Wow, Paul and Model T, this is so timely! We laid my dad to rest day before yesterday. He was an Air Force pilot, training in T-6s, moving to B-25s, and then into the first fighter jets in the Korean theater. His service was at the Miramar Memorial Cemetery, right at the end of the Marine Corp Air Station runway. While Dad's flag was being folded up by the Air Force Honor Guard, a group of fighters flew over us and performed the missing "man formation"! None of us had asked for it. We're still trying to figure it out. Were they practicing? Was it for someone else? We're assuming that Dad must have arranged it from his new position (probably piloting the fighter that performed the peel-off)! I have permanent goosebumps! Model A's and radial engine certainly do go together, don't they! And yes, I think the same thing when these beautiful birds go over: The sound of freedom and an enduring symbol of our wonderful country. God Bless both of you.

Thank you, Paul. Old cars and airplanes go well together. Our model A was in the family hangar for years along side Grandpa's Piper Cherokee. Up the ramp was the Confederate Air Force and their collection of WW 2 planes. We used to sit outside the hangar which fortunately faced the runway and watch the airshows. I have a picture on my wall of my model A with a TBM doing a flyby in the background. Thanks for stirring all those memories.

I witnessed a flyby of a Lancaster warplane at liberation day May 5th........ in perfect weather she flew right over our heads at low altitude.... the four Rolls Royce engines singing their sound of liberty in perfect harmony!!!!.... talking about goosebumps!! Radial engine fan here! Trivia to play with people, gearheads in particular. How many four stroke engines do Not have a camshaft? Yep, the Wankle (rotary). What else? The Radial engine. It has a cam ring. And the firing order of any radial is the odd cylinders first in numerical order followed by even cylinders. Enjoyed it, Paul! Thanks!

Sleeve valve engines are an obscure piece of history. You can operate it in California only if you have a license to fog for mosquitoes!

Paul, what a nice video! Paul did you know that you also have an airplane without wings? All Ford Model A cars have a real plane-engine. It's the engine of "The Pietenpol airplane". Pietenpol planes have Ford Model A engines. Keep on Model A'ing!

In the Antique airplane circle, that's called converting money to noise! Great visit. I use to see Frank Sanders perform his air show in Watsonville at the annual Fly- in. I always looked forward to going there fie the Old cars, airplanes and Strawberries! Thanks for bringing back those old memories!

One of the Sea Furies in the back of the hangar in Australian markings with a number 105 on the side of the fuselage is (was ) owned by a man named, Ellsworth Getchell. He lived in Half Moon Bay area. He used to perform at Watsonville Airshow quite a bit.

This is awesome paul! I am a member of a few different clubs here in washington and I am a pilot also. I got my car peeps and my airplane peeps together a month ago and they all had a blast! If you’re ever up here I have a place we need to take you. He had lots of planes and cars! Model A’s included.

Did you go up in that AT6 Texan? I have plastic kit models of a lot of those planes, though I've narrowed my collection to passenger airliners now. I'd still like to get a model of the old Gypsy Tiger Moth I once flew in while passing through Idaho in 1975.

Hey Paul. I'm flushing out my 1930 AA engine before I reinstall the radiator. If I spin the water pump by hand should I be able to see the water agitate through the outlet neck? I'm not seeing any movement. Thanks.
