POSEIDON best IA mission. Kudos for the whole Underwater Vegas idea, and for putting Tideripper as the boss of it. Watching that leviathan gently swim in a giant aquarium was really... Something I'll never forget.
I spent maybe 2 additional hours looking for a way to get around it! I was so intimidated! When I gave up and said Fark it and swam straight for it did I realise that was the whole plan 🥲
Definitely the most memorable mission so far! My gosh how majestic and aetherial it was. I knew I was f*cked when I saw it swim by. Hate this glorious mothersnacker!
While the Slaughterspine is the new king of hunter-killer machines, the Tideripper pulls in a real close second. Those water attacks are no joke and the theme making the player think of the days when sailors would speak of cryptids, mermaids and monsters of the deep suits it perfectly.
When I fought my 1st Tideripper and saw the disc on his. I thought it was a satellite dish. But when it started spraying purgewater allover the place like a damn sprinkler. I was running in circles like a maniac; I was getting washed(literally). It was hilarious.
This is probably one of the most epic machine fights/theme. I guess since a new machine type after the classic Thunderjaw. Sure Plesiosaurs may not be as well known as a T. rex but they are still familiar enough that people know what they are. Plus it’s a Kaijuesque flipper beast that lumbers out of the water to fight you.
Glad you like it. 😍😍 I was thinking of uploading another version which is a combo of this one & this - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e3KKtH6RnEU.html&ab_channel=MistaKing
I remember coming across an upgrade that needed a Tideripper part, and I thought "What the heck is a Tideripper??" So my husband looked it up before I ever came across one. I kept guessing what it could possibly be... a Walrus? A seal? A shark?? He told me I'd never figure it out in a million years. When I first saw it during the side quest with Talanah and Adamis, I realized he was right. I never would have guessed I'd be fighting a gigantic murderous robotic Nessie.
Encountering it during the POSEIDON retrieval mission was more impressive honestly. You get to marvel in awe at the majestic machine gracefully swimming around, then murder it in a frantic but incredibly fun fight with some of the best music in the game accompanying you.
@@Zyk0th I totally agree. I’ve been playing through the game a second time, and I did Poseidon’s quest much, much earlier. Granted, I knew what was coming. But I do think that’s the best time to see a Tideripper for the first time.
I really hope the first dlc we get is going to be water based, exploring the ocean would be amazing, imagine aloy riding the waves of big Sur while on the back of a tideripper. Seeing whales for the first time and being in awe at the size of the animals. We could see alot of amazing designs for machines. Like a mosasaur, shark, squid, nautilus, ichthyosaur, peacock mantis shrimp. There's so much creative potential in the ocean.
But there aren‘t any whales in the oceans tho :( Artemis never got to release any big animals since Apollo was missing. The initial plan was to release bigger animals once humans learned about them and knew how to protect them. Since Apollo never functioned and humans were never taught, all big animals are missing in the world. (This no bears or any other predators but also no cows or horses can be found. Im afraid the same is also in the ocean)
@@symmetramainbtwlol4969 oooh I knew Artemis was the ai responsible for releasing animals and I did realize that something was wrong and that's why we don't see many animals but I didn't realize the reason was that we'll explained yet dang. But I still hope we do see coral reefs and such we know that the ocean does take alot of the Co2 in our atmosphere and coral, plants, and fish are a huge reason why
I had gone to Kappa with only 4 freeze bombs and a limited number of freeze arrows. The amount of times I wanted to bust my controller over my desk was soooooo many, because I just couldn’t bring it down and it would always kill me before I could reach the loot boxes around the arena.
I remember having such a hard time with this machine on my first encounter. It was a super tough battle! But now I have it all figured out. Freeze, shoot off the tidal disc, refreeze, shoot vulnerable spots on the face, repeat. Goes down pretty fast when its water bending shenanigans are disabled! Hands down, best theme of HFW, imo. Can't wait for the Burning Shores DLC!
Freeze works pretty well, shock does too! If you're comfortable with the disclauncher, you can get a 2-in-1 effect of shocking the Tideripper while tearing off the tidal disc. And, once it gets stunned from the lightning, it makes it pretty easy to tear off other components and take it down too!
@@WiddershynIf you have maxed Elite Ropecaster, it's pretty easy to stun him and destroy their water disc. I also extract his tail to resource farm or selling for shards if i have enough XD.
When I first that theme, I felt in love with it. Like, the music makes us feel we are actually facing an aquatic beast. The violin rhythm in it is so enchanting, I'm feeling like im underwater in an epic fight. It's so cool.
The enemy progression between zero dawn and forbidden west fits the lore quite well. At first, the Thunderjaw and groundbreakers were the only true threats, most of the rest being comparatively small and much less thoroughly weaponised. Nowadays, those machines are everywhere: Although the groundbreaker is no longer a concern of Aloy's, many more take its place: slaughterspines, tremortusks, tiderippers... and one Horus you can fight if you go to the end of the currently available storyline. What's next? Perhaps Hephaestos will try to replicate that great beast in more variety, leaving Aloy with many, comparatively ankle-biting Hori, with less protection and size to allow for more elemental flexibility and agility? Perhaps it will work on smaller machines, such as a smaller groundbreaker, perhaps tasked with recon and acquisition? (I made fanart of that, it's private rn but I named it the tunneller) Or perhaps it will look to Aloy's versatility and come up with something completely different? Who knows? One thing's for sure: I can't wait for the next game to show up! Keep up the great work, Guerilla!
@@dalekrenegade2596 "Aloy, I've made further research into what Hephaestus is planning on releasing next. What the /fuck/ is wrong with that thing?! *sends blueprint: it's like a tallneck, with a tiny difference: IT'S LITERALLY COVERED IN WEAPONS*
I don't know if I'm the only one to notice, but the Tideripper has the shortest health out of the big machines. Stormbirds, Thunderjaws, Rockbreakers, Slaughterspines, Dreadwings, Slitherfangs, Tremertusks, and Shellsnappers all have long bars. Tiderippers are medium bars, but they're fairly fast, so still a challenge to bring one down.
@@michaelgarner4423 Come to think of it, they do. On that same note, they're also the smallest of the big machines, so I forgot to add them to the list.
@@gearsmashking6880 Actually now fighting Frostclaws I don’t think they have large heath bars either But maybe only fire claws Edit: Frostclaws are midweight machines so they have a smaller heathbar
I am impressed by how this is a combat music froma water-dweling and water-based machine! It seems like a normal environmental soundtrack especially the first few seconds of the music.
While watching/fighting Tiderippers, or just swimming around, I sometimes wonder just how much trouble players with thalassophobia have with the water sections.
I do get phobia lol that tideripper makes me scared ASF with those metal sounds while it moves into the water. You see a red eye get the hell out of the water quick lol!!!
Person with Thalassophobia here, yeah the Big Machine Cauldron north of Demeter and the Las Vegas section scared the absolute shit out of me 😭 seeing the lights of the Machine drift so gracefully through the open water in the distance, with little to no light other than the machine itself… I was extremely glad to get OUT of the water
Going into the kappa cauldron was the most scariest thing I’ve ever done in this game. When your about to exit the cauldron, the game releases a tideripper under water and you have to find a way to lower the water levels.. meaning you have to swim by it 💀💀💀
They do have a thalassophobia setting in the game which lights up the underwater parts and provides unlimited air from the get go. Don't know how much that helps, as i don't suffer from it myself, but it's the first game i know of that features something like that. 👍
@@jhonaraya8704 I had a look at what music plays during the Specter battle & its this theme here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qCW-vYJuvB0.html&ab_channel=MistaKing
It's quite sad they're so easy to defeat with a shock boltblaster Also for some reason when fighting I didnt hear the theme despite the music volume being on 100%
The disc should be the first target on a tideripper. If you're struggling getting it off, stun it with shock first then blast the disc. Then try and target the cannons on its head next, then all of its purgewater attacks are gone. Then you can just continue to shock/freeze and hit weak points
@@DextroDNAOfficial When I am fighting it, aiming for the disc often than not seems impossible since the tideripper is looking right at you most of the time. I usually aim for its purgewater sacs on both sides of its belly or its “veins“ on the neck. Always keeping the Machine either frozen or drenched. Works best for me. I have never tried shooting its canons. Hmm maybe I should try it out. Isn’t it hard since its head is in constant movement all the time?
