Wore flip flops one time at a grocery then some nut bumped me with a grocery cart, its wheel hit my toe and its nail broke and was injured for days. Since then, I always wear crocs for quick chores for more protection. Crocs rock!

1, 7, and 10, I agree. Jorts are a wobbler but it can be done if you know what you’re doing. The rest are totally legit when done correctly on the right person.

Okay for most on the list, but hard disagree on cargo shorts (or pants). They’re too practical. Yes, this video is about fashion, but too many viewers are likely to take these as blanket recommendations.

I love cargo shorts...keys, wallet, phone and EVERY item you women ask us to carry because you don't have any pockets 😆...we don't get to carry a purse

I had about four pair of cargo shorts for work. I need all those pockets and I used all those pockets to carry the necessary things. There is a place for cargo shorts. It’s either on the trail or work if necessary. That’s the end of that.

I travel extensively and when I’m in Europe I can always spot the American tourist. They are always wearing many of the items you mentioned. I would add a couple of items, sports jerseys, which is only acceptable if you are attending a sport event. Even then I don’t understand why any man would wear a shirt with someone’s name on their back. I wouldn’t even wear a shirt with my name on the back. Also a belt is only proper with casual clothes. With a suit you should have either side adjusters or wear braces (no clip on suspenders). A belt breaks up the lines of a suit.

Ashley, thank you for the great tips. What is your opinion of rugged style? Would be interesting to see your take on dressing down, which is an art of its own after all.

I think there is a place for the right bucket hat especially if you live where it sunny. I walk my dog and walk to the pool with mine but it is well shaped and the brim is not too large

Your reasoning behind Henleys is understandable. I prefer it over a T shirt any day. I'd rather men wear cargo pants over a fanny pack.

I never liked croks tho i do have a pair, my sister bought me one. That one isn't the usual bulky type tho. I can't remember the last time i wore it. I'm keeping my ripped jeans tho. That pair fits me so well.

I'm glad that women still let us wear any pants yet. Basically women can wear everything for any occasion. They put on tons of makeup and addons everywhere. But it's a crime when a man finds something that suits him.

I think fashion is more fun to let loose that isnt always prim and proper… and tbh telling people what single item they shouldn’t be wearing when fashion is all about confidence with the whole outfit can be unhelpful to some who are beginners who wanna get interested in fashion… fashion is an art form and it is to be expressed however a person may see fit. I dont believe there is ever a “bad” item to wear, it honestly boils down to the pairings of the whole outfit. I hope there can be more content on item pairings rather then telling men what they should or should not be wearing

I swear girl, you could not resist me even if i wear cargo shorts and a tank top. One thing that also make me atractive, appart of my natural style, is that im confident enough to make my own decisions and i dont care about what people thinks, add on top of that money and education and your fancy clothes are basicaly useless, i never failed to score 10/10 women even in cargo shorts. Fashion for men is like makeup for women, if you are ugly inside out no amount of makeup will do.

Agree with all but the first two. Henley shirts look great, as long as you’re athletic, the shirt is form-fitting, and long sleeved. As for cargo shorts...sorry ladies, we don’t wear these for you. They are pinnacle of functional practically, and I will have at least one pair in my wardrobe until I die. For doing yard work, building things, camping, there is no substitute. That said, I won’t be wearing them to a garden party, or to the antique store with the Mrs, but when things need to get done, the cargo shorts come on.

Who has time to dress up when you work all week? I work construction, 8-5.. head to the gym after..then go home.... no time to dressup..

I almost always agree with you, Ashley! One thing I disagree with, something you said in an earlier vid: Motorcycle leather jacket for older guys. There's a few very neutral and slick models out there by Aero Leathers and Schott. No frills, just very clean and simple. Pure elegance!

Hey Ash, I agree with everything accept for the belt buckle. I live in Texas so it's allowed here. Plus, you can't have a big gut and wear a "gut cutter" so women instantly know you have nice abs. Girls will always dig lean cowboys, maybe not in California but definitely here in Texas!

I disagree with the Crocs take. Are they a flattering shoe? No. But I think they are fine if you are doing a quick errand and just need something to slip on. I see way too many women wearing them for me to think I am giving every woman the ick when I put them on for their intended purpose.

There is some solid info in here, but I'm going to strongly disagree with the cargo shorts and pants opinion. Men (these days fewer men sadly) have a need for deep pockets and the ability to carry cargo. If you have to ask or don't like the look, you wouldn't understand. I get that people today think they don't look cool--we try not to wear them to weddings and funerals. But often enough we don't find ourselves stepping out of GQ magazine, on a runway in New York or Paris. Where we do find ourselves is on the side of a road fixing a car or changing a tire. Out late at night with the need for a flashlight when your phone is low battery or has already died. Patching up your or our stupid friend with our pocket med kit because they drank too much and ate the pavement. We carry some of your personal care and cosmetic items there along with our own EDC. Lip-balm, bug repellent, sunscreen, your hair detangler, a couple of snacks for low blood sugar moments, sometimes even a small manicure set for when you break or chip a nail. Your sunglasses, your smartphone, your keys, your wallet, your watch and all of the things that you don't want to be burdened with carrying and because woman's close don't have useful pockets. All of this stuff takes room. Need a European country liberated by parachute? Cargo pants, BDUs These things have literally won wars--they come from somewhere actually quite practical and special. Don't overlook or underestimate this valuable and useful garb and the men who choose to wear them.
