My high school's mascot was a hurricane, so you can imagine 1985-86 what the most popular song in school was... I also remember riding in the back of a pickup truck down International Drive in Orlando with the Scorps blasting trying to meet girls. "No One Like You" and "The Zoo" are a couple of faves, but they have so many great ones.

My introduction to the Scorpions occurred in 1984 when my first band's guitarist insisted we cover "Another Piece of Meat". Our guitarist was a huge fan of Michael Schenker and Matthias Jabs.

Love the Scorpions. Being of "advanced age" I have been enjoying their music for a long time. Seen them in concert a few times including once with Dio (who I got to go backstage and meet) and Deep Purple. It's good to hear someone do their older stuff. China White, In Trance and Coast to Coast are three of my favorites.

Scorpions was my first memorable rock experience 😁 I was gifted an mp3 by my sister for my 10th birthday and it came with 3 songs by default 😆 one of them was Rock you like a hurricane. Oh man.... There's a memory I treasure a lot, I was coming home from the grocery store, chewing gum and listening to that song... Morning sun shining bright... It was just one of those perfect moments, absolute pure joy. It's the little things...

I love the way you breakdown the songs composition, its unique compared to just about every other channel I've found, you do more than just show what notes they're playing. I'm 53 and I'm also hearing the older music I loved as a teenager a bit differently now.

"Blackout" is one of my favorites, too. I also really dig "Rhythm of Love" from "Crazy World" in '88. That was the first year I got to see them live. It was the Monsters of Rock tour with Kingdom Come, Metallica, Dokken and Van Halen. Those were the days.

The Scorpions is my all time favorite band. World Wide Live was the very first CD I purchased when CD's were fairly new on the market and few to choose from. I thought I was so cool having one of the early Sony am/fm Cd players, ahh the memories of my youth! It's not until fairly recently that I've gotten heavily into their early 70's stuff. I would love to see you do your breakdown on "We'll Burn The Sky" & "In Trance" those two would be Gold!

I'm German, grew up in the 80s and 90s and make as much fun of the Scorpions as anybody. Well, and obviously have the "Crazy World" Album on CD. But there is a wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL podcast out there, called "Wind of Change". It really gave me a whole new appreciation of the band, their music and their humbleness. I'd recommend anybody to listen to at least the teaser of the "Wind of Change" podcast. The whole show is a blast. :)

I remember my buddy showing up at my house with this record fresh from the record store back in the 80's. My dad had a bitchin stereo set up so that is where all new records were tested. Even my Dad was rockin out to it. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago, seems like yesterday.

My dad got me into listening to music and appreciating bands for who they are when I was real young, like maybe 6 or 7. He introduced me to a lot of old rock and blues/jazz, and thrown into the mix was Black Sabbath. I grew up listening to CD's front and back, over and over; but I never got to anything from Scorpions or that era of music. I played the freaking *CRAP* out of all the guitar hero and rockband games and remember playing _Rock You Like a Hurricane_ as well as all the other great singles, OHWonders, and anthems of rock & roll and metal. Picked up _Blackout_ from Scorpions a few years ago and love the hell out of it. Fantastic band, and truly a remarkable piece of rock history.

Hey Key of Geebz! First of all i wanted to tell you that i really love your vids. I really enjoy watching you enjoy this music and the commentary you add adds to my enjoyment of songs, whether ive heard them before or not. The way you talk sound to me like a mix of technical and feeling and I think you found just the right mixture between them. I learn alot from your vids! Second i wanted to ask you if you could review "Shine on you crazy diamond - Pink Floyd" in my opinion(and music is just opinions ofcourse) this is one of the greatest songs ever written and i look at this song as art. The build up, the feeling everything is amazing about it. In my opinion ofcourse. Keep up the great work! I will keep watching. Stay true to your style man!

You used the expression "soundtrack of my life". I can't tell you how many times I've used those exact words in commenting on classic rock reactions. I'm a geezer like you, but it's not just us old guys. These songs (ok maybe not this specific song) are part of the soundtrack of many much younger people's lives as well. I brought my adult daughter and son in law to an ELO concert and they couldn't believe how they knew almost every song! They had such a great time! This music is timeless in a way a lot of other music isn't; it will never die. Greatest era of music in human history.

In my opinion the addition of Matthias Jabs for the Lovedrive (1979) album was what galvanized this band. By that I mean, the first Scorpions I ever heard was the Blackout album back in '82. Anything before that was "back catalogue" to me. No disrespect meant but their sound didn't come together until they hired him. I love that you gave a shout out to the solo he laid down. During my 51 years of life, I´ve surely had my Blackouts too ! Well, Lovedrive and Blackout were the first Scorpions LP´s I bought, they were already out, as I got my Scorpions awakening just before Love At First Sting came out. That is by the way still my favorite record from them. Don´t like so much of their couple of first records, their music started to mould for my liking around Lovedrive / Animal Magnetism. Favorite tune, well, for some odd reason, Don´t Stop At The Top from Savage Amusement, maybe because I got my driving lisence when it came out and it was just so cool to blast it from my car stereo, cool sounding album, that Savage Amusement. Love At First Sting is their best record to date, just above everything else they´ve done. Great song after great song.

Scorpions are one of my favorite bands too (I was born in '85, the middle of their heyday). Favorite song? Hard to say, but Blackout is up there. I'm a guitarist and love playing this song, Rock You Like a Hurricane, and No One Like You. Matthias Jabs (and Uli Jon Roth before him) is a terribly underrated guitarist; not many have his penchant for riffs, melodic leads, and technical proficiency. I don't think any band combined metallic riffs and hard-edged rock with mainstream hooks/accessibility better, and they were astonishingly consistent across two decades: pretty much every album they released from Fly to the Rainbow in '74 to Crazy World in '90 was varying degrees of excellent, and I'd put In Trance, Lovedrive, Blackout, and Love at First Sting up there with the best of the era.
