In what was their last NHL game, Henrik and Daniel Sedin both stayed on the ice after the final whistle. The Edmonton Oilers crowd gave them a standing ovation as they thanked members from both hockey teams.
@@HeadGodoftheGodCouncil I already hated this meme when it started, and nowadays it's even worse cause people like you are using it constantly when it doesn't even fit.
mIKE Hawk every city does this. All cities in Alberta have fat disgusting pig euro thrash wanna be canadians. Surprised the oilers bandwagon fans didnt throw jerseys on thr ground
@@Vancovermycity Bandwagon? We’ve been selling out before covid. You east hastings canuck pieces of crap abandon them and only follow them when they’re ok. Then trash your city when they get destroyed in finals lol.
Shows how classy the twins are, they both said to nuge "keep going" knowing hes starting to find his stride in the NHL, absolutely unbelievable these two.
A few years ago the Vancouver Canucks along with the Edmonton Oilers and their fans said goodbye to Oiler Captain Ryan Smyth when he ended his hockey career. The Oilers and their fans return the favour to the Sedins as they call it a career to their lives as hockey players in the same building where Ryan emotionally retired. Thank you Edmonton! This is true sportsmanship.
A Clarence Campbell Bowl, 2 presidents trophies, 2 Art Ross Trophies between the two, and a Hart Trophy for Henrik as well as a couple All Star Appearances and success over seas. Hall of Famers for sure. The Stanley Cup is the hardest to win in all of sports
I recall Captain Canada Ryan Smyth's departure from hockey was every bit as emotional as seeing the legendary Sedins leaving us tonight, great job Edmonton!
no matter what team you cheer for. You can't deny how good for hockey these two were. on and off the ice they were true class players that any new person should mirror. Great career sedins from a Calgary fan
The best thing about this is that these two teams are rivals. To see the Oilers honouring the Sedins is truly a remarkable sight, as well as Vancouver fans honouring Ryan Smyth. The game of hockey is not only a competitive sport, it is a sport that brings us together. Congrats to the Sedins for an outstanding 17 years in the NHL.
I remember Ryan Smyths last game with the Canucks returning to the ice to lay their respects, well the oilers and their fans just paid the Canucks back in spades. What an absolute class move by Edmonton! Tremendous show of respect from a first class group. As a Canucks fan I thank you!
I always wanted the Sedins to grab a cup. It's tough to see them go without one because they were such great guys and hard working players. So much respect for them.
I thought it was pretty funny McDavid just came out quickly to chuck a hat over the boards when accepting 1st star. Even though he had a good game (as usual) and had just won Conn Smythe (edit: Art Ross), he knew tonight was the Sedin's night. Pretty classy of him actually.
We've had our bitter rivalries for years but as a Canucks fan I gotta say thank you to the Edmonton oilers organization and fans for showing such a tremendous amount of class and respect for two of our greatest. It was a great game of hockey and a greater end to the night. Looking forward to see you guys next season.
Thank you Edmonton for giving our Sedins such a classy farewell. It really means a lot. What a fantastic show of respect. I hope the Oilers get back in the playoffs.
Very respectful by the Oliers. This is hockey! When you gotta recognize you recognize. It's not about the game or history but to acknowledge the sports best duo and two of the sports greatest class acts on and of the ice. Hockey unites us in the end of the day, all the players are ours and we are all their fans.
From a die hard canucks fan here for 37 year of my 37 year life, chopping onions like mad....thank you oilers players, and team management and thank you oilers fans for an incredible show of class and sportsmanship!!!!
Honestly this game could have been in Boston or Chicago and they still would have had a standing ovation at the end from the fans. Years on, still classy, still teary, still chills
They’ve been in the league for as long as I’ve been alive. A fitting send off by the oilers for 2 players that will be remembered as Hockey greats. Henrik and Daniel Sedin. Never played on different teams. One inspired the other to play well. Truly unique talent and belong in the Hall in Toronto and they belong in the rafters.
Name one other city with more class than Edmonton ... singing the American nation anthem in playoffs , this and so much more I am so glad to live in Edmonton and be known for this ... so classy .... insanely classy... I’m like shaking on how good this is
As a Leafs fan here in Toronto, I will take some time getting used to seeing the Canucks without the Sedins. I remember when I used to live in Vancouver, I loved every moment of the Dominent Sedins when they would turn a 5 on 5 into like a Power Play. Love those moment.
Very classy of Edmonton and its fans to give such an outstanding tribute to the top two players on the rival team that caused them so much grief in bygone years - just as Vancouver paid it to Ryan Smyth, I'm glad Edmonton didn't disappoint. Respect from Vancity to the Big E.
I come back every once in awhile just to witness the absolute class. I literally can't deal with this without a tear or two, but it's all in joy. Thank you Edmonton. Thank you Henrik, and thank you Daniel!
What a great tribute! As an Oiler fan, I wouldn't have even been mad if the Sedin's finished on that rush in OT. Darn Russell and his shot blocking. :) 2 of the classiest players in the history of the game. It will be so strange to not see them on the ice next year....
You can see when Henrik says to McDavid "you're the best player in the world" it really affected him, he was used to hearing it from the media and people around him but to hear it from a highly respected Captain like Henrik Sedin hit him hard.
Farewell sedins, thank you for all your hard work in the NHL, I'll miss u guys, with out u guys I don't know where will be the Canucks will be today, I loved watching u guys playing the Oilers every year, I love u guys, thanks for everything you guys had done, farewell sedins 😁🙂👍😭😍🏒
I’m from Sweden and a Hawk-fan, but the greatness from the Oilers is just outstanding all over! Sedins shaking hands with the oilers who also has player no. one right now, McDavid, is just tearful! Great guys, said from a very proud swede!! 🧡⚫️💙💚💙⚫️🧡
Hockey being such a rough and unforgiving game, true sportsmanship and respect like this just hits you different. From fans and players alike. A beautiful display.
Its a pity 🙁one of the best players we have ever seen in the Canucks and Nhl history Thank you #Sedins👌🏻💪🏻 I‘m from Germany but I love the NHL exactly because of this great players like the Sedins, Ovechkin, Crosby and those other incredible guys They had a outstanding career :) ( Sry for bad English XD hope you are able to understand it XD)
Could you imagine how that must feel having great careers and being teamates only to retire alongside with your brother that must have been the best feeling
I've always been a die hard canucks fan even though my family is all Oilers fans and all of us were born in Alberta......with out a doubt though pure class shown by Edmonton to two warriors and the best duo that hockey has ever seen.....thank you Danny and thank you hank!! Always canucks!
Now this is total respect buy the Oilers right here even tho the Canucks are our division rivals this is respect right here I'm sure our boys would do this for Calgary and LA
