Old SUZUKI RM250 making the swingarm look new again 

Craig, for that brake line clip, we used to dye plastics on rc cars by using cloths dyeing paints, put it in a pot of boiling water with the paint in it but don't let it touch the bottom and it dyes in the plastic. there are no exact instructions more of a trial and error the longer you leave it the more color it absorbs

Seems that the RM is becoming a longer project than expected, but im sure the owner will be happy. Itll look factory fresh and fly like turpentine on a cats tail.

I can see you really like doing this sort of restoration work. I feel the same as you and I must admit there is something quite therapeutic about it. Last week I bought a second hand Caesar Guerini shotgun. New they are the thick end of six grand but this one has not been loved and shows it, so it was priced accordingly. I am in the process of refinishing the wood work and dressing out lock and re-blacking the barrels. I have even restored the case. I think the wife will soon send for the men in white coats!!

The master strikes again, the quality of your workmanship is astounding. I wish I had a Craig in my life to get the jobs done that I haven’t the skills to do.

Best way to remove that swing arm coating is with warm water and lye (drain cleaner) turns it black and soft ,that D A was good at getting the deep scratches out though 👍👍👍

i think whoever the fella is who bought this bike needs to pay you a good wedge of £ when its all sorted out. i realise youre doing the best you can on it but he should never have bught it in the first instance if it required this much work doing and he wasnt able to do it himself... sorry, that sounds harsh but he should have spend more, and got a more modern, less run down bike imo. hat off to you for sorting it, you are certainly going above and beyond. NOWHERE would spend the time you no doubt will sorting it all out... gonna be a bit of a bill at the end eh lol

Craig, one day can you run through the discs you use on the DA, what grit they are and colour etc, basic I know but it would help me and many other newbies most likely. Once again a wonderful transformation on that swing arm. 🦘🇦🇺
