What a beautiful piece of property. Your views are amazing! Thanks for the review. I'm considering buying one.

Your dog reminds me of my grandparents dog Buck .. he lost one of his back legs from a school bus hitting him. He was still the happiest dog running through my grandparents field at their ranch. I just picked up a yard sweeper as well and they are a huge time saver. Looking at leaf shredders now. 👍

Oh heck yah! And yep, poor Ollie got hit by a car. We’re glad to have him still and I’ll bet he’ll live a long healthy life still! He’s just about 4 and he’s as happy still as ever!

I've been through 3 of these so far (agfab, ohio steel, and third brand I don't recall). (1) Unfortunately all manufacturers switched from metal to metal gears to plastic to metal (check the inside of a drive wheel). Metal teeth on the small drive shaft wear down plastic teeth on the drive wheel. I get one season at best before they no longer spin. I've tried to reengineer with metal gears, but not enough time lately; (2) Catcher fabric is very thin, one maybe two seasons and its time to replace, I rebuilt the catcher from scrape aluminum and it works FAR BETTER; (3) wheels don't have adequate bite/grip, and often times I turn around to find wheels sliding across grass, not spinning and driving the leaf brushes like they are supposed too; and (4) nylon leaf brushes wear out quickly if/when run across your driveway. I'm still hoping someone engineers something using the same concept, but instead of all the plastic, its made from steel including metal tines instead of nylon, attaches to front loader bucket, and runs off PTO or hydraulics. Of course, that would cost $10,000.

I love the 42-in I was just got but it's made different it doesn't have that lower and upper height adjustment other than that it looks similar it didn't have that pin that you were talking about that slips out either. My only question is is can you change the brushes and how easy is it or how hard is it. Because I'm going to be going through some brushes it looks like. Well one day I ran over a water hose I didn't see and it wrapped all up inside the unit and another day I went over some sticks and they were all stopped up inside my brushes area. But I'm in an area where I have feet of leaves and this thing is knocking them out. I don't have anything bad to say about this machine it really works great for me. I just know don't let it completely fill up or you're just blowing leaves out of it. But I usually get four baskets full in a hour . Just want to know if I can change the brushes out

Yes, use that rope to dump the bag while on your tractor. It sure beats getting on n off. . . . unless ya have some heavy grass, then ya have to get off & hand dump. You could probably put on some "caster wheels" on the back if ya dont want / or ya find the bottom of the bagd ragging close to the ground. I did that 30 yrs ago with an old pull behind lawn sweeper my gramma had. worked really great. I pull my 48" Sears Craftsmen lawn sweeper behind my John Deere 1025R. ya dont even know the thing is there until ya look over ya shoulder, lol. Tractor safe, bud🚜😎👍🏼

@@NewMoonRanch I havent put any caster wheels on my sears craftsmen lawn sweeper. But oh. . . . .I've thought about it a time or 3, lol🤣🤣🤣. I don't really have a problem with the rear bottom section of the bag dragging the ground. . . .but like i said. . . .ive thought bout it a time or 3. Maybe a good afternoon winter project this cold season👍🏼

Did you go look at various lawn sweepers (in person) to compare various parts of the sweeper unit? Brush brissel difference? Overall frame size strength, warranties, etc?
@NewMoonRanch
@NewMoonRanch Год назад
I did take a quick glance at a few others. Not enough I can offer you a good comparison. And my memory has faded, it’s been a while.

You ever use the offset? Probably going to to buy one tomorrow and the offset seems like a good option. Just curious if it actually works ok or if it twist up the frame. Seems like it would need an additional support. Anyway let me know. Thanks!

How would it do if I just wanted to buy and use for getting up small sticks/twigs you think??
@NewMoonRanch
@NewMoonRanch Год назад
It would probably handle twigs up to 3/8” diameter, if they’re short enough to get in the hopper!

Do you think it would it pick up pine cones ?
@NewMoonRanch
@NewMoonRanch Месяц назад
It should pick up small and regular sized pine cones. Giant pine cones, or a lawn covered in tons of them might be a challenge.

How much weight will that thing handle? I’m thinking about buying one for hay on my little farm
@NewMoonRanch
@NewMoonRanch 2 дня назад
Hi! I’d say this one is pretty sturdy. When full of grass it hasn’t had any difficulty. Structurally that is. The part you might concern yourself with is the base fabric/plastic and stitching. The more it has to drag across the surface of your yard or terrain, bearing more weight, it might not last as long as you’d like. If you can, go down and see one in person before buying. 👍🏻

From researching they are the same except as you stated, the T style drawbar can be pulled offset and the Triangle drawbar can’t. T style is V2 and Triangle drawbar is V1. I am going to get me one this weekend and I have been doing some serious research haha. This is the one!!!!

I did that over winter. Unfortunately it didn’t make much difference with the weight of that front snow blade. But summer time it’s been nice!

Having to pull that rope sucks. It's very heavy and sitting doesn't give too much leverage. Most of the time I have to get off. It doesn't handle sharper turns well. Also mine drags in the back so it's worn. I've had it for years so I guess that's expected

I sure am! Works great still. Super solid. I don’t use it super heavily, a few cleanups in the fall time. But it works well and I’m super happy with it! Just wish it was John Deere green! 😛 JD does make them, which I see for sale used in the $200-400 range. But this one is probably just as well built as those.
