Officials urge Maine residents to shelter in place 

So they all knew he was crazy. So they let him keep his guns, and sent him on his way. We already have laws bout that. Why aren’t the laws enforced ?

As soon as someone says theyre hearing voices they should not be allowed near guns or any weapons

This guy was committed to a mental hospital this s summer because he was hearing voices telling him to shoot up a National Guard base. He was 'treated' for just 2 weeks and released. We need much better mental health care in the U.S.

Everything is pointing to him being the killer but they’re stepping on eggshells saying he’s not officially a suspect what?

Check on your people man, we are in a mental health crisis.

Mental health is a serious issue that is being overlooked in this country

The speed they get “certain peoples” “mental records” to the front of an incident like this is amazing being that it didn’t bring attention to anything before.

How many times....we go to war over terror but throw up our hands when it comes to our own laws...

The fact that the current laws make it almost impossible to take guns away from this sort of dangerous individual with mental health and violent tendencies is a defining American problem.

Sorta doxxing myself but I live close enough that most things in my town are closed and I’m supposed to head to boston today for a flight tomorrow. My mom knows a guy who was bowling earlier in the day and she probably has just one degree of separation from the victims. I hope the victims get justice soon, rip.

Why wasn’t he institutionalized for threatening the base

Roughly 20 years experience with fire arms? They seem to only have the attention when they're being equipped with acway to hurt themselves or others. But when someone is honest about needing help mentally and hearing voice, even wanting to hurt others, they obviously aren't taken seriously. This is so messed up.

The shooter looks more like the reporter than the man in the mugshot

He could literally be ANYWHERE in Maine or even be out of Maine at this point. Maine it NOT huge it literally takes a couple hrs for you to be out of the state 🤷‍♀️. They need to stretch their area of search, check bus stations in all areas, Portland etc. Check everywhere!

Went to work before i heard about this. I'm Only an hour north of the shooting. I carry a gun every day and don't go to bars and establishments that serve alcohol because it's illegal to carry a firearm where this man attacked.

This country is so messed up. He was known to be mentally ill and yet had access to these kinds of weapons.

Take the guns from the citizens I can hear it already. It’s idiots like this that require us to keep our guns for protection. Train and be able to protect you, and your family.
