Probably the best OM5 commercial out there, including OM-stystems videos. I mean this is a good thing, you've done a great job with superb photos in environments where OM-System (or Olympus) cameras thrive. You're also one of the few channels I see produce truly excellent photos. And the locations you found, excellent! /Rasmus
I've been watching video after video waiting for someone to sell me on this camera. Great video I'm sold! There's lots of negative comments and reviews out there but it is exactly the kind of camera I need.
Thanks for watching and for your comment, we are pleased you enjoyed the video. The OM-5 really stood it's ground and took a beating, but still produced incredible stills and video throughout our short time with it.
Yes an excellent camera and good value for the price point. The negative reviews appear to be from people who haven't actually used the camera....! They should try it out in the field. Compact and agile I find.
Great review, thanks. Practical info and excellent photo samples. It's a quality lightweight system. Unsure why we see negative reviews where it 'hasn't changed much from EM-5 III'. It's changed lots with Starry Sky AF, ND Filter, Vertical Video, faster processor etc. Glad OM have kept the gorgeous, compact camera body. I do a lot of Live Composite for Night sky and OM5 fits the bill.
Great review -- I like how your commentary was accompanied by plenty of photos and videos from the camera itself. I'm buying one, and you've gained a subscriber!
As a street photographer, and owner of 3 Olympus cameras, I still have a lot of questions not answered in this video. How good is the AF ? Can u show live with real life scenarios, like a moving target, a bird through foliage, a portrait session. etc. How good is noise control ? My previous M5 was already suffering at ISO1600. How good is exposure control in difficult scenarios (high contrast scenes, snow scenes, etc.). How good is the IBIS, can you show handheld 2sec . How good is the battery. Previous models have been terrible , often below 300 shots, and often not even working in cold conditions (3hr -15C hike, for example). How fast is boot time, essential for street photographer. Hope u can make a second video and answer some of these, tks.
Quality images and video! Your Waterfall 'ND filter' photos - post edited or straight from camera? Thanks again for showing what the OM5 can accomplish.
I was watching reviews and reviews to find a great photoshoot of nature and mountains taken from OM5 and finally I've got your review, you are a great photographer. There are few videos telling downside of OM5 but in few other reviews I found it's really a great camera which I can use for my Himalayan expeditions. A camera that can survive in rain and snow. Actually, I am looking for a lightweight and compact camera to use on high altitude expeditions in the Himalayas and I am expecting to get good quality photos of other mountains from the top of the summit. And I feel it's OM5. which would you recommend? is the OM5 a best option? I'll be very grateful if you guide me. Thank you.
As mentioned in the video there are quite a number of upgrades from the EM-5 Mk III - but the TruePic IX processor really unlocks it's potential and allows the OM-5 to basically become an EM-1 Mk III in an enthusiast-sized and priced camera.
@@ВсеволодВоронов You’re most welcome. I will do my best to remember all of the upgrades or new features, brace yourself 😊 - the obvious improvement is the processor, but we also find approx. 15% better stabilisation. The weather sealing now matches the pro-level OM-1 at an IP53 rating, totally essential for where we like to take the camera. The built-in ND Filters up to ND16 is new along with OM System’s Starry Sky Autofocus mode. You can now shoot 50-megapixel hand-held in high-res mode whereas before you only had the option for tripod mode. There are noticeable improvements to the AF system, especially for face and eye detection, and for video shooters, you can now capture in OM-Log400 for better grading and matching to other content in post. You can use the OM-5 as a webcam without any additional software and the camera also knows when you’ve shot your content in vertical mode, so when you export to say a smart device, you do not need to rotate your footage due to it already being in the correct aspect ratio. I think that’s most of the improvements or upgrades and I’ve probably missed something, but I hope that helps 😊
@@LondonCameraExchange Well, OM as a webcam seems to be a ... seems to be ))) As to serious ones: "There are noticeable improvements to the AF system"- Do you feel it became more reliable in shooting moving objects ? As, for instance, kids on a playground ?
@@ВсеволодВоронов I suppose it being called a ‘webcam’ does sound a little over the top, but for any live streamers or anyone presenting via an online platform, it does make a world of difference to the quality of your footage, and the control you have with the exposure etc too. We didn’t test the OM-5 in that environment as you can see, but when taking photos or videos of my colleague it did lock on more accurately and I would say quicker too.
Very disappointed with this minor re-badging upgrade. A few software tickles, but not much else. The OMD-5 Mkiii is a great camera that I love using. A 'new model', I think not.
