Thanks for such a deep dive into the oily depths of these devices. The organ mode on OBNE Black Fountain really seems intriguing.

It's a long one! Check the description for time stamps if you want to jump around. Also, Alexander Pedals has a couple of pedals that have oil can delays as well that are probably worth checking out. The Sky 5000 and The Oblivion delay. Didn't have these on hand, but they are worth consideration as well.

I bought the adineko. It was the only oilcan i had heard of, and the sound was so interesting. Loved the sound. Saw another video about the black fountain after i odered it, but was glad to see adineko was better. Was worried i pulled the trigger too soon when i started this vid... But glad to see i lucked out and picked the best one. It arrived a couple days ago. I love it

Most excellent demo/review, TPR! My favorite engine and go to preset on my Nemesis is an oilcan and I love it. That said, I've had my eye on the Adineko for a while now. After your demo, I think I might just stick with the Nemesis for now and keep exploring the oilcan engine's range; set the GAS aside for a time. Nemesis definitely held its own. Thanks for the video! Great job.

Those 2 were my favorite. I plan to sit down with the Nemesis and the Adineko and dial a preset as close to the Adineko as I can.

@@TriPedalReviews This is why I was looking for a video like this. As much as I like the Adineko, I'd love to switch it out for something a bit more multi-purpose since its pretty much a 1 trick pony (albeit a cool trick). Please upload that as another video if you can once you're done.

Looked for a specific video on that on your channel, failed, but maybe I am blind. Or maybe you did not put it in a video, but I can find it somewhere else. I'm trying to decide between the Adineko and Nemesis for Oil Can delay sounds (and yes obviously I would have more additional sounds with the Nemesis, so that will be part of my consideration). But anything on that, say your thoughts between those two pedals in terms of Oil Can sounds (or other advice) is appreciated!

using the expression pedal option with the alter ego x4 allows me to create some sick sound shaping. have u fuct with that option on that pedal?

I threw my money at the Adineko. Not a speck of disappointment or remorse. It did not replace my Volante or anything like that, but I bet it stays on the board ....forever! My only other Catalinbread pedal is the Zeropoint Flange and it has been really fun as well. That dude Howard really designed some GREAT pedals.

IMHO- that Nemisis Delay rendering is really killer. But almost too Hi-Fi compared to the sound of a real one. It sounds amazing.

nice vid, bro. i have the alter ego x4 and i actually really like the TR organ setting- 'prolly my favorite setting on that pedal. i really like the sound that comes from keeping the time knob at 7 o'clock, or close- it gives it an old bluesy/jazzy sound imo. it's less psychedelic and more.... idk..... it just sounds old to me. the quick, choppy sound makes it sound sort of metallic and machine like, but OLD-machine-like, i guess like an old machine with a fucking oil can jammed in it! hahaha

Hmmm... I wonder if there's something up with my Adineko. I've seen one other similar complaint on a forum, but my Adineko starts oscillating so easily with the reverb turned up anything past like 11 or so. It's actually really irritating, cause i love the pedal but kinda makes that feature unuseable. It looks like you're moving it past that here

Nope, expected behavior, as per the manual: Reverb - "This knob functions like the repeats on any echo unit, it feeds back the wet output back into the input of the delay line" You are basically turning up the repeats on a delay, and the higher the repeats, the higher chance of oscillation.

@@TriPedalReviews yeah that's kinda strange then that anything past around 11 introduces crazy self oscillation.. i don't understand why they wouldn't have made that higher to increase the usability of that knob

after playing around with it more today it seems incredibly sensitive to dynamics/input volume. So if you back off a lot on what you're inputting, you can jack "Reverb" past 11. Still would have been cool to get a touch more feedback with the verb knob before hitting that edge of oscillation point

the adjustability of the nemesis is incredible. wow. all these pedals sound amazing tho.
