I was fascinated by level design of original game, although I just saw it on RU-vid. Always dreamt to play it, but 1994 controls and interface was a dealbreaker for me. So happy that this remake happened!! It looks simply gorgeous, the design and aesthetics, and pixelization. Grateful for both your OG team and Nightdive! Modern games lack the exploration factor, they just offer you a pony ride. Cheers from Ukraine.
I think something about this game i didnt particularly appreciate was that the mag pulse seems to be a short fast acting DOT effect, it sort of just takes what is actually a powerful weapon and makes it feel pretty weak compared to the other instant effect guns.
I went in with berserk, bullet time and the rapier. Jumped across to him and wiped him out in seconds. Wish the future encounters went that easy lol ._.;
Seems like the Turbo boots kind of have in many cases more downsides than good, since I imagine regular sprint speed would get you away fast enough without the massive bouncing around uncontrollably. Trade-off of speed versus control I guess. But you did in the end pretty well against Diego using just SMG & Magnum! The Broken Interface Demodulator is BTW randomized each playthrough so that players can't speedily b-line straight towards the broken one from memory but have to look for it each time, one reason why there were no numbers on the places themselves, so you weren't missing anything obvious. Wish more devs did like you said and added generic hooks for any events in their games, as an amateur modder it can get frustrating to just find some klugey way sometimes to tack on some effect or other to events. (Reminded me of modding Halo 1-2-3) Rip Mag Pulse Damage upgrade, will be missed. (Spaced with Beta)
i reccomend cooking the grenades before you toss so they explode just as they reach the target. *EDIT* i see that you are thinking along these lines haha. if you can successfully EMP Diego, the Laser Rapier makes short work of him.
