Oh my gosh, thank you so much for going over this in such great detail! I think I may just attempt this now. I have to change some piston rings while I’m at it, so I hope to just pop the piston out of the top. We own a 1986 E350 base Grumman Olson step van that we use for business as a Food truck. We just cannot afford to pay someone for all the work that needs to be done. Right now I am looking at replacing the oil pan, front and rear main seals, timing chain and gears while I’m in there, and exhaust manifold gaskets, along with the piston rings. I know it will be slightly different with my E350 base, but it’s the same engine. And the same issue with crossmember, exhaust, and transmission in the way. Thanks again!
I 'm doing a oil pan and timing cover gasket replacement on a 1992 F150. Been losing coolant for about a year. Not much but every other month had to add coolant to the over flow tank. Bought a radiator pressure tester and found that coolant was seeping from behind the timing chain cover gasket. I have an engine hoist so that helps.
Right and I was wondering if he changed the rear main seal. I don't want to pull the engine so I watched both of his videos 40 plus minutes and nothing fml
Look dudes if you watch what this guy is talking about and think it's all fluff but STILL ask about the task of changing a gasket when the pan is off then perhaps this job isn't for you.
