Thanks for the great video. I just bought the blue version a couple weeks ago and I'm blown away. I was impressed how Omega made a pretty substantial and chunky watch so wearable. I don't have such small wrists, but still, for a 42 with that big a bezel and an also not very subtle bracelet (and not even mentioning the helium valve), it feels just perfect on wrist. Even my wife was astounded when she tried it on. It seems to me that all the little details, such as the wave pattern, the applied indices, the partly polished mid-links in the bracelet and everyting that's going on on that dial it just detracts from the size of the watch, making it look much more delicate than it actually is. Or long story short: if you buy a Submariner instead of this watch, you either just like the Rolex look more or you need that Rolex brand name. There simply is no other reason to prefer the Submariner to this anymore.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. The blue version is a true beauty and I struggled to choose between the two. Enjoy your Seamaster and wear it well. 😎👍🏻
"The most beautiful sport watch of all times." Such a stunning watch...🖤 I'm planning to have one with rubber strap soon as well. Also this is a great video with lots of detailed shots! 👏🏻👍🏻
This watch is beautiful. I had a 1994 Bond Seamaster with the most beautiful patina that made it more beautiful and stunning. This version will never be that because all of the ceramic so I will keep my 2004 Seamaster with the perfect proportions and the stunning electric blue dial.
Bought mine at the end of last year. Black dial on bracelet just like this one.. It's hardly left my wrist since. Deadly accurate, a-magnetic, exotic escapement, super tough against bumps (METAS certified, full balance bridge for better shock tolerance) and it's also surprisingly comfy w/ fairly versatile styling. Imho, even after the fairly recent price increase to $5400 USD, this watch offers the most value of any diver out there and it's not even close. Thanks for the great review. 👍
The 300m is just a darn nice tastefully done watch. The waves on the dial are great. The only thing. For the price the watch should come with a rubber strap.
Although the white dial version is really nice, I absolutely love my black dial SMP 300m. The way the sunlight hits the dial makes it look stunning and I fall in love with it all over again. It looks like a different watch every time I look at it!!They nailed the wave dial with this one. Great video 👍😎 wear your Omega in good health.
I can’t decide between the white dial or black dial. I thought I wanted the white one but the black in this video looks stunning. Especially in the sun. Do you still like the black?
@@randytolchinsky7307 im very happy with It. Its really stunning but I still like the white one as well.. The black one has more longevity for me I think and It looks great with any outfit. the watch itself is just awesome. doesnt matter which color you choose. i would choose this over tudor any day but thats just personal preference
For me, the only thing that ruins this gorgeous watch is the lack of tapering on the strap, a slight taper, narrowing in at the bottom would have been perfection
It's borderline edging up to too big. I hate the "you can wear anything you want" mantra because proportions and balance are not completely subjective things. The lug tips should absolutely NOT come up to the edge of your wrist, at least one link of the bracelet should be visible when looking face-on for there to be good proportion. Too many people are buying watches that are too big for them, but can't be convinced otherwise because it's their grail. The watch companies don't care, bigger watch means bigger billboard to advertise their brand in someone.
Amazing video quality!! Thanks! Those shots really popped and this is def one of the best videos about this watch to see it in natural and different lighting situations to have a realistic overview... Would love to see a white version of it from you, because that‘s the color I‘m close to get. But still want to see some natural light on it..
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I cannot take my eyes off this watch and the honeymoon stage is strong. I would love to review and film a white version if I ever get a chance.
That watch looks pretty good on you. I understand about its design wearing smaller than it actually is. But honestly I think you could just as well handle a 44mm or even a 45. I’m new to the watch world and have been looking at the Rolex Divers but with how high handed they are with their customers I think I’ll give Omega a look. Cheers and thank you for posting.
I could be wrong but I think that’s a travel bag and not for storing the spare links in. And that’s not a cleaning card but it is meant to sit inside the watch to stop the display case getting scratched by the bracelet
Nice I just purchased the white faced version of this at my local AD. I didn’t know the box has a hidden little area for other items like the bag. Good call. And I didn’t find the “diver” extension piece unless that is separate?
If you slide the glide lock all the way out, it will be easier to release the dive extension piece. It is located right below where the glide lock says PRESS. Push down on the last link connected to the glide portion. Let me know if this helps...
I Always stick around until the end. Because I have my own channel, if I srat to get to cocky, I just go to the analytics, and people watch 40%, and that is in my opinion on my best video I ever made. 😂😂😂
I am originally a Rolex Fanboy however, after I seen the Omega Seamaster 300M professional AKA "THE GREAT WHITE" I immediately went to an authorized dealer and purchase one with both watch straps. I could not be any more happier wearing it more then my Rolexes.
Omega really knocked it out of the park with this model. That was smart to grab both Style straps. I need to pick up the black strap when I get a chance.
😂 I highly doubt. It can’t even come close to BB58. The case at 42mm is too big. The crown at 10 o’clock feels so out place. Display case back makes it more luxury piece than a tool watch.
@@evanscussel7955 I agree with you. I got deceived by Rolex and Tudor. I am voting for Omega for all 2021. I wish they are come up with more frequently with 39mm or 40mm. I have a very small wrist.
I have small, weak wrists. I bought this ‘exact’ watch and as the provider of this video pointed out, I tried many different pieces, from multiple watchmakers. I have to say, it feels ‘right’ on the wrist and doesn’t feel ‘ big’ or lethargic. It feels, substantial and ‘quality.’ If you want to see ‘big’, I used to have a Breitling ‘crosswind.’ I loved the look but it was ‘gaudy’ and I ended up getting rid of it because after a short while, the watch winding motion became ‘difficult.’ This watch is very nice looking and honestly, the ‘lume’ is something I never thought was ‘lacking!’ It is actually, very legible and bright! I was impressed. Say what you will but after a year of ownership, I still ‘love’ this watch. That says something because with certain things, I have a ‘deep’ fascination with and it fades. This watch still holds my interest. On the other hand, people make a ‘big’ deal out of the Rolex and although Rolex is responsible for the ‘many’ innovations that wristwatches enjoy today, it is a ‘mundane’ and boring watch that people wear, IMHO, simply to get attention or to make money! That’s okay, to each their own but I want a watch that is ‘accurate’ in it’s timekeeping, pleasant to look at, technologically comprehensive and concurrent and won’t make me break the bank just to satisfy the public’s ego and follow along the guidelines of what Rolex was ‘originally’ designed for: a masterfully, marketed watch! Forget the R, I’ll take the ‘O’, which proceeds the R in OR, anyway. Omega or Rolex, you ask! Omega, pretty please! Thank you!
@@thegreatgambino i have a new Ball hydrocarbon, stor chaser and a luminox sea deep dive 1521 and this will replace all. if I can sell them. great review
As an Omega fan I'm doing my ultimate best to like this watch, but I just can't. It feels like they tried soooo hard... The screaming dial, the fat clumsy hands, the shiney bezel with big white engravings, the enormous slap of steel as a clasp which doesn't integrate with the look of the bracelet at all, the helium crown, the everything. All subtlety is gone out of the window. This is the watch equivalent of a body builder flexing his muscles at the shore line while wearing a bright yellow speedo.
Omega tries to give this watch a tough guy look. After all, a diver watch with thin hands, thin bezel and no hall mark like the Helium value cannot show it's a strong man' watch. For the same reasons that you have for disliking an Omega, I never like a Rolex Submariner, but it's so popular meaning that lots of people like rugged but branded watches. I have been a loyal supporter of Rolex having worn different Rolex watches since 55 years ago until now. I recently bought a cheap second hand Omega Seamaster 300 just to feel how it's like to wear a heavy watch. My feel is good because I know I will switch back to my Rolex after a while.
It’s a thick watch but always looks bigger because of that damn HEV. I hope next iteration sees it removed and the addition of a tapered bracelet. Looks good on your wrist regardless
I have the white dial one. It is amazing looking watch. Versatile, super comfy. Same dimensions wih my pelagos 42 but wears reallt different. But i have it in rubbe r because the bracelet does not taper. Albeit useless for me, I find the helium escape crown to define this piece and make obviously an omega seamaster. Without it, yoh’ll easily mistsken it with other watches
I tried this 42mm version on today. It is a nice watch but it's annoyingly too small for my 19cm/7.5" wrist! I know they've tooled a 43.5mm version in ceramic (no red highlights, no date, and 1.5x cost!) so why can't they do this model based on that case sizing? For now, I'll carry on wearing my 45.5mm Planet Ocean 600M chrono but I would like a non-chrono watch to wear for a change. I know people comment about making watches smaller for their small wrist, but it works both ways! There are a lot of watches I like that are just too small, especially 40mm and under look like they're made for children!
Totally agree with your comments on how the watch looks in different lighting situations,,, I've never seen another watch which looks so completely different, just by altering the viewing angle.. Great photography, and subbed on the strength of this video.. ! ps, you've prompted me to give mine a good wash,, lol.. All the best, from accross the pond... .
Looks large, but not out of place, on your wrist. The black color is obviously slimming. I wonder how it would look if you chose the white face version?
Lovely watch and ticks all my boxes but sadly it's too large. I have the same size wrist and l have been trying to convince myself for the last year that it's not. Maybe if the bracelet had a taper it would help. Do you think the white version wears smaller?
IT is my favorite watch. Just not sure which one, the black or the white dial. I like the superior finish quality in my opnion better than most other luxury watch manufacturers. Very nice Video, thanks for that.
Sounds like a great topic. I am looking to create more timepiece content starting in January. A few months back, I did a comparison video on my decision between the Speedmaster and the Seamaster.😎⌚👍🏻
Wow. That is a beautiful timepiece. Did you say early in that you needed to wind it? Please forgive my novice understanding of luxury timepieces Shouldn’t it run on its own?
I bought mine from a different site and was slightly used...but the style is similar as I bought a Seamaster 300 Professional 2254.50.00....love that black face.
My own with 3 Chronographs, but this model is in my top 3 watches, Rolex Daytona (I do not have a Daytona) and the third spot is still open. I had 3-5 differnt models there, but then I decided, it will stay open until it is as locked as hard as the first 2.These 2 never change. I will alwas love them...
@@thegreatgambino yes. Im leaning towards the black bc i think the black dial is a little more shiny than the white which i like, but the white is so fresh looking. Tough decision.
A nice video. I didn't understand why you did not get a guarantee with your new watch, can you explain please.I have a 2541 from January 2001, which I bought in 2016 and really love it. I bought my first Omega when I was 21, which is almost 60 years ago.
Thank you for the compliment. I purchased this Seamaster through jomashop. They have been been in business since 1987 but are not considered an authorized dealer. Greymarket companies like Joma offer significant discounts but because they are not authorized, they cannot issue a company warranty. However, they do offer their own in-house warranty.
@@thegreatgambino Thanks for the reply. So is the watch registered with the manufacturer even without their guarantee. Another check that it is genuine and not a good copy?
It’s a beautiful watch, I prefer the Planet Ocean for stylistic reasons and the bracelet but this is a very close second. Awesome movement in both whatever your choice
So happy for your acquisition. Beautiful watch. Your video capabilities and narration really bring out the details. Great job. I missed getting mine by 3 hours. The newest Bond is calling to me. My wrist is smaller and I’ve the seamaster professional. Heck a Big Pilot and Sea dweller, too. Watches are like diamonds....the longer one wears them...the smaller they get.
I purchased this item from Jomashop. Companies like Joma are not authorized dealers. They offer 100% genuine items at a major discount, but are not authorized to provide a manufacturer's warranty. To learn more research grey market watches.
Good review like the wrist shots as I also have a 6.75 wrist and wondered how this seamaster would size up. I have always had this watch as my”grail” watch but went with BB58 instead which I do love . With that said I may one day pick up the Omega as it is just a perfect watch.
Totally agree with your video. I purchase my white dial version ska #THEGREATWHITE with both watch straps at the Omega Boutique in San Diego. Couldn't be any more happier with it. Added it to my collection of Rolexes at Sinn 104 limited edition all matte and other fine timepieces. In my opinion Omega is top-notch, top-shelf and amazing quality timepiece.
A very well done video. This will be the first Omega watch that I will own. Wearing a Rolex GMT for over half a century it will be a somewhat difficult choice. Maybe just being stubborn. In the mean time I'll be waiting for my AD to call me when the GMT or sub comes in. I know at the end of the day I'll be happy with the move. By the time my new Rolex comes and being 70 yrs. Old I'll have one foot in the grave and one foot on a banana peel.
Thank you for commenting. I hope you love the Omega Seamaster and that you're AD calls you with an available Rolex sooner rather than later. Happy holidays😁⌚🎄
Very pedestrian. There are so many of these watches - which makes them no so special. Omega is almost like buying a Seiko. No waiting, everyone has multiples of these.
And yet you’re not only watching a video covering it but commenting on it too. Not too bright are you? The fact is the Co Axial Escapement is the widely regarded as the most innovative watch advancement in 250 years. Come back and comment when you have more then three brain cells. You’re clearly one of the idiots who believes that a watch’s false scarcity is an indication that it’s something special. It isn’t.
Thanks for this great video! I ordered the same exact watch from Jomashop, hoping to get the same exact experience. I’m a little nervous since it is shipping across the country. Hope it’s handled with care.
I'm stuck currently between 4 watches. An Omega seamaster 300m profession (blue or black), a Grand Seiko Snowflake, Grand seiko 4 seasons autumn, or a Omega Speed master 2021. Anybody want to help me out and give me their two cents on any of these watches XD
Thank you for the vid....I have been thinking long and hard about getting the grey version for ages! I currently have the previous seamaster pro ceramic and the 41mm case with 47 lug to lug is spot on for my 6.7inch wrist. It’s also slimmer. I’m going to an AD tomorrow to try on the new 42 and I’m terrified that it’ll be too big. I really, really want it to work for me! I just don’t want it to look oversized on my wrist.
That's understandable. Everyone's preference is a little different and it may or may not work for you. For me, the larger case size is something I have adjusted to. These days I can't seem to take it off, and I prefer it over my smaller pieces. I wish you luck on your shopping journey. ⌚👍🏻
@@thegreatgambino Many thanks 👍 I went and tried it on...I was amazed at how well it wears for a 50mm lug to lug! My fears were unfounded and I think I’m going to pull the trigger on the grey one. Keeping my current 41mm too as I’m a bit too attached to it mow to let go Keep up the great vids 👍
@@dakotamechelke7485 it has. I purchase the watch 6 months before I did the unboxing. This was a milestone watch for me and I was waiting for the special day. I paid just a hair under four grand shipped with tax. I'm sure if people hustle they can get a better deal but I'm happy with my purchase.
I thought the size was gonna be issue for me too until I actually went to ad and tried on, it's really not as big trust me. I have pretty small wrist but looked awsome.
