I've had a (repentagram) tattooed over my heart for 11 years. This band helps me through every crisis. God is reaching kids and adults that want to feel something real through these men.
Beautifully done. I have to say, it was an honor & a privilege to work on this awesome piece as an actor (I’m the guy in the middle of the line up & the face on the title😁). I’ve become a true fan of the genre thanks to these guys, their sound is killer.

Very few? There a lot of great bands - Unearth, Bleed from Within, Fit for a king, Crystal Lake, Crossfaith, The browning, Bury Tommorow just from the well known bands that dropped great albums last year, even All that remains dropped pretty solid one last year. Not to mention the more progressive side of core music - there are lot of great things going on like The dali thundering concept, Tell you what now, The arusha accord, Fiends, Monuments... You just have to look a bit, give a chance to small bands from time to time. One of my favorite metalcore albums of this year so far is Alpha by Alden O'Hara Country Club for example...

I can't believe they're back...I thought they had broke up or gone on an indefinite hiatus. Feels good to be wrong. I've been waiting for a band ive been listening to for years to put something new out, now if only the other bands I'm paitently waiting for a comeback will return.

I remember being at a show in scottdale and i sang my heart out to this song, and Micah noticed me and pointed me out. And when they finished preforming i told him he was sooooo "beautiful" lol he smiled at me and looked at me in the eyes and said "well thank you" i fell in the arms of my friend and i lost it with pure happiness. Fan girl to hard lol!!!! Best MEMORY before this covid. Also the last show i saw before everything happen. 💕💕💕💕
One of the first metalcore bands to use the tapping riffs a lot in their music and now everyone does an not as intricately either. Dudes were ogs and beast.
This band's music has gotten me through many tough times and they've really been a big inspration to me as a young teen to now. So glad to hear new music from them that still hits just as hard as their old ones. Love these guys and wish them all the best. They've certainly made another album for me to love.
I'm surprised it took my this long to stumble across this band. Screams and cleans; perfectly balanced, as all things should be. Going to enjoy exploring their music.
The formula works...alot of bands stepped away from this type of sound but it what every one loves...why fix what isn't broken...this genre was the shit and still is the shit so carry the torch oh sleeper and inspire the next generation of kids to keep it going...def my fav genre of music..has the most passion behind it lights a fire under me like no other

@@BrotherDave80 I wonder if maybe you're looking for a 'too overt' exaltation of God? One example that comes to my mind is August Burns Red. Their lyrics have become far more philosophical than say Wolves at the Gate. But follow that philosophy and dig deeper and you find God. Getting back to Oh, Sleeper, maybe check out another song off this new album of theirs called "Two Ships"? I think that one is a pretty clear call to faith. (Just as an aside- since I didn't see you mention it- I think you should check out another band called Impending Doom. They're more overt in their worship of Jesus, so I think you might like them!)
I saw them on the children of fire tour. I'm a drummer and Zac and I played some rudiments and had some good conversations back stage. Small local venue. Really nice dude ended up being a drum tech that night lol. Really chill guys!
Their three major studio albums are very religious while still holding the same impactfulness. “When I Am God” is their first, it isn’t the best benchmark for their success because the beginnings of the songs sound really random, like they shouldn’t begin that way but eventually grow into a song that is amazing. “Son of the Morning” is a call and response between Satan and God with the whole earth in between. This album has some of their more inspirational songs - while still kicking your eardrums. “Children of Fire” is the sequel to ‘Son of the Morning’ and begin’s Micah’s role as writing books instead of music lyrics. The entire album follows a story of a father-daughter. The father takes up a role as a judge because the world has apparently witnessed the death of God after ‘SotM’. If you like “Pulse Over Throne” for its intensity, just go listen to “in the wake of pigs”. Then the Titan - EP which Bloodied/Unbowed is supposed to be a sequel to (but they aren’t). It’s about a guy who wanted to be a pilot but was born blind. So he gets augments to his body to let him see (basically becomes Dues Ex the video game).
Yeahhh, I mean, I do agree that a lot of bands have real similar sounds/styles these days, but I don’t think Oh, Sleeper is one of those. They have a very distinct unique sound to them that no other band (that I know of) touches.

My first time listening to Oh, Sleeper was back in 2009 when me and my friends were racing Motocross and one of them introduced OS to me, and then this band always in our playlist for riding dirt bikes!!! Considering I listened to the Titan EP like it was metal gospel, this does not disappoint. I was always sad they never made a second EP(I heard they were supposed to?), but this album DEF makes up for the wait. Fucking bangers throughout!
