I loved playing most of these games as a kid, especially Super Mario 63. It’s too good for a flash game. But I was kinda sad you didn’t include Super Mario Star Scramble
@@epiccreator9372apparently you are talking about fighting Bowser in the space where the huge asteroids is held, then the end the asteroid destroyed bowser’s castle.
Clicked the video hesitantly expecting some irritatingly and forcedly energetic RU-vidr trying too hard to be funny by using bad Mario fangames as the butt of a bunch of his jokes and over-the-top editing and got a genuine honest person with a good deal of optimism about games. This was good; the video was more about the games rather than a bunch of jokes and it managed to be nostalgic and informative all at the same time. This site needs waaaay more people like you.
super mario 63 was a classic. I love how super mario 64, sunshine and galaxy was included. The last level was too creepy for me since when I was young.
I remember being eight years old playing New Super Mario Bros Flash and actually thinking that that was the sequel to NSMB on the DS, lol what an idiot I was. Good times…
I do. But actually Sunshine 64 was already a fully finished game by Runouw, then he decided to remake it under the title Super Mario Sunshine 128, which he released in two beta versions. One with some of the levels complete, one with most complete. Then he finally released the full game under the renamed title, Super Mario 63. And yes, I've played all four to completion (as far as completion was possible, that is).
I also played the smash flash game. Me and my older brother would beat the living shit out of each other. And I would play super mario 63 in my free time.
in my memory, Starcatcher wasn’t bad, but then again, I was like 5. I remember level 20 was where you could choose between some different ways to kill Bowser.
For those of you who loved Super Mario 63, the Runouw community (SM63's official website) is still alive and kicking, with new custom levels here and there. They even have a Discord server now. Granted, the forums are significantly less active than it used to be back in 2009-2011. ...not to mention the constant General Errors on the forums.
The Ghast No problem, the Discord link is "nEJTwNe" (I didn't post the full link just in case it gets flagged as spam). Anyway, there have been discussions on rebranding the community so it's now called "PixelLoaf". Other than that, it's more or less the same community.
I've played a great portion of these surprisingly! I vividly remember how much I enjoyed Super Mario 63... What euphoric times those were... also... If you don't play as Lou Albano Mario in the Classic Mario Bros... you go to HELL before you DIE..........................
Two things: First, the differently shaded backgrounds in Tuper Tario Tros. define the areas you clear rows in. Second, there’s a flash game I remember loving a lot that was a tower defense, and you defended Bowser’s castle against many Marios.
I remember every single one of these games. Super Mario star catcher 2 will forever be held in my heart. I remember the version I had downloaded had a glitch where you couldn’t complete the underwater level, but I didn’t realize it so I kept playing it over and over again lol
Super Mario 63 was my childhood. That music is just.... complete nostalgia. I wasn’t fortunate enough to have a home console, but luckily I was around when flash games blew up on the internet and I’m so thankful for Super Mario 63 and the Mario Kart flash game. I’m sad that I forgot about these games and I’m happy I ran across them again.
I vividly remember playing Super Mario 63 during my elementary school years. I had just gotten my own computer, and a few days later decided to try SM63, but there was one problem: trying to play it using Internet Explorer 8 was horrid, as there was a delay with all my inputs. I decided to download Chrome and never looked back. Anywho, great video, AK! I've been really liking you new style of videos. Oh, and I love the new intro, and Toxic Geek did a great job with your intro music!
I've always been using IE and never had ANY problems with it playing that game, other flash games, or with anything else, it was always as fast as Chrome for me and my main default until 2015-ish was explorer. Must've been your shitty computer, or you should've updated your IE. Or some shit like that. I've only made the switch to Chrome around 2015-ish, just to try something new.
rockinrodney5000 That computer was quite crappy, and I think IE9 was about to be released (?). I actually ended up installing Ubuntu Linux on the computer a little over a year or so after I got it because it was running so slow :P
By the way, there's a Super Mario Flash 2, which is the same engine as Super Mario Flash, but it plays much more like Super Mario World and the single player campaign looks much like the SMW world map. Level Editor included.
God, I remember playing all of these when I was younger (and I do mean all of them)! Super Mario 63 was and still is one of the greatest Mario flash games, and I've actually been playing it during the summer to relive the nostalgia. Great video! It really put me in the past!
My favorite mario flash game was Super Mario Crossover, which let you play the original Super Mario bros as Link, Megaman, and more. There’s also a sequel/version 2 that adds Luigi and Bass as well as a lot of customization features. It still holds up to this day!
Yeah I remember playing that a long time ago as a kid all the time and I played it again like a while ago this year and I saw how much it was updated and it was insane there was like 11 characters to choose from and all of them had alt sprites for different characters like cut man for megaman (and if I remember correctly they all played different and there was like 20 skins for each character.)
I love it, and there even another version with all of the characters from the last game, but they all have many more skins. Did anyone beat the game without cheats only using Simon? 'Cause it looks impossible.
I remember playing all of these except the Mafia one when I was around 7. Anyway a couple of the ones that weren't in this video are Mario Combat, Mario Rampage, and Super Mario Bros Crossover which is actually quite famous on the internet.
It seems the light and dark vertical lines in Tuper Tario Tros. indicate Tetris sections. So, filling in a full line in the dark blue one, for example, will clear that line, while filling in an evenly large line between two sections does not.
Amazing video, playing Mario flash games was all I'd do after school in elementary, so I've played all of these and many more. Super Mario 63 and Super Mario Flash were absolute masterpieces!
I know I'm late to this video but I just want to say that I went through a deep memory lane in this video. This video gave me so much nostalgia and memories, it even helped me to find some games that I knew I played but didn't know the name of it. Thank you for making this video, it has been a pleasure watching this
Ooooh man, the memories! There was another great Mario game, whose nome I forgot but it also had Star in the name, that was quite simple, but had mechanics of collecting star sprites in each level as well, and it had a SMB3 map style and original pixel-art for the game. It even had a sequence! Also, I recognize most of these games are objectively bad, but I loved them as a kid and still like them out of nostalgia. Mario Star Catcher 2 in particular I was obsessed with. Oh man, I could beat even the schizo stages blindfolded. Great video! Also, indeed, play Super Mario 63. Even with more refined engines and fangames having been launched, it still stands it's ground as one of the best Mario fangames ever released.
Oh, so "Super Mario Flash Version 2" was its name! I've been trying to find this game again for several years. What can I say? Mario as a side-scrolling beat-em-up is a fun idea, and that ending is one of the best I've ever seen in franchise history! Thanks for digging it up.
1:42 **Super Mario 63 intro plays* EEEEEEEEEE! :3 **Instantly likes** No seriously, I used to love Super Mario 63 and I got.. really good at it, but back then I kinda.. deleted save files after a while for some reason.. Just ask if you are wondering why. .3.
pouetpu's Super Mario Flash was the best, no doubt. I remember the old forums for people to post their levels at. It was lots of fun as a kid to have your level get appreciation.
OMG I grew up with Mario flash games, including almost all of these, especially the first two. I just searched up super Mario 63 accidentally, and then was imbursed into an amazing community on newgrounds, aswell as flash games that got me through being bullied at school. Thank you so much for the amazing memories and nostalgia
I really want to see Nintendo do something like SM63. I want a 2D exploration Mario game. Also, I'd love to see someone remake SM63. It has a lot of room for polishing.
Holy crap! I remember all of these games! Thank you so much for showing these, this is my first time on this channel. Another flash mario series I loved were the Monolith Mario world games, they were great!
I remember so many of these, I remember one called Super mario Sunshine 64. I never thought I'd find a video like this, thanks for making it! Here are several more I remember: Super Mario Flash 1 & 2 Super Mario Sunshine 64 Super Mafia Pros Super Bario World Metal Slug in Mario world Super Mario Crossover A Koopa's Revenge Luigi's Day Old Mario Mario Combat Mario Movie Maker (this one I spent HOURS making movies on. I used to watch ALL THE RU-vid VIDEOS like the weight loss program and messi the movie) Mario Starcatcher The bullet bill game where u control it Mario Bouncre Thats just to name a few. Good days on my Windows XP laptop that barely worked, and on my Aunt's desktop playing on sites like oyunlar 1 and more.
Thank you so much for making this video, these games were a big part of my early childhood, and this video hit me with the biggest nostalgia punch i've had in a while
Wow, your channel has really improved in quality. I used to watch you all the time, and I even remember back when you made Pushmo videos. Man, those were good times. I'm going to have to start watching again, as these new videos are awesome!
Super Mario Starcatcher 2! I´ve played this flash game in 2005 on an internet gaming website. The Super Mario World remix music was my favourite song in that flashgame! Nostalgic!!!!
Having played almost every single one of these games here when I was around six or seven and seeing them again now gives me so much nostalgia. SM63 was the shiz back then.
idk why but it's so cool seeing a video about so many of the games I played in my childhood and just knowing I'm not the only one who grew up playing these lol
I played it when I was incredibly young, but I was too young to understand that it was anti-KFC propaganda. I even thought that the tofu power up (this game's version of the mushroom) was a cardboard box. That's how young I was.
I remember in 3rd grade, me and my friend would go to the "Mario Games" site and play Super Mario 63 on the school computers, while pretty much EVERYONE ELSE played "Tank Trouble".
Dang I remember Mario 63, the Mario bounce one, and the Luigi's Adventure one (that boss music was actually really cool) I also remember Mario Combat, and a flash Super Mario World fan game whose name I can't remember but it was pretty good. The Mafia Bros made me remember another similar game called Super Mafia Land which was basically Mario 2 but with Gangsters (like actual gangsters, they were original characters). I also remember Super Mario Boss rush or something like that, there were bosses from tons of other games! Man, thanks for the nostalgia trip.
