Yea young Joseph, before he ever cheated on anyone... Old Joseph is the one capable of betraying true love and cheating on his wife. For shame, no matter how funny or epic he's been in the past.
His development into old man Joseph is believable. Due to the time in which is lived in America and the shit he went through with Kars can change a person drastically. He simply matured, but we see his old self again in the one Stardust episode with the thing on his arm.
I like how Jonathan tells Joseph that he's still young and after they win Joseph is like "I've still got it!" And Jonathan tells him "that's the spirit!" Like he's trying to make Joseph feel good about his age
this is funny because not only does he look a bit like George Lucas but his George's sound studio Skywalker studios was where they recorded audio for the old jojo ova's i think
"man, his hamon is strong, and it looks like it'll only get stronger!" >tfw jonathan died before he could master hamon >tfw jonathan was probably the strongest natural hamon user but never was able to perform the great feats other jojos were capable of >tfw jonathan was the best jojo >tfw jonathan will never see the scale of the legacy he created, or the sheer magnitude of righteous fury his lineage would contain >tfw jonathan died with a smile on his face thinking his job was over goodbye, JoJo. You were the best of us. I hope god, and 36 universe resets, had mercy on your soul, and that you met speedwagon and the zeppelli family for one last adventure in heaven. I'm actually crying right now.
Johnathan is the most tragic JoJo except probably George (Jorge.) He didn't even get to learn hamon, stands, or any battle skills (besides being a pilot in the RAF) and gets killed instantly before he can really interact with the "legacy" or story at all in a meaningful way except being the catalyst to send Lisa Lisa over the edge, lol. Jorge really drew the shortest straw of all the JoJo's. Him and Johnathan are the most tragic. At least Johnathan got to learn hamon and fight one of the main recurring villains of the entire series though, lol. Jorge just got eaten.
Jonah blargle i feel joseph is a stronger natural hamon user since he was already pretty powerful withoit even needing to train, and when he did train he was able to take on 3x what Jonathan did. Jonathan was strong no doubt but he spent considerable time with Zeppeli training before they went after Dio. While Joseph was able to land a hit on Whamu without any significant training, and when he did train he took out Esidisi with ease.
Well you have to remember that Jonathan was the first one to get hamon in the Joestar legacy and Joseph inherited it and spent his entire life with it, but Jonathan still only had a few months with it before he died.
More likely he was comparing him to Jotaro, because Jotaro, at that age, had a somewhat similar look. So he's asking if Japanese delinquents all look the same, basically.
Yeag. Tbh, part 3 Jotaro and part 4 Josuke look way more similar to each other than any of the other Jojos, probably because they were closer in time and they both lived in Japan.
"Discretion is the better part of valor" Any time Joseph ran away, it was to either give himself time to think of a strategy or trick the enemy into going somewhere he wanted them to. Look at Santana and Wamuu. Joseph is actually my favorite JoJo.
4:29 Even though Joseph cheated on his wife and had a bastard child that he didn't even know existed for nearly two decades, seeing Joseph and Josuke together really warms my heart. I always tear up in the scene were they finally meet in the anime.
You missed a funny one. Make Young Joseph with the "Woman outfit" meet Old Joseph. "OOOH MYYY GOOOOOD!!... I can't believe i am seeing that outfit again!" or something similar... Where can i find it? XD
his line is correct in japanese ('washi no oji', meaning 'my uncle') they just mistranslated it in the english version probably because they thought the line was incorrect
Joseph actually says "this means...that this young man is my uncle!?" It shouldn't be the other way around. Jeez, the localization team fucked up on that one line.
I love that Joseph meets his younger self and never once tells him "Hey. You're gonna meet a Japanese college girl at some point. Don't be tempted." Now, it could be that he wants to keep the time space continuum intact. Or it could be Joseph being like "Nah. I don't regret that. I'd do it again."
***** Then maybe, you know, watch good anime The Joestars aren't perfect, but they're good people deep down. That is essential to keep me caring about them in this fluffy retarded story. So making Joseph an adulterer is fucking trash writing.
Liliputian07 The idea they have to be goodie two-shoes is stupid. The best characters in fiction are ones who struggle with emotional and moral issues. Jojos like Joseph and Johnny who aren't little saints are by far the most "human" and "real" characters. The ones like Johnathan who are pure morality with very little personality are poorly written.
Liliputian07 lmao if anyone in the Joestar family is gonna cheat then it's Joseph. He's a trickster who lives a carefree life. He cheated but that doesn't make him "evil". I'm not glorifying the fact that he cheated, only that it's not really that surprising. Making someone like Jotaro a cheater would be bad writing.
First United Church of Latter Day Boatheism You have no idea what you're talking about. You've said the most basic thing someone who pretends to be interested in media could say. Let me explain. 1. Yes, grey morality can be good. However, it can also be written terribly. That's no secret. As such, grey morality is not inherently more compelling than morality that leans more heavily towards one side or the other. 2. The best characters in fiction are written well. It has nothing to do with the basis of the character. While I appreciate the shit out of people like Walter White or Tony Soprano, they are *on-tier* with a well-written Joker or, like, Gon from HunterxHunter. These characters are written to be good. They don't have goodness thrust upon them due to their moral compass. 3. Joseph was originally a well-written character because he was fun. BT and SDC both had great Joseph moments because Joseph's personality carried him through narrative well. However, upon the revelation of his adultery and his... hollow appearance in DIU, this is called into question. This decision retroactively hurts what the audience thinks about the character. That is, if you think adultery is wrong. Which it is in 99% of circumstances. 4. Characters work only within their circumstances. LOBO doesn't work in Hamlet as much as King Lear doesn't work in A:TLA. I walk into JoJo expecting batshit fantasy shounen, not an examination of why good people do bad things. This is not a character-driven story. Thus, any attempt to make a character in it complex is moot. Basically, poor decision on Araki's part because he couldn't think of a way to have a new Joestar while keeping Jotaro the same age.
gokucrash990 Well it does... first jojo was 1.95m and he was a pure english, joseph is english american and is about the same height, jotaro and josuke are also tall but josuke is already not as tall, after they're only smaller
You're the only man I can think of when I say "oh my god" or "holy shit".. "happy urepi yoropiku ne" Let us not be sad that his time is finished. Be happy that we had time in the first place. Be happy it happened..
Joseph: "Dio's head was attached to the body of my grandfather, Jonathan Joestar. Does this mean I'm this kid's uncle?" Me: No Joseph, he's YOUR uncle. Welcome to the Joestar family tree. Time has no meaning.
When Joseph does his string attack finisher with Jotaro, it shows off how sometimes he likes to be flashy, he karate chops the string to get Hamon to pass through it, even though he could have just charged Hamon with the hand he was holding the string with
Old Joseph in the Anime: The hell is battle tendancy I'm just an weak ass old man with some lame vine stand... Old Joseph in the Game: YOUR NEXT LINE OVERDRIVUUUU!
