Couldn't stop playing all weekend. It feels sooooo good. Cant wait for the custom games to come from this. Also NEVER ADS in halo unless you really are shooting from a far range with a precision weapon. If you ADS in halo you are going to get your ass kicked.

ADS ruins your aim, it moves your crosshair slightly towards the left which going for a quickscope will be punishing.

@@onyxxvenom9198 I feel this is a common mistake all the newer people coming to halo are going to be doing. I literally never ADS unless it is across the map with a sniper/BR. Even with the BR i find myself not using ADS for most long distance shots.

Idk why people are calling Halo’s aiming system as “ADS”. ADS means the Gun is in the middle of the screen looking down the sights of the weapon. What 343i has now is Range Finder aiming. Similar to how Mandalorians aim their missiles with their helmets.

From what I've seen I think it's a perfect blend of halo and modern things. With halo 5, the advanced mobility overshadowed what halo is as a hole but this infinite has managed to blend it almost perfectly. Halo 5 also had proper aim down the sites and it caused problems with the guns. One thing I'd like to see is a setting to change the outline to classic red vs blue because from the clips I've seen it's hard for me to spot it

Fun fact: Halo Infinite's ADS/smartlink and scope have gameplay differences. From what was shown, the battle rifle, commando and sniper rifle all had scopes, the heatwave switches firemodes, and the rest have ADS/smartlink. Scopes are generally longer range, have some peripheral obscuring and will descope on damage. ADS/smartlink do not have those properties and are generally shorter like 1.2-1.5x roughly~

Correct it's adding magnification, it's not ADS tho that's an entire mechanic with alot of things happening. It's returning in parts to older halos for sure. If you remember 2 and 3 they had a helmet zoom without a crosshair so this feels like a throwback. However magnifying an AR with a reticle could be too much, we will see

Halo is one FPS where if your facing down an opponent and you go ADS, you'll usually lose. I didn't feel any aim assist, which is good, you have to earn those pistol kills.

Expect Aim Assist to be in the Full Release my friend. A lot of people are going to be putting lack of aim assist in their report when 343i hands out the surveys and when it gets enough complaints. The full game will have aim assist. Bank on it my friend.

@@iKrazyyi Every halo has had aim assist, this beta included. In fact that is a big reason why Halo is so popular. Through a combination of bullet and player magnetism they managed to create a non-intrusive aim assist system that makes the player feel like they are aiming on their own. Used to be games had no aim assist or straight up auto aim. Halo doesn't just have aim assist, they are like the pioneers of aim assist. If the beta didn't have aim assist, precision weapons like the pistol and the BR would be literally impossible to use.

i played on the og xbox one and my framerates were mostly stable at least at 30 fps or thats what it felt like. I was definitely surprised. Sad it didn’t work as well on your one S :(

I'm sure someone mentioned this to you but you're sort of choosing to ignoring it. 11:00 - Performance is due to the build not being at all optimized, and barely optimized to run on the consoles, especially the Xbox One family. The Xbox Series family had significantly better performance due to the higher memory bandwidth since Zen2 really relies on that, but your standard PC wouldn't have this capability from the start. The 'performance' will be fixed in final release. Keep into consideration that the Xbox One, the base Xbox One, is equievalant to an R7 270...or an AMD Radeon HD 7850 but with DDR3 instead of GDDR5. And it plays this game at 30FPS with pretty decent graphics. The quality of the game on the Xbox Series X and conversely your PC is going to be exponentially better, at a better resolution and a significantly higher frame-rate when this title is optimized. The key important part is due to this build being an unoptimized build, and the minimum requirements for PC was an RX 570 or a GTX 1050ti, which are roughly equal to the Xbox One X. That is, by the way, to achieve 1080p @ 30fps. Unoptimized, and not properly utilizing GPU or CPU (or memory and ssd) resources. What you 'should' expect for the release is a 1080p @ 60fps release for low end hardware, and I mean VERY low end hardware. For the current minimum requirements, that should hit well over 120fps on 'low', and on expected hardware, expect native resolutions pumping out even higher frame-rate the more powerful the GPU you have. Assuming you adjust in-game settings accordingly that is. Expect the next flight that launches to be better optimized across the board.

Well, yer not the only one... yer just late to the convo? Cuz everyone was speculating this early last year when Microsoft announced they'd be supporting cross-gen for the first year or two. (and got a lot of flack for it in the media, when people kept bringing up Playstation's 'different' stance of believing in generations) Also heads up... there isn't a mandate that new games need to run on Xbox One. Phil & others have already said, its up to each individual studio & each individual game where they wanna release. Cuz we gotta remember: the Medium, Flight Simulator, Stalker 2, Redfall, Starfield, etc. will not be getting Xbox One versions. (next-gen only) Maybe others i'm forgetting but mainly just listed 2021-2022 Microsoft exclusives. And to be fair, Halo Infinite was always gonna be a cross-gen game. (it started development in 2016 as an XboxOne-only game... so remember that too)

Same here, I hopped on MCC on steam the other day to get into the Halo mood a little and i still use LT to throw grenades and reload with RB, Y to switch weapons etc. With 4 when they changed the controls i just went to classic controls again. I will likely re-map Infinite (if its worth my time that is) to the older settings too.

I've never played a competitive multiplayer before that is free... I know some countries embraced these games, brazil basically became the freefire nation, lol But I can only imagine the sheer madness of taking care of hackers in these kind of games, how is even possible to sustain these games. Why is a basic human function like sprinting still considered something "taken from COD"? Ik that you couldn't sprint in Halo 1-3, but really, why tf could genetically altered super soldiers in super advanced armor NOT sprint?

It doesn't really make sense that it was 4v4 most of the time. Considering the 'new stuff" they made should probably tested like big team battle (increased player base), or some other new mode that's interesting, new vehicles. Instead the only new thing we got was movement and like 3 guns lol. Feels like a wasted beta. As far as testing the kinks in the new stuff.

It wasn't a beta, they're gonna do more tech tests in the future and when the game is probably a month out then they will do a 'beta' which is pretty much a demo cos the game will be finished

@@PhoenixRising511 they said that this was a version from a few months ago so it's probably much further along than this. I imagine it's coming out some time in November or December so they have 2-3 months for another one. I doubt they'll do it but if they do I'm there for sure.

Back in the day I would buy a Halo game for the campaign. I would extend my playtime with the multiplayer. Since the start of the dark days of 343, the campaign has been terrible and the multiplayer has become a clone of other first person shooters. (Cough, cough CoD) I really hope that the 343 death spiral is broken by the new game.

Wow… Maybe Developers would perform better if they had a little more encouragement from their Fanbases and Communities. Your comment is discouraging. I hope 343i does well with this Game. Halo 4 and 5’s stories were not terrible but they weren’t great either. They both were 5/10 for me but Halo 4 and 5 didn’t have Joseph Statin writing the Story but they have him writing the Halo Infinite’s Campaign so it’ll be just as good as the Bungie Halos. If I’m going to be honest, I wouldn’t trust Bungie with Halo these days. They are literally destroying Destiny. Destiny was in a great state with Rise of Iron and now it’s become a boring, recycled, monetized to all hell, broken PvP etc. Bungie is not the Bungie of Halo anymore. They’ve become something evil, they have been corrupted by Corporate Commander and it’s sad. Glad 343 is taking the “Player First” route unlike Bungie who takes the “Money/Shareholders First” mentality.

Did these two play Halo 5? I'm glad they are not classic Halo purists, but they talk about this like it is the first Halo game to have Sprint and a ADS system. I'm actually a little disappointed at how much 343 listen to the hardcore online fans, and removed some of Halo 5's innovations.

Good to know Infinite seems to be coming along well. I know I'm in the minority, but I still feel like Halo 4 was damn near perfection and I'm still sad to see many of its innovations thrown away - it really did feel like the natural evolution of the franchise following Reach (which I also had a lot of fun with) and I can't help but laugh after all the protest from the fanbase with regards to wanting 5 to go back to classic Halo roots, then 343 gave us that and ... People still hated it. TL;DR I think a lot of Halo fans simply will never truly be happy/don't really know what they want. I personally miss the loadouts, armor powers etc. and especially Spartan Ops :/

im kinda with you and not at the same time.. i couldn't stand reach or h4 when they originally came out i still think reach is the worst halo to date but once MCC came out and the standard h4 format was changed to no req drops, weps on map its now my preferred halo multiplayer. campaign is still trash in it but least its not h5 campaign. h4 just has the right flow to the movement for me and the weps have there place in any match up (except the incinerator f*ck that gun) i hope they do a haven/adrift/abandon remake for infinite they are some of my all time fav halo maps period.

i think thats the problem. people did not like reach. halo 4 did not evolve halo 3's sandbox gameplay. it focused on player agency instead. in addition the weapon sandbox wasnt that great. either weapons sucked, (supressor, boltshot, plasma rifle) or they filled the same role (lightrifle, dmr, bt carbine) thats why it died in 2 months.

@@Regret2001 Nah it died because people refused to accept change and complained it was too much like CoD (and then as I said H5 subsequently tanked when they changed things back lol). I think 4's biggest problem was the map pool - the gameplay was solid but the maps were terrible and unlike Reach there weren't regularly added community maps to the rotation. Also just as an aside, while Reach definitely had the worst campaign of them all (and I still say armor lock was a mistake) it did sell a hell of a lot and it had a very high concurrent player count throughout its life so you can't tell me people didn't enjoy it. The Halo nerd in me just loved Spartan Ops and how 4 actually tied in with the novels as it was the first time they let Frankie have full control. Halo fans just don't know what they want :/

It does. Also a lot of focus and effort has been put to make it work well as a PC game so the experience there must be a lot better than on those older consoles.

@@iKrazyyi NO ways its as good thou. Iv played Sea Of Thieves, Gears Tactics and Grounded on my Series X then went back n played on the One S and it was not the same experience. Load times, Poppins, Stuttering. You're telling me Halo Infinite ran at 120FPS on a One S? Or did you think I meant Series S? Cause he said the ONE S in the video.

Same. Well, kinda... concerning Gears... As someone who never played Gears back in the day, I just tried Gears 5 this year with a new XSX and actually was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Hivebusters was a fun expansion too. But i also tried Gears 4 and can see why people didn't like that game as much. (and maybe one day, i'll get around to playing Gears 1-3) Gears Tactics is a fun xcom clone too. So the most recent Gears titles from 2019-2020, for me are on point.

It looks very middle of the road, like Halo 5.5. I think the community is so starved for a real Halo game that they'll accept just about anything by this point. Anything less than flat out fawning over Infinite gets you so much hate.

It’s all the same anymore man. They all virtually mean the same thing. There once existed a difference for the terms. Demos were a preview of the final product, Alphas and Betas are builds that are designed to detect and fix things. But it isn’t like that anymore.
