Pro tip long extension you can put it through small slot near the headlight so you dont have to use a swivel, also lube the gasket prevent seizing

Nice video. 👍 Couple tips I would offer.. I usually crack the seal on the filter housing first and loosen it just slightly. I'll let this sit for 5-10 mins and almost never see any drips anymore when pulling the filter and housing out. Then I drain the oil... With my mityvac 🛢️😉. So nice to not have to lift the car for this anymore. Also I would mention to slip a phone down to the turbo Inlet when you have the intake off and snap a photo of the compressor wheel. Checking the blades every 3-5k miles with an oil change will help detect if you have any overspin damage from boost leaks.

Art2Gecko we have a mityvac as well but since most people don’t, we wanted to show people how to do it the traditional way. Thanks for the tips though and thanks for watching the video!

Another great vid, good production, no shitty music, no nonsense, straight to the point. I, for one, also rub a little bit of fresh oil on the o-ring of such oil filter housings.

After oil change and after resetting the oil change reminder (gas pedal three times to the floor) Should I mark the oil change with a program, e.g. alphaobd via ELM bluetooth or other?. If not, please tell me when to use this "flagging oil change"- option via ELM? abarth 500 multiair

Great video! Quick question regarding the oil drain plug, can you reuse it! If so, was there a gasket that needed to be replaced?

Yes you can reuse the drain plug. I haven’t found a need to replace the gasket as of yet.

Any info on torque specs? Just bought my Abarth this last weekend. I saw online the filter should be torqued, but I have a hard time trusting that. Seems like it’d break. What about the oil plug?
@NGENCustomsandPerformance
@NGENCustomsandPerformance 4 года назад
I believe it is 27nm but I never torque them. I tighten the until the oil filter cap is tight. Same with the drain plug - make sure it is tight

@@NGENCustomsandPerformance thanks for your answer, for my next oil change will go with Pennzoil. So far I've tried Castrol, of course Selenia multiair and Motul and still everything good with mair module.

opinion on using a thicker oil for heavy hot track days? changing the oil from 10w-40 scares me because of the Multi-air system.

I do not recommend using any other viscosity then what the factory recommends which is 5w40

so you are just going let the old dirty oil go back in the sum? as tech I would depressurise the filter first and then drain the oil!
@NGENCustomsandPerformance
@NGENCustomsandPerformance 4 года назад
The amount (if any) that’s left in the oil filter housing is so minimal it’s not going to affect anything. But sure... to maximize every ounce of oil to drain out of the pan then you would release pressure from the oil cap first.
