Great vid. Just eased my mind as I have a truck on the way to pick up my BMW and he's having to use the skates since I won't be at P/U or delivery. Never heard of these skates before, awesome job.

Well done. The only thing I do differently is I tilt the bed with the winch tight... put skates under with a couple taps of the hammer... then I loosen the winch so the slack in the park pin allows it to "roll" on to the skate an inch or so... less hammering to get it under further. Then the slack in the park pawl allows it to roll off part way so it comes out easy. Now we'll wait for another high end AWD to be part II. :)

It only works if the locked wheels go on the bed first. That way when you unload the car the rolling Wheels come off the bed first and the locked wheels slide on the skates. If you try to do it any other way it's a hard time getting the car off without going through a lot of hassle

Looks good but this won't work as smooth as in the video on a Aluminum Bed !

Quick question! Do you use the j hooks downwards or upwards when pulling a car? I always have phobia if my winch jolts they might just come off the controls arm so i do on J hook facing down and one facing up in control arms.

Long story as short as possible. A couple of weeks ago, someone else's car stopped working, and she called a tow truck driver. For some reason, the tow truck driver thought this person lived at my house, so he came over to my house and thought that MY car was the broken one! He knocked on my door several times, but I was dead asleep at the time (I'm a night owl) and was completely oblivious to all of this. Since he couldn't get the key to my car, he winched it onto his flatbed while it was in park! My brother-in-law came over just in time and stopped him from driving off, but I'm still worried sick about my car because I hear that it's a big no-no to drag it while it's in park, and he thought the car was already broken to begin with. My car is a 2014 Honda Civic, and I don't know if it automatically disengages the parking brake when it's being moved. Should I be worried?

I wish you had towed my Mercedes... they AAA guy messed up the car and the mechanics pavement trying to get it off his flatbed.... he didn’t use skates 😞

Does this do damage to the car if it's in park and e brake on?
