@@Totallynotkyubey oh believe me im aware its bullshit. Mot can just decide to not hold back. however, let us look at the implications Mot is stronger than YVHV, Stephen, and everyone else, and just decides to hold back.
This is the best way to show smt difficulty. You can do everything right and be competent, but if you miss one thing, or the A.I decides to be nasty, something horrible can and will always go wrong
Mot and Minotaur like to kick back drinks and talk about the perfect strategies they smashed. Minotaur: Then, you won't believe this, he managed to ditch Walter, THEN I CRIT HIM ANYWAYS, holy shit I was smirking Mot: HRNG
In Dx2 (an SMT mobile gatcha game) Mot has the passive skill Harmonious Death. This increases Mot's magic every second turn, plus give you one additional press turn icon. In other words, they know.
In SMT 4A he shows up in the bonus dungeon, Twisted Tokyo, as a regular enemy with an upgraded version of his Nocturne kit. Guardian's Eye is 3 press turns instead of 2, and Antichthon is an almighty attack like Megidolan except it lowers your stats if he's smirking.
@@NiGHTSnoob Oh for fuck's sake. Who APPROVED that!? Almighty attacks are a pain enough to deal with and they're even worse when it's possible for the AI to spam the most powerful "generic" Almighty attack multiple times in a row, so compounding the issue by allowing the AI to attack _even more often_ uninterrupted _and_ with the potential for even more power by crippling your party as a _secondary effect?!_ Sometimes I question the SMT team's capacity for game balance. Yes, I get it; he's part of a dungeon for late-game, post-game and ng+ players, but an enemy shouldn't be able to absolutely steamroll you even if you are playing as optimally as the devs intended.
Watches the beginning of the video: Alright, playing pretty good, hitting weak points, buffing, de buffing, healing, playing perfectly. End of the video: Dammit Mot.
i love how easy it is to break nocturne but also how nocturne can break itself against you, the best thing about this game is that fact that it can go both ways
I was getting disappointed when it looked like there was going to be a happy ending to the fight, then Mot gave himself four extra turns and almost immediately won. I left satisfied.
For anyone curious: Yes you MUST dodge spam in order to fight him effectively. He will at most generate 6 additional turns and your only bet is make him waste turns. I beat him first try cause he never hit.
Well, they don't use these specific skills anymore, but giving bosses ways of getting multiple turns is certainly something they've continued. Mot's script is just too unintelligent to keep their usage in check...
Worst part about this is that Atlus decided to bring this particular Mot back in Apocalypse as a regular enemy encounter in the bonus dungeon where the Fiends are at...
This is a beast eye Dear god There's more No (tf2 expiration date) Also, to anyone that is interested to hear my analysis on the Mot Buff in hardtype: Mot has a single buff in hardtype and it changes everything. In vanilla SMT3, the way to deal with Mot is very simple, just stack sukukaja and decrease Mot's accuracy with things like Fog Breath. Even if Mot stacked his magic attack to the max and has multiple turns, they just need to miss one single Megidolaon and we can just kick his ass (until he decides to dekunda). But in hardtype, makakaja has been replaced by Cadence (this is not shown in this video, but trust me, its true), which increase magic attack *AND ACCURACY*, which means the Decreasing-Mot's-accuracy-to-win strategy no longer works. Your only hope of survival is to pray.
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 That works in vanilla but not in hard type. Cadence boosted megidolaon will kick demifiend's all the way to next year. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M6r_b0whA6g.html
Or just burn him down fast enough. If you're going phys build then you can very easily burn Mot down with 2 taunts and a couple of tarukajas. Provided you get lucky and he doesn't spam beast eye.
every now and again i come back to watch this. and i instantly start laughing when i see this isn't just a 20s clip of some OP smtn meme. then i cry, realizing ONLY two and a half minutes is actually mercy.
Apparently Mot's Beast Eye spam is a glitch in his programming. Thank goodness for that because if this were intentionally designed the way the glitch makes it work, this fight would've been just badly designed.
Smt3 : to win battles you have to buff yourself first Me: ok Smt3: well meet matador he debuff you in one turn and after him every single character will debuf you without no reason
this is probably where shido tyrant glare>debuff>buff>tyrant wave, and the mots in the last dungeon using sleep and megidolaon in the og P5 come from lol
This is why nocturne is so much harder than the persona games. The fact that a 999 damage weakness shot is just not at all indicative that you'll have a chance at winning is astounding to me as somehow who got introduced to megaten through Persona 4
he's using a massive amount of buffs, debuffing the boss, using some of the best thunder attacks in the game for that point, and still gets demolished. Mot was fucking broken
I remember playing through Nocturne, and consulting GameFAQs for something on one of the Fiends. I ran across Mot's section while scrolling around, and there was a specially tagged warning about how Mot would very likely spam Beast Eye and attack spells until you died without giving you a turn. I dreaded that fight. When I finally went in, he spammed Beast Eye... and Dekunda. Barely did any damage to me the entire fight. I was quite relieved, but also kind of disappointed.
I think it's simply a fact that he didn't totally get rid of all mots buffs. Mott sometimes attacks before buffing, but i think he always tries to get max magic first. Thats why he needs a dekaja first not debilitate (debuff once and he'll be sure to use dekunda). I'm sure this dude beat this guy years ago, but for anyone that hasn't.
Damn dude when Mot stuck his hand out of his coffin like that and cast Megidolaon a bunch of times in a row I couldn’t help but accept that he was simply the better fighter even *if* he didn’t have all those extra turns 😀
It was in this version, yeah. Specifically, higher tiers of magic had > 100% accuracy. But it was taken out in later versions that reduce player de/buff stacking to 2 instead of 4.
Hey, I've been wanting to play your rom hack for years, but I couldn't get it working on my PS2. I was just wondering if you had any plans to make it compatible, since my friends are having the same problem. From what I've read, it seems like an amazing hack. I just wish I could play it.
Apparently, I was the only person that actually beated Mot at my first try, 'cause I had Dante, and Mot decided to not spam (too much) beast eye. Didnt do that for me, so it's very weird to see this and other videos about Mot being a douche.
