and she has the most controlled whistle among all famous singers who can whistle...other singers who can whistle need more effort in doing so.. mariah's whistle ability is natural in her system..
Oh yeah Jennifer hudson is one of the best vocalist in the game. Big church voice. Since y’all new to her do her and “I’m telling you I’m not going” from dreamgirls since y’all fresh. And Matthew singing 😂😂😂 I love it. Great reaction fam
awww guys I was laughing when a picture of Kate Hudson showed up, but we forgive you. Jhud started in AI she was on Fantasia's Batch if you wanna check let out start with And I'm telling you on the movie Dreamgirls, she won her first best supporting actress for that movie ☺
I'm sure some of the other Lambs have filled you in on this but this is a remix written & produced by Mariah of 'Oh Santa'. The original version, which Mariah wrote and produced as well, was on her 2nd Christmas album that was released in 2010 'Merry Christmas II You' (basically a sequel to her 1994 Christmas album 'Merry Christmas')
WOW...I'm shocked y'all don't know who Jennifer Hudson is?!? Besides being a superb vocalist, she's an Oscar winner and will be depicting legend Aretha Franklin in the upcoming movie.
Bowzer's still got the whistle register, way to go dude, you could make a carreer out of it XD ... When it comes to Jennifer, she KILLS IT! React to "And I'm telling you I'm not going" or anything else from her movie "Dreamgirls", or "Where you at", live, or "Hallelujah" live.
Aretha Franklin herself said in an interview when asked about Mariah "her vocals and arrangements are tight!".....so there's that, coming from The Queen of Soul" herself
Damn, how has everyone and their momma, already uploaded their reactions to this song, with the whole video and without a problem.. but y'all are struggling over here again?😂👁
@@lucaslamadrid8227 Litcherally! These artists really don't see it for them.. their teams are ready to pounce on these guys' videos! It's ON SIGHT, every time!
The reason why no one mentioned JHud is because we expected everyone to already know of her greatness. Nah, I'm partially kidding (JHud is incredible) but yes, I recommend "Where you at".
NOT YOU PUTTING YOUR FINGER IN YOUR EAR THINKING THAT'S WHY SHE CAN DO THAT! 😂😂😂 YOU'RE HILARIOUS! Btw she does that because that's a way you hear yourself naturally when you sing, but now it's her trademark
I love their reactions so much! 😂 They’re the most unlikely guys to watch this song but they’re good sports! 😂😀 “Why does she push in her ear?!” 🤣 Please do some Whitney and Mariah reactions to get us through Christmas! 🎄
😂 I’m literally dying! I love the addition of the sub videos. You guys’ commentary had me in tears! That Whistle duet between Ari and Mariah was Iconic! I was blown away when I first heard it. But Jennifer Hudson is a powerhouse vocalist! You guys should check out more of her work for sure! She started on American Idol but was introduced to the whole world through the movie Dreamgirls! Your other favorite girl starred in that movie too (Beyonce), Check it out on your free time 😊! Great reaction as always!
@@jenster29 I get that. But they asked why does she do it. That’s why. Even if not live, it’s mimicking a live performance - it’s like saying they don’t need the microphones
I think you don’t hear recommendations for Jennifer Hudson because she doesn’t really release music, and if she does it doesn’t make waves. She’s best known for her movie roles where she sings and tributes to other older artists/legends.
Mariah is in her bag every year and that song is only going to make her more popular. Please coukd you check Beyoncé's performance at the 57th Grammys(take my hand) I think the performance just popped up again on youtube recently very hard to see
Closing your earhole allows you to hear your voice in your own head easier and helps you stay in tune. The higher notes you hit, the harder it is to stay on pitch, and the louder the ambient noise is, the more difficult it is to hear your own voice. Mariah has always had this habit of closing an ear whenever she hits a whistle note. It's not a necessary thing for most singers, but it is useful and the technique applies to any upper register notes in any range.
Thank you Bowzer for reacting to her new music video. Mariah Carey is the greatest female artist of all time. Hopefully this song will be played throughout many years like her legendary Christmas song “All i want for Christmas is you” ✨♥️🧚♀️
Well we wanna see JHud and Bey so I suggest 'I'm Not Going from the Dreamgirls Movie'. It also has Jamie Foxx. Also Hallelujah Live by JHud&Tori Kelly.
I love your reactions guys! My favorite Christmas songs are: Mariah Carey - All I want for Christmas is you, Christina Aguilera - have yourself a merry little Christmas I recommend Jennifer Hudson - A change is gonna come - AFI 2019 - TNT and yes she is also an actress and an Oscar winner
Oh Santa! was actually first released in 2010 - MC is the queen of christmas songs! Also, I can't see anyone covering this here so, just to give you some context - a lot of people are losing their minds over this, specifically the harmonized whistle, because MC and Ariana were famously in some sort of feud for years (the media was constantly comparing Ariana to MC, especially because she publicly acknowledged MC is her idol). Ps I haven't seen Mariah look comfortable in heels for 10 years and it's the best. Oh and you guys will love J Hud
Mariah originally started holding her finger to her ear during live performances when doing the whistle notes because it just allows her to hear herself better to make sure she was singing the notes right. Its sort of become a signature "pose" I guess you would call it. I'm sure she just subconsciously does it.
8:59 Mariah does that ear thing because when you put your hands in front of your ear, you can hear yourself the way you sound to other people & it minimizes the sound of your voice that you hear inside you (which is different)
Jennifer (aka the princess of soul) is absolutely amazing, she was actually picked by Aretha franklin to play her in her biopic which is coming out soon Check out anything by her and i guarantee you'll be amazed ❤❤❤
Definitely react to more Jennifer Hudson, specifically I think the Oscars medley from Dreamgirls, You pulled me through live at the Grammy’s(this was right after her mother, sister, and nephew were murdered an absolutely gut wrenching performance), more recently, her performance of Memory from Cats is the only thing worth mentioning from the film. Any Aretha tribute. Also... let’s introduce you guys to Jasmine Sullivan(pick up your feelings live) Keep up the greatness!
We figured y’all would know who Jennifer was 😭😭 she’s amazing. Her and Beyoncé got famous around the same time when they were in the movie *Dream girls*
Many singers that sing up in a whistle tone push gently into their ear so they can hear themselves better in order to intonate and make sure they are on pitch.

Man Jennifer Hudson plays Aretha in Aretha movie. Watch the trailer. She's a selfmade diva.
Even though I feel so out of my element here, I quite enjoyed this. Love their voices together, was such a seamless performance. Thank you guys for the awesome content, loved it. Was diggin the movie reference too. I'm gonna need to do a recap on that movie at some point. Cheers my dudes.
@@sportosp-0158 Well hi. 😊 Any chance you guys will be reacting to more Halestorm? Really want you guys to experience their music, and not a cover. Even though the one you guys did was pretty damn great. But they've got some great songs, and her voice is killer. Just hoping. 😬
Singers sometime push in the fold of their ear to listen to make sure that they are pitch. The voice becomes amplified in your head. You’ll notice this in more live performances when singers don’t have ear monitors
"Well hello Ms. Hudson" Sporto, you are hilarious! Yes, we owe you an apology for the lack of suggestions. Check out the scene from Dreamgirls "I'm not going". Jennifer Hudson was a contestant on American Idol. Though she lost to Fantasia (also a phenomenal singer) it was the start of her career. She was cast in Dreamgirls alongside Beyonce (you reviewed the song "Listen" from that film) and Anika Noni Rose (who went on to Disney's first Black princess in the "The princess & the frog"
the ear thing is mariah hearing her tone and pitch , Mariah has the best technique when it comes to that training from her mother that is and opera singer vocal coach.
Jennifer Hudson one of the best vocalists and so to play Aretha Franklin herself in a pic. You guys now need to watch dreams girls or react to songs from the soundtrack because it’s got both Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson. And I am telling you places JHud on the map. And listen was really a powerhouse song for Beyoncé
Holding your ear when you sing is much like wearing headphones. It allows you to hear yourself better inside your head and close out some of the noise around you so you can hear yourself. Trying it now while you speak. You will hear yourself better inside your head. Singers often do that when there is a lot of noise or feedback around them or if they want to be very precise in executing a note or run.
