was and I just don't like his new hair cut or the way he talks now I was hoping he would return as the old Jericho but, sadly he is the same old boring guy from 2010
+Dylan_the_Messiah Eddie, Jericho, and Benoit drew more money on their wrestlemanias, and drew better attendance during their runs than Nash ever did in wwe
Benoit and Guerero were great staple wrestlers. They weren't the best but they defined pro wrestling. Eddie had such a good act and Benoit had great wrestling skills. Malenko was respected behind the scenes.
Didn’t deserve to be champ ?!?!? He is one of the greatest performers ever to lace a pair of boots. He basically won every title that there is to win and deserved to be the first ever Undisputed Champion. He’s got more technical skills in the ring then most wrestlers. Go back a do your research look at the matches he has had against guys like Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Edge.
