Likewise, she doesn't sound much like any other singer I can think of, as far as I am concerned that counts in her favour. Some of the issues mentioned by others, such as her breathing, can be corrected by a half decent voice coach. Not having any talent or singing like a dripping tap cannot...she could develop into something very special.

As an artist, your song choice is everything. Yes it is called the voice, but the voice is not the only aspect that allows a individual to go far on the show and in the music industry. The way you sing a song and the song you choose does have a way of impacting on how you connect with the audience. First impressions are everything, and the arrangement she made for this song, although she was trying to be creative, backfired. But that is just my opinion. Very few people can cover a nirvana song properly, in my opinion she butchered it.

She wasn't horrible. Her voice is pretty good honestly. Vocally she's a good talent, but dear lord did she butcher that song. Smells Like Teen Spirit is a high energy rebellious song and had she ripped off that dress and started jumping around and putting the right energy into it like I was hoping she would, she wouldn't have seemed so bad.

When I want to hear a blonde sultry chick singing it, I'll put her on. The beauty of music shouldn't be repeated by trying to impersonate the original band, there should be an original twist on it.

Like it doesn't have to be a "high spirited rebellious song" you can change it, in fact if you listen to the large majority of talented artists who cover other songs they will almost always put their own spin on it, sometimes making it even better than the original. This however definitely wasn't the case, her version is plain awful and almost insults the original.

You should check out Lana's cover of "Heart Shaped Box", you might be surprised. Also some of her songs are very difficult to sing because of how wide the vocal range that she uses is. You can't seriously be a Twenty one pilot fan and have a bad opinion about Lana or any opinion for that matter.

Her songs are literally just low notes (difficult, but not something she's doing live correctly) and falsetto/head voice. She's really off pitch most of the times. But there are some ok performances where she doesn't push herself and she sounds decent

She surely doesn't do the cliché "I have a lot of breathe" loud screaming that most singers who are considered good vocalists do maybe because she can't but also and mostly because it doesn't suit her music which is very cinematic and poetic.

I'm all for adding a unique spin to it but I'd want to respect the original ideals behind the song rather than destroy the message it's trying to convey in order to make a few quid. There's also the fact that this isn't unique, it sounds like something Diana Vickers would do.
