What do you think that line refers to?

@@jessewoody5772 someone on Reddit said this: "My guess is the coin represents money/wealth/greed/capitalism and the sun represents higher-meaning/purpose/god, so I think he’s trying to say we value currency as though it’s the most important thing in the world, or essentially we worship money. It’s consistent with his other lyrics, but I couldn’t say for sure." While that may be what Danny is referring to, it could also be that he's being ironic. Gold comes from the stars and the sun is a star...and we relish gold just as we relish life which comes from the sun. Or, the sun reflecting on the golden coin is a mirror image of how we see ourselves as being: golden and stars.

@@jessewoody5772 My pleasure - any discussion involving his lyrics or the band is a favorite topic indeed. Once, at a show in Denver at the Paramount Theater in 1987, between songs I was screaming up to him as I was just below him, about how “bad” I was. His eyes pierced mine and he said keyed the band with something along the lines of “Hit it, Fellas!” and while performing “I’m So Bad!” we sang many of the lines to each other just a few feet away from one another. It was…very memorable to say the least. The next day, at low-key afternoon backyard party near where I lived I was invited to the party which my friend was having. Danny was there. I believe they are cousins or second cousins. Danny saw my face and he smiled devilishly while proclaiming how bad I was!! It was a jolly time!!
