Fully agree with you guys about oméga. They are pushing rolex into the limits regarding mvt, anti mag, diving etc.. and it s bénéfic for end customers whatever they are oméga or rolex or tudor customers! Compétition = improvements.

I think the new ladies Aqua Terra line is beautiful especially with the updated bracelet! The only issue I have with Omega is their sizing. I tend to wear a 34 or 36mm and the constellation line, for example, has beautiful varieties that are only available less than 30mm. Hopefully they can adjust that in the future. Also I don't know why people assume most ladies will buy Cartier. Most of Cartier's lineup doesn't fit my style. I don't understand the frequent comparisons. 🤷‍♀️ Each brand offers something different.

The deep sea seems amazing! Even though I have a large wrist (8.25”) I’m still don’t really want to wear something that large… For the 57, I wish that was automatic, I get the heritage linked to the speedy being manually wound, but for practicality or even convenience, a rotor is welcomed… its the perfect “gentleman’s chrono” if that makes any sense. On women’s pieces, Omega are really working on their constellation line, mens and ladies, but they’ve really taken the ladies pieces to another level!! I was gunning for a gold Rolex for my wife, not any more!!

I love to see the Ultra deep professional dial layout on a 41mm case size with bracelet option it reminds me of the Omega Seamaster big triangle no date from the 70's. I can take or leave the open case back it would not stop a purchase for me either way. I can't believe panda dial Daytonas are 53k now I just can't. On the secondary market, Grand Seiko I have no interest in they just do nothing for me, Zenith on the other hand I feel a attachment to. The Zenith tipo cp2 43mm black dial pilot watch or the 1969 chronomaster tri color dial. Might be my next purchase

The whole Alpha Beta thing is for dummies. It initiated with a study in wolf behavior under forced conditions and the original researcher who wrote the idea of alphas and pack hierarchy, Rudolph Schenkel, rescinded his findings as false conclusions when he found out that packs really operate simply as families with parental units looking out for the others. It’s nothing to do with dominance and his initial study was conducted on a group that were forced to work together without being an actual pack. The original false idea of alphas among wolves was adopted into applying to human mindsets without any actual foundation, mostly by weak minded aggressive types, usually among men, to make themselves feel more important than those around them.

I have no knowledge of the original study or thesis. Alpha beta, today and simply, is casual/shorthand for levels of traits like agreeableness and courage, among others. less agreeable and the more courageous, the more alpha. I’m happy to stipulate that the origin of the categories has been debunked, but you don’t need to be a genius to understand how the terms have changed into soemthing much more real. And yes, with plenty of obvious false positives.

My wife has an Apple watch for the weekdays and a 24 mm Aqua Terra in quartz for the weekend and dressy occasions. It is a beautiful watch that goes well with everything, from jeans to a petite noire!

Great video. Agree with everything you said regarding Omega vs Rolex comparisons. They get so tiring. I'm not an Omega fanboy anymore than Rolex or GS, etc, but Omega is killing it right now. Even those that don't like their new ATs and Swatches can't stop talking/posting about them.

If you want an amazing watch get an Omega. Simply put Omega is the best watch money can buy, period. Yes you can buy hand made watches with very intricate details costing much more, but at that point it becomes functional art.

I’ve watched to the end! And I was soo compelled by your women wearing watches part! As a fellow in the Cult de Cartier, I think this is where Cartier SHINES! If I asked most of my muggle girl friends if they had some money what watch would they buy…. 70% would say a Cartier! Omega is stepping up there game! I hope this does well in the womens market!

Rolex "Oyster Steel" is actually a bog standard utility steel used in industry for chemical tubing. Nice cheap steel pitched as something special by Rolex marketing. Good material choice for plumbing urinals in stadium restrooms. Your local steelyard can deliver a pallet load to your house for the price of an Oris.

To wear, Vintage Omega for sure. They have litteraly thousands of references. Vintage Rolexes are nice though, an explorer II freccione would float my boat. But overall, much more diversity on Omega's side, much more fun in my view.

What are you guys thinking? Better than a Daytona? I think that not enough emphasis of value is based on design. Design is what creates style and look and art. What is inside adds to the value but you can’t say these omegas are better design and look than a Daytona. Also why would you buy one of these and maybe break even in 3 years over a daytona that you get 25k extra value? You should be comparing the Canopus gold to the regular daytona because those are actually the more equivalent.

The idea of beat Rolex is like the “iPad killer”. It doesn’t exist. People chase Rolex for brand recognition and the quality that comes with that. That’s why Rolex alternatives will never sell as well because there is not a singular watch brand that is as recognizable. 90% of the people that buy watches just care about the “flex” because when you spend 5-10k on a “useless” object, you have to understand the psychology of the purchase. It’s to join an elite group and buying an omega doesn’t get you into an elite group that every human will recognize. Rolex will and always will, irreplaceable as king. Hence the crown.

So true. The fact that Rolex and Daytona have to be mentioned in this video and countless Omega watch reviews is just telling. The Crown dominates the sports watch conversation. That doesnt take away anything from those new 57 models though. I still love those new moonshine models and will consider getting one (budget willing) specially since the daytonas that they look like are for all intents and purposes have prices that have gotten away from me. I still remember the John Mayer green dial Daytona being offered at a 15% discount and with a lay away credit card offer at the same time.

Rolex at this point is over done and overrated. Omega and Grand Seiko bury Rolex everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. This coming from a Rolex guy.

@Yorkiepoocharlie yeah I think you’re right. That’s why JLC and Grand Seiko are recognized among the general public as the greatest watchmakers. I can guarantee you put a Rolex side by side with a the GS or JLC and every single average person will choose the Rolex. It’s really that simple. I mean you say that then explain why Grand Seikos, JLC, Omega, breitling, Glashutte Original, and even A. Lange don’t trade at 10x MSRP across their entire lineup. All of the mentioned watch makers both have the same quality if not better and have designs that really are incredible unique yet the general public does not demand them.

7:30 People say "Omega is cope for riff raffs who can't get a Rolex" as if it's a rakish and daring take and not something Rolex marketing directly implanted in you. One of the main reasons Rolex creates exclusivity is to negatively color all their competitors, even if their products are superior in specs and/or luxury details, who are perpetually available in stores. And if you think "Rolex doesn't limit supply, there's proof" one softball article where Hodinkee blindly accepts the statement of a PR flack doesn't really constitute "proof".

Yeah but Omega is too big and thick for my liking, and Rolex automatics also has quick set date and more power reserve which I also prefer… but I think the speedmaster moon watch is better looking than Daytona.

the Ultra Deep beats the Deep Sea in beauty and technically, amazing watch! the Speedmaster 57 is beautiful, the movement is an automatic movement transformed to a manual wind and we can't see shit anyways, they should have hide it. Cristiano its "Minchia", its Sicilian it refers to a woman's genitalia but really means WOW or GTFO etc. I used it in a coffee shop in Catania inadvertently a while back and the lady behind the counter cracked up over the fact that a foreigner (that's anyone that is not Siciliano including northern Italians) used a colloquial Siciliano expression. Prego.
