felt this. 2005 was the final straw for me, but from what i see on social media feeds and other people it’s on the upside again , i’m just older now and can’t find time to watch.
@@jennifertimlin1371 He may not have been ready then. During your walk you're given the strength to do things when God says. If not you can make a mistake.
As we all know, the only reason why HBK came back in 2002 was his buddy HHH told him “Look… Austin is gone. Rock is gone. We can take over Raw now”. And that’s what happened.
His guaranteed money ended March of 2002. They've lied about his injury. He should've been back in December of 98 or early 99 but wcw let wrestlers play both sides. Vincevlet him stay home and get high for 4 years
I think what shawn meant by that is that Bret convinced those who are so called well documenters of shawns motives. Doesnt make it true cause a lot of the boys say it.
@@DevelopmentofAvoid no, this is just Shawn still lying and bullshitting even after he found god. There are numerous people who say Shawn was still a dickhead in WWE after he became a reformed character and Bret Hart had been long gone from the company by then....to pin everybody's negative opinions towards Shawn on Bret's comments is ridiculous and a total cop out
So if a few people say or believe something, that means it's proven true? What if those other people only said it based on assumptions of it happening based on rumors or based on their bias towards Bret? The fact is you dont know if it's true and neither do I.
Thing is both sides hade their own issues back then not just bret and not just shawn, BOTH OF THEM, it's a testament that shawn can still be a dickhead when undertaker of all people would put you in your place if you did not do according to the business
I love how all of you people bash on Shawn yet without him in the mid 90's, the WCW would have most likely won the war. Before Steve Austin and the Rock took off, it was mainly him and Taker keeping them alive even though they were still losing.
DopeAsCopeBrother if shawn joined wcw, and IK scott and kevin would've accommodated him into the nwo regardless if fucking sulk hoegan's ego was in the way. Would've killed to see that happening tbh, but anyways, that would've killed the wwf right fucking there.
Shawn wasn't saving the company, he was the top guy when WCW started consistently beating the WWF. Granted it wasn't totally his fault, the WWF roster was really thin w/ Hall, Nash, & Bret gone for most of '96, but he was definitely not helping the situation. Really, he was the 1st guy I can remember getting the Cena/Roman treatment as the top face. Watch SvS '96, the crowd totally turned on him for Sid.
richard h Shawn was getting the loudest pops out of anyone in the years 95-96. The NYC crowd loved Shawn. What happened was, after he won the title, the little bit of edginess HBK still had as a babyface was taken away because Vince wanted him to be "full on, squeaky clean babyface". The crowds saw right through that. Also, by the time Survivor Series '96 came around, Shawn had been champ for 8 months. The fans wanted something new. Sid was also over like rover. That's why the SS '96 crown turned on him.
As much as I like Shawn he was completely lying throughout this entire interview because everybody knew how he was back in the 90s before he quote-unquote got saved
Even though he stopped drinking and doing drugs according to Gregory helms and Matt hardy and a few other wrestlers he still was a douche behind the scenes which doesn't surprise me at all
Yeah, because it's totally not like other people can't lie and don't have motives of their own. Also, you do realize your keyboard has quotation keys, right?
Here's something to think about Bret: Scott Hall, Steve Austin, HBK, Piper, Perfect, Bulldog Owen, Benoit, Nash, all said that Bret gave them their best matches they ever had He was 1 of 2 men in the most famous match of all time. Won his first title from flair Headlined 80,000 fans at Wimbley for a title that was not the world title Just something to think of when you hear the counter argument from people like Flair who said he never drew a dime, Bret was such a staple in the 90s wwf it's almost like comparing him to tim duncan, not flashy, not out there scoring 40, not breaking any ankles, but one of the main reasons the spurs have become a dynasty.
Shawn will always be my personal favorite. He was so good that my peanut sized 10yr old brain knew how special he was inside the ring. (I seen Him and Razor have a dark ladder match when I was kid. It was dope af) God bless him 🙏
@@jumpinjohnnyruss lol and you wouldn't be saying that sh*t if you weren't a godless heathen who disliked Shawn. (Shawn makes you question your own self worth) 2) It doesn't take a religious man to admit Shawn was the best 3) Shawn "pandering" to some guy he doesn't know is some next level "manipulation." I'm glad he's taken such an interest in what I think about him...but he really should be more concerned with his family
The Goat? His promos sucked. U cant be the Goat and u losing the Monday Night Wars to WCW and old school wrestlers. Thats not GOAT status. Top 10 of all time? Yes. GOAT no way. HBK and Bret Hart couldnt sell out arenas. That right there shows there not the best of all time. Macho Man is the GOAT. Could wrestle, do promos, and had a great look. Name 1 wrestler who was 10/10 in each of these categories.
@@humblehugh23 stone cold vs hbk with mike tyson feud is what swung the ratings war back to wwf...dx laid the foundation for the attitude era and if you think his promos sucked during the 97 98 dx days then i got two words for ya
This is why Bret said when he and Shawn finally buried the hatchet ... that Shawn had been carrying around this ton of guilt ... and in making peace, they both finally let go. Moreover, Shawn had been wanting to come clean on his side of the story for a while, but Vince kept holding him back, wanting to take all the blame. Can't imagine it must have been easy, being a Christian, having a conscience, and still having to cover up. That sort of stuff eats into you.
At one point in his life, Shawn was apparently full of demons, be it drug problems, psychological issues, health issues. It might sound cheesy, but he really has been acting like a class act ever since getting religious and stuff.
That explains why Undertaker was ready to assault HBK before the WM14 main event, because Shawn was ready to lay down when the boss said so, just like he did for Vader. Oh, wait
@@LongHuynh-bx5ll no actually it's not a myth. The Undertaker has confirmed this as fact. I'm sure The Undertaker knows more about the situation than you would ever think you know.
@@michaelhernandez8772 No, what the other guy said is true, undertaker never threaten shawn before his match with austin(that's why shawn denies it happened). nypost.com/2020/11/12/wwes-undertaker-talks-shawn-michaels-wrestlemania-14-taping-story/
He didn't threaten him personally... But he was ready who open up a can of whoop ass on Shawn Michaels before Steve Austin, in case Michaels was going to refuse to do the Job. Multiple people have confirmed that, including Undertaker himself.
Shane Helms said Shawn's Born Again gimmick was exactly that, a gimmick. Judging from this interview, I believe him. Shawn doesn't admit to anything. He makes vague references to bad shit he did in the past, but denies every specific accusation. Before trying to turn Bret Hart's anger around on him, with a fun little bullshit comment about all the forgiveness in his heart. If Shawn actually did turn his life around because of religion, good for him. Not the path I would have taken, but I'm not Shawn Michaels. But this whole interview reeks of salvation-for-show.
Nah he's legit born again but he struggles with his demons like all people that is why once in a while you'll see old shawn pop up There's no way he is a faking it Shawn is a very different dude
I was surprised to see the way he talks in this interview, but that's only because I've seen interviews after this where he has been far more humble than this. I'm firmly in Bret Hart's camp, as I am a fan on him, but I will say that Bret pulled no punches in his comment. Nor should he have. But it's got to be hard for anyone to sit there and take that comment. He is barely a year clean in this interview, from the change I've seen when he's spoken in later interviews, there seems to be a definite change in him. I also think, that a lot of stuff people have said about him isn't true, even though he was an asshat.
The "Boy toy" & the "Cerebral Assassin" tried to bury the Rock back in the WrestleMania XV days, trying to get HHH into Rock's spot and look how the Rock became bigger than either of those two ever will be.
Donald Davis II maybe in movies ....like flair said to Hogan his first go in the wwf at the time now wwe...whatever..my point being is flair told Hogan in the funeral parler he said quote"Hulk big man whooo!!! wile you were out making movies I was out winning world championships.whoop!!!!" so I disagree and I love Dwayne (ROCK).....NOT SAYING YOUR WRONG BUT IN 16 YEARS PASS LMK IF YA FILL THE SAME .....
The Rock never was is and never will be bigger then HBK no one and I mean no one can touch HBK in wrestling it never was it never has and never will be HBK is the all father of wrestling where you like it or hate it but it's the daam Truth
***** he asks questions no other anchor would ask, seems like he is a fan of wrestling because his questions are fan based, unlike larry king and others who always ask for a close ended answers.
+Marvin D he cuts them off when they are trying to void giving a straight answer. Best anchor ever because he keeps them on point and doesn't let them piss around with fluffy bullshit answers.
@@humblehugh23 because it takes the entire company to do so, Ted Turner put a lot of $$ to smother vince and wwf at the time. No one performed better than Michaels in the ring, everyone knows that, psh
Shawn: *speaks on Curt Henning's loss and what a tragedy it is...* Host: "you know what Shawn? I'm gonna cut you off. Thanks for being on the show." Man, this show was just something else.
+Steven Taylor The show is only 30 minutes long. HBK is the greatest wrestler of all time in my opinion but not a really great interview. He tends to ramble on and on without getting to the point. If Landsberg doesn't do this the interview would go nowhere.
Stingar Sting is a 12 year old kid who is up past his bedtime. His parents are going to be mad when they find out he is still on his computer. It's a school night son.
Born Again Shawn: Thank you very much, and thank you for putting me in that class of big names even though i'm probably down the bottom there. 90s Dickhead Shawn: Hell no I wont put anyone over ever might as well just lose my smile and go home
Point blank: Bret Hart refused to drop the belt, Bret hart was leaving to WCW, Bret Hart didn't do the right thing; thus forcing Vince's hands'.. he's the boss and at the end of the day, as Stone Cold says, Bret got fired.. end of story.
Will Smith Of course they would run with the joke after Hitman left, the momentum worked both ways only WCW couldn't capitalize on the Hitman 'cause Bischoff didn't know what to do with him and Bret would've been grossly out of place in the Attitude Era.

Bret Hart should've put him over; not because Shawn is a great guy but because that's how the business went for generations. You lay down when the boss says lay down; or he'll make you lay down...that's how it is in this industry.
Im not talking about in montreal. Im talking about before wm 13 when he was meant to drop the belt he faked an injury and 'lost his smile' cos he didn't want to put anyone over.
Im a person who grew up in the church I been around church ppl all my life I can tell when sum1 say they are born again christian and love the lord and when they are real or fake and full of it and I bet all the ppl here the ?ed shawn's faith being real or wrestlers sayin he was fakin and other ppl on other pod cast bet any money they dont go to church or dont even claim to no the lord and be a christian so how u no shawn's faith is fake Ive read where they say he keep changin his story shawn has been sayin the same thing for last 21 yrs. And as a christian myself I no how it when u have faith n god that ur goin to be ok and shawn had faith enough in the lord to go back to wrestling undertaker couldnt stand 1990s shawn and said he wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire but loves the shawn of today said they good friends he even said he could tell he was changed when he first came back and if taker is sayin shawn is a better person u can believe it and the undertaker is a born again christian too. And the lord forgives and i dont believe shawn should still have to keep explaining himself from how he was then
Yea. I kind of feel like Bret reminds me if a spoiled whiny brat. Where if he doesn't get his way Everytime he whines about it.. but then again at some point everybody whines when they don't get their way. But I do agree that Bret doesn't want to be responsible for his part.
wow its amazing how God can completely transform people when he want to. can anybody notice how Shawn has changed? he would be this humble if it wasn't of being born of Christ. surely Christ lives. i'm still shocked that this was shawn talking there, different tone al togather
@Dust Devil he talked in wrestling mags about making a in ring comeback and training a year out now he pretends God told him to get back in the ring....WACK
Yeah, he was talking about Bret Hart. Look at the interviews from others who were there at the time including Austin who know it was Bret Hart who didn't submit to authority and give Vince the title when he told him to.
Some may say the point of salvation through Christ is to turn your life around. You can't have salvation and continue to be the same guy. I'm glad for Shawn and his decision to give his life away in spite of what he's done leading up to that decision.
would lansberg shut the fuck up and let his guesst speak, they can barely get a word in when they come onto his show.i was disguisted at how he disrespected cm punk and his ufc career.all lansberg wanted to do was talk about vince in wwe and the day punk left.lansberg should taken cm punks choice to go mma seriously(the justin bieber joke was uncalled for by him.punk was been respectful even despite the stupid questions being asked.punk was an exceptional wrestler and i have huge respect for him more or less telling vince and hunter to go fuck themselves.the only thing punk should never have said was that hewould have thrived in the attitude era to austins face, that was disrespecful, similarily there is no way that cena would have survived wcw back in the early 1990s.orton and lesnar would have, correction lesnar would have survived the powerplant, but he would just be a blue chipper wrestler feuding with goldberg.
Well, he was in the first ladder match, hell in a cell and iron man match of which is one of the most famous matches in WWF history, he formed DX which was the most powerful group in WWF during their very successful period, won several world championships, when he won the iron man match he made Vince a heel after the iron man match(of which has definitely changed the WWF).
@@danielocean3699 Shawn was extremely wild in the 90’s and really played his “Sexy Boy” image to a T. He was burying alot of wrestlers and made out with almost every chick that came his way before he converted.
is the first time in my life that i see this, finally i know why Shawn Michaels never turn heel again because he's a born again christian, i thought he was always a christian person
The severity of his injury was greatly exaggerated, as he went hypochondriac to dodge getting someone over Also, the kliq stepped on half the wwf roster
No, go to 12: 52 of the video. There is nothing confusing about this. Shawn said that if he had to do it all over again he would take the same course of action in Montreal. He's justifies it by saying that the Bible says to submit to authority. Shawn says, "My boss asked me to do a job, and I went out there and did it," as if nothing your boss tells you to do could ever be wrong. Then, incredibly, he makes the gangster analogy without understanding that he did something unethical.
Some of you speak as if you have all the Intel and know everything that went on behind the scenes. None of us know what we'd do in that spot. Vince is not at fault. HBK is definitely not at fault. Bret was in total control. The decision was made by Vince, and Bret was given more control regarding the passing of the torch than most do, and more than he should have. Bret did it to himself, and even though he's an all time great, he let personal grudges affect his professional position.
"Submit to authority." Uh yeah...it should go without saying that you're not supposed to do that if you're being asked to do something unethical. It's funny that he brought up gangsters right after that.
For a guy that was pretty into being born again and turning away from his mistakes, he has trouble acknowledging he made the specific mistakes. This guy won't take blame for anything. Losing respect for Shawn.
