Hi there. Well blanking for big fish is common in the area’s I fish! Can catch plenty of whiting, dab and some small codling on the right tides but bigger fish other than smoothies and rays are not seen very often. At least you are fishing in a beautiful place. As for your casting that didn’t matter where you were, deep water you stated so distance not required. Maybe if you can get one a night session might be more productive mind you it might be a right kennel!! Just keep uploading and maybe do casting for beginners with low cost tackle, that would be great to watch. Don’t worry I found a £27 rod that is better than 80% of the anglers! Which did surprise me I admit! Kindest regards Bill
My mate and I traveled to different locations at the start. Antrim coast, Kerry Ring, Strangford lough down around Portavogie. All these places can be hit or miss but Donaghadee pier which was a 15 minute drive away give us the best for such a short trip, nine different species in one night ( we always fished at night around half tied with tied coming in and fished for around to 5 hours ) not big fish but always entertaining. Saying that, I caught something one night that give me such a bl**dy hard fight. I got it half in until it straightened my hook and got off; who knows what it was, short fight then heavy weight, short fight heavy weight lol we thought it was perhaps a conger. Camping stove for a fry up and coffee and a fire log lit to warm up hands. We were able to park on the end of the pier then 15 years ago. No Hassle from anyone, life was so good 🙂 Nice seeing vids of someone fishing around near my neck of the woods 👍
I went down there in August. While I was fishing for mackerel I threw a big bait out as far as I could on another rod. Fished fresh mackerel baits for about 2 hours but blanked. Crabs munched their way through it just. I have caught the odd doggy from there but that was about 10 years ago. There's millions of doggies round the Antrim coast so it's strange that they aren't as numerous in Belfast Lough.
Stevie well done lovely place to fish.! Don't get discouraged coz u blanked.! Try n try again you'll start catching n enjoying yourself. Have a good one buddy. And oh I started casting again will upload once I find out how to merge videos.
Just found out your channel mate awesome spot for fishing, I just have one question though do I need to buy a license for shore sea fishing, just moved to Belfast recently so I don't now much about the laws here.. Just found your channel and subscribed to it keep it up, tight lines 🤙🏻🤙🏻
No licence needed for shore sea fishing but technically if you catch a sea trout which there are a few round belfast lough you are supposed to return the fish to the sea.
@@djrmonix thank you for the reply and clarification on that question, fishing for me it's therapy it's more about enjoying a good day. Thanks brother 🙏🏻🙏🏻🎣🎣🎣. Mostly all I catch I release here don't now if there's sea bream, sheep's head here seen a couple of videos of sea bass but mostly is smooth hounds...
