The second time doing oil change on this 2014 c250 mercedes with the Mahle brand oil filter (see link). Think i might try the Ecoguard brand next time. I had posted an earlier version of this video when i realized the mistake i made.
Mahle has TWO filters with the following model numbers:
OX 183/ 5D and
OX 183/ 5D1
I had ordered the 5D1 version which has the wrong gaskets - they'retoo fat- by mistake.
the 5D version - see link above - is the correct one that you want for the c250 mercedes.
**Not shown on camera ** I also tried just replacing the end/tip gasket with the old one and using the too fat middle one but still couldn't get the filter past that one either.
Luckily you can often reuse the old gaskets if they haven't gotten torn or warped. At least for one more oil change.
I decided to show the process and some general tips on doing an oil change on this particular car, rather than just taking 10 seconds to say, Oops, i got the wrong filter by mistake, don't do that!
