Always the best videos to explain pickle ball shots - thorough with just the right angles and examples. Going to try this out tomorrow

thank you, thank you, thank you. For showing it in slo-mo, for talking through the shot and swing path. So many don't. I'm a very visual learner in anything I do.

You hit on exactly the shot I’m working on and when I use it it catches opponents by surprise. High degree of difficulty and my grip pressure and grip angle are very important. Great video, thanks!

Is there any forearm movement in the dink? What arm parts are involved? Thanks!
@godgunsandgoldens

To generate the most spin you need to increase paddle speed right before contact and follow through. “Explode” through the contact point to increase chances of pop up.
@primetimepickleball
@primetimepickleball 3 года назад
When hitting topspin dinks at the NVZ, you have to slow down your paddle head speed, or the ball will shoot long past the kitchen line or go right into the net. A good medium paced paddle speed works great for this shot.
@godgunsandgoldens
@godgunsandgoldens 3 года назад
@@primetimepickleball It can be done although risky for sure. You have to graze ball just the right amount ratcheting up paddle speed right before contact. I know because I accidentally did it because of table tennis background where I did it routinely although more room for error with spongy glued ping pong paddle for sure. Pickleball paddle much less forgiving with low friction surface contact has to perfect and fast. Shot would have to be practiced so much to be consistent for most players may not be worth it in that it’s not really a point ending shot.

Fantastic video! I can't get as much topspin on my backhand compared to my forehand but if I follow through it turns out somewhat decent!

Can you go over the Ben Johns cross step back hand top spin dink... It's different than this and it's wicked.

Thanks for the tip. The spinning of the paddle between every shot is so distracting to follow though

What about that paddle spin between shots? Habit? Good/bad?
@dalevoigt8612
@dalevoigt8612 3 года назад
The continental gip is usually recommended because from it you can hit both backhand and forehand shot quickly without changing grips. You would not want to be in the process of changing grips when the ball get quickly sped up to you. Between playing points it could be a good way relieve hand tension. If you have too much tension in your hand, you may be playing with a grip that is too tight.

Lol. Probably not good if you’re trying to learn how to do it. It’s a habit.

This game is not that complicated...just have to have a low enough IQ to not get bored with it. I play tennis which requires constant grip changes at the 5.5 level
@primetimepickleball

I also play tennis at the 5.5 level. Your comments about pickleball are inaccurate.

@@primetimepickleball pickleball is the absolute easiest raquet sport and the kitchen neutralizes skill and power to a pretty large degree and then it's a crap shoot to see who can win the point when it speeds up. As a business owner and a net worth of 22 million, a high IQ, a div 1 tennis player from UNC and a current singles player in usta i can assure you my statements are 100% true.

You lift your head every time you execute your shot. I teach tennis and instruct my students that the ball on your side of the net is the present, the balls over the net are the future. You cannot hit what you can't see. Your eyes are to the future. Poor execution. Rodger Federer would never lift his head until his head touched his chin.
