The Adineko really nailed the Tel Ray Mod sound which is hard to describe it's not vibrato or chorus or phase but something else.

Would have haled a lot if you'd read the Black Fountain manual about how the knob functions change in the Organ mode. It's a fixed delay time and the Time knob becomes modulation rate, feedback is depth and Fluid becomes a feedback knob in that mode.

Great demo. 😎. I think they both swoosh really quite well. Agree with your view on the pedals - Adineko definitely a bit more ambient - both sound super - thanks

Fascinating device if interested see uncle Doug's repair website to see one, basically a disc spinning slowly thru conductive oil that turned it into a recording medium. Sorta lofi but more reliable compared to tape mechanisms ,but workable and definitely unique.

Uncle Doug is great, without him I wouldn't even be looking at these pedals.

The Adineko has three repeats because there are 3 read/write rubber pieces that glide on a rotating disc that is coated with oil. The electrostatic charge(from the incoming signal) gets trapped in the oil and as the oil dissipates, the signal gets weaker. That's my understanding of it anyways

Interesting...I really need to find out more about that stuff

Such an ethereal sound with the oil can delay. I want a real one. I'd simulate all the rest but this sound is unique in some magic ambient way. The Adineko is the best emulation though. The Fountain, well, it's a push into those specific atmospheric sounds. And maybe just the attempt to get there, with all the extra parameters got them something really special anyways. Both sound weird in a special way. Huzzah! Great demo.

@@TSFAHTPS I ended up with an Adineko on my board, I love it- really nice sounds. One of my favorite delay pedals of all time. Up there with Rubbernecker and Volante.

Adineko is dreamy. I have too many delay pedals. Echorec, Belle Epoch Deluxe, Dd500, Dd20, Re-20, Volante, DOD Rubberneck....and now the Adineko.

Adineko > rubberneck (for me) Rubberneck: BBD, analog delay Adineko: oil can emulation

Oil can be a little more subtle than Tape,- which I like, - and the Adineko , while more high def, doesn't have the chewy exp pedal control. It can be very beneficial and useful. Everyone has been loving on the Belle and Echorec, but after initially buying in, I'm no longer a big fan; I use Oil on the end when the EQD Plates are too crisp, or to add some breadth to Spring.Over time, you see what works for you, and what is just the flavour of the cycle.

I'm sick. I had a Tel Ray oil can delay and pitched in in the trash about twenty years ago.

The Black fountain sounds great but I think the Adineko highlights the quirky oddities of the oil can delay in a way that sets it apart from the fountain which sounds more like a typical delay to me. I have more delay pedals than I could ever use from collecting over the years, So the Adineko is a clear choice for having a unique tonal option rather than having something that I can achieve with typical delay pedals with modulation added. I find myself being inspired by the Adineko in a different way that’s cool

I disagree. I have owned a Fender Dimension IV and the Adineko can get that sound very well. In fact, so well that I sold the Dimension IV. I just picked up the Black Fountain super cheap to compare, but it has only just arrived today, so I haven't played it yet. However, the Adineko is definitely very versatile and gets the oil can sounds right. Nothing will sound exactly like the old oil cans because they are mechanical analog tech. Lots of noise and mechanical variables in that old tech (which can be both good and bad). However, I take the Adineko ay day as it is consistent, fits on a pedal board, the oil never dries out, you don't have to search far and wide for the oil, it is way more convenient for a gig, and it just sounds great. If I had infinite storage, I'd keep the oil can, because I love mechanical effects, but my reality is that I couldn't keep it just to let it sit on a shelf.
