CRM Jewelers If you want to give advice at least try to look professional. Not trying to "nitpick", but unfortunately image counts a lot when you expect to be regarded as knowledgeable. People pay attention to these things, not saying it has any relation to direct knowledge of watches, but come on, I shouldn't have to be explaining these things. Watch lovers pay attention to small details... You should know this
"The 40mm and 42mm look like girls watches"...Mmm, not sure I'm going to take style advice from a grown man dressed like a teenager wearing sunglasses inside.
Need your ADVICE on my first PAM: 312, 510 or 104... What you guys think? I think the best option would be the 312 but I'm not sure. Please comment. Thank you.
Literally same here Haha. Great models. Now deciding between those 3 and I feel kinda itchy coz all of them look great. I can give an advise as well on how the case sits on your wrist. Coz 312 and 104 are different in that sense. Hope you'll enjoy your panerai! Have a good one
Panerai is a beautiful and great company. I have one Panerai submersible 508 and I can tell you that is much better and beautiful that Rolex submariner. I have both. But the Panerai is for much more watch that the Rolex.
+manduheavy vazquez excuse me Mr sir. How long have you had your Pam? How did they treat you in the dealership? Everything good and your completely happy with your purchase? Thanks
Greetings. I understand that Panerai now has a piece out that is rated at only 30m. My question is, isn't salt water very damaging to leather? Thnks, Tony
What do you guys think of PAM 88?I'm from Canada and traveling to London next month. Do you think London is the cheapest place for watches? Since I pay no tax as a tourist.
+JR LEE I'm in the same boat. I have a 7" wrist. but personally, I would still opt for the 44mm. As long as it sits correctly on my wrist. ie you may not want the lugs extending past your wrist. Just my thoughts.
I have a pam422 with a 2nd hand knowing it’s working and a 3 day power reserve viewed thru a rear sapphire exhibition glass, front crystal is also sapphire at 47mm for my old tired eyes on my 7.5”circumference wrist. One of the original Pam designs in a 50’s case. It works for me.😊
Jun Lai The Panerais are very tricky, believe it or not. You need to consider the ones that are trending the best at the moment, but in general, the Luminors are the most popular.
+CRM Jewelers but the 523 has automatic movement P9000. And the 563 has hand -wound movement -- which one is better ? Cuz I thought automatic P9000 or P9001 which is on 535 model (GMT) are much better .... In between those 3 models what u think .... By the way , the model which u picked for me is the cheapest of all 3
I came here researching the 40mm PAM01048. Now rightly or wrongly i'm wondering if i made the right choice.Big ghastly watches are not my scene but i love the Panerai case. So distinctive.
Great vid I am in Dubai right now and been looking at a Panerai at a shop down town its a black seal clear back black face limited 1/1500 I don't know what model in am going back to have another viewing we will see its boxed all the paper work its a lovely watch plane but simple......watch this space
Need your ADVICE on my first PAM: 312, 510 or 104... What you guys think? I think the best option would be the 312 but I'm not sure. Please comment. Thank you.
CRM Jewelers I really don't know anything about this watch because I found it on the ground in the parking lot. all what is written on it is Luminor Marina Panerai automatic and swiss made. On the back side it says officine stainless steal 30 ATM. The watch looks old one. I tried Panerai website to see if they have exact watch but I couldn't find one that is the same design.
Hi Eric, what's your view of the 351 Titanium? Does it normally have a good resale value? If you could with either the 351 or the 104, what would be your personal preference? Thanks a lot,
My wrist is little under 7 inches, no way I can wear a 44mm Panerai, I love Panerais, the only way I can wear one is by selecting the smaller sizes, what's your rational behind saying they are crap? Resale? Image? Quality?
I don't see how a 40-mm case looks like a girls watch at all. The Rolex submariner is a 40-mm, which I would not consider a girls watch. Maybe it is a way for some men to feel more manly if they own a large, over sized, over priced watch. I think a huge watch looks silly, and the 40-mm is just fine. I am happy with a basic 40-mm Timex Expedition Field watch with more functionality then any over priced watch. Any time I wear one of my other watch's I miss the Indiglo light.
+vosoda1 Watches have evolved over time and the oversized watch is definitely in. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think most would agree a 40mm Panerai is not a women's size. Many of the most beautiful and prestigious mens watches are right around 35mm.
+vosoda1 I think 44mm looks better on a man unless you have lady like wrist. You can't compare a 40mm Rolex to a 40mm Pam. Totally different look. I love my classic Rolex sub but would not wear a 40mm Pam, it just doesn't look right however it looks fantastic on my wife.
+lawdawg194 the problem is the 40mm or 42mm will be the smarter buy for future resale, especially seeing that sizes are already becoming more and more scaled back. Even with a Pan... I'm looking at the PAM 523 and it's a 42mm... It will be much easier to resell then let's say a 46 or 48mm
Hi there....as this video was done in 2015....these new watches were launched in 2018...so whats your expert opinion about Panerai Luminor Due PAM00906.Kindly guide.
What do you think of the PAM0438 tuttonero, i see you like the 441, was curious as to where you think this would fit, and how well do you think that value will hold up over time? or do you think it will tank being ceramic although it is in a limited number
CRM Jewelers thanks, i want the 438 but am wary about retaining any bit of value, AD near me has been trying to seel me one and throwing in the band from the 441 as well.
Hey Eric, Nice video btw...I have decided on a panerai for my 40th birthday next week and trying to narrow down what model I want. What do you think of The PAM 297?
CRM Jewelers Thanks Eric! I got the watch last week. Love it - very simple and clean design. Do you think they will hold their value? Any advice on winding this watch?
Great video Eric, I'm new to the watch market and may I ask, what is the watch you're wearing? I was quite taken by it upon seeing it. Cheers, and keep up the good advice.
Excellent video with great info. If I may ask, what are your thoughts on where to buy a brand new Panerai? Should I buy direct through their website, or through some kind of "grey market" seller like Jomashop? I want to make sure I don't get burned.
Call the store during regular business hours before you go and I'll gladly help you out. It will saved you a lot of time, money and headaches. I'm glad you liked the video. Thank you for your comments.
Good advice. Would you say the PAM00104 is better or the luminor submersible? I can't choose between the brushed titanium of the submersible or the polished 104...
Keep in mind hes being specific about Panerai watches about the 40 mm. He never said all watches, he said the Panerai's in that size. Personally, I appreciate the honest advice.
42mm....a girl's watch. Really? so a 50mm is a manly man's watch? I'm of the belief you should find a watch that fits your wrists and feels comfortable. Also, where what you want, but the shade's make you look like a shady used watch sales man.
I've never even seen a girl wear a Panerai... period!!! Girls are more into high end bags and not watches. This guy Eric is a dumb ass who thinks he knows it all...
@@Crmjewelers I found a watch a few months back, it had the dial guard on the side, it had paneria on it is a automatic. I thought for sure it was real, but I noticed at night. When I looked on it to see what the time was. It will not glow in the dark even after holding a flash light to it for minutes. And the winding stem came loose, it will not tighten back up at all. What do you suggest I do?
I know Panerai allows for leather and rubber strap swap outs as well as aftermarket. My question is regarding the changing to and from metal bracelet. Is it possible. I like the Luminor Marina Titanium with the rubber strap for everyday use but want to be able to dress it up with the bracelet when the occasion arises.
Your videos are aleays so great and real!! Other are to boring and proffesional to listen to!! could watch your videos even about the watches that I don't like, just to learn a thing or two... thumbs up!)
my question to you is does the pam00104 comes with brown croco leather strap and the black rubber? I think it should come in black croco right? im nervous now i bought it from a omega dealer and chopard
Great intro Eric! I have a PAM 438, it's my "everyday beater". With the ceramic case and band, it takes some serious punishment without showing the battle scars. When someone comments on it, I know they are in the game... Keep up the good work bro.
It is an acquired taste, like many things are in the watch world. ..once u go there, its hard to wear small..You can have a classy piece that is big and a gaudy piece that is small..the other design elements have to compliment the size.
You cannot just judge like that, some people looks good when they are wearing a big one, I have a PAM028 and it's 44mm and all of my friends said that I'm fire wearing those, different people different look, REMEMBER THAT!!!!!!!
As a first time buyer to panerai would you recommend the 00688 panerai luminor 42'' 1950 blue dial GMT or the luminor power reserve 44'' 00090 ? Thank you
There is watch for just telling time and nothing more...your Timex. Then there is horological watch history, art, design, superb engineering. I bought my first brand new Rolex two tone sub when I was 22...watch runs like a charm to this day. Do I need to say anything else?
I have seen the girl size Panerai just did not catch my interest. You make a good point. If I went Panerai it would be the full size. The risk I do not like are the fakes.
His sun glasses originally threw me off. After listening to him however, he gives sound information and his videos are very interesting and informative.
I think the Panerai cases where scaled up original Rolex Oyster cases from the 30's. As a woman I prefer the smaller Panerai's, but I hate the gold and diamond studded ones.
no gmt ?? i bought mine in to 2005 and that was my first hight end watch , i still have it and just got in serviced , i do tent to trade and sell my watches from time to time , but that one i will never sell !!!
Mike, I tried really hard to record an easy to follow video for Panerai newbies. I will record more advanced videos going forward. Thank you for watching.
Well I have a question/ you said that 40 and 42 mm looks girls watch ! Is that just for PANERI or all the watches because for example OMEGA constellation Men’s size is 38
CRM Jewelers - Eric : One the the best videos for Panerai first timers. Which of the following two would you get?: (Main concern is calibre and if it is worth it buying a limited 50 pieces edition or not. PAM 392-312 - Calibre 9010 - 44 mm - 1500 units - Steel PAM 733 - Calibre 9000 - 44mm - Limited edition of 50 units - Titanium About to buy one in 24-48 hours, your insight would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Got to say its a shame to have an automatic movement without a clear back! Valid commentary. Wearing 1950 GMT 3 Days PAM0321 as daily driver. Like the original rubber strap.
Agreed, 44mm is the way to go. But saying 40 and 42mm are girly sizes is completely off! 42mm is big for girls, and obviously is intended for men, and some designs are getting away with 40 - 42mm sport watches such as Rolex.
Hi CRM, you guys have made one of the best watches reviews channel on youtube. Keep up the good work! After watching this video, i would like your advice on which PAM number that have a high resale value than normal models. I was considering PAM 321. Will it be a good investement or worth buying? You are the expert in this luxury category. Trust that your advice will come in handy
A 6'' wrist still handles a 47mm. But i recommend a 7''. Anyway the 40mm looks like a 36mm. Now i tried a 47mm on my 7'' wrist and it fits perfectly. And i saw the 47mm on a 6'' girl and it still handled good but looks kinda weird. Still a 45mm is perfect for her. So yeah... people need to try and check it out. The 47mm that i tried was the PAM372.
I just bought a 241 and it is awesome 40mm. I really don't care what other people think. I love the case shape but don't want a dinner plate on my smaller wrist.
Hey Eric! Great info as usual. I'm just getting started with luxury watches. How to you determine how much a watch is worth? How much below that should I pay if I want to flip it later?
You didn't mention the most important part which is the sandwich dial as opposed to sausage dials in some models. Pam111, Pam127 and Pam183 are the best ones in my opinion.
