its so funny how so many times before, Colin would always reference Penelope as "such a good friend" and in this episode, SO MANY PPL keep reiterating that same phrase to him and its KILLING HIM😭😭🤭EAT IT😭
I definitely noticed that too...She knew very well that he was talking about Penelope because she kept looking at Penelope when Colin was looking at Penelope! His mom knows what's going on....and I'm glad he has her support! Especially, the next day when his mother found him in his study and tried to talk to him some more about it....but he didn't want to talk about it which was actually kind of sad! And of course can't forget when his mother let him know about Penelope's proposal so he could get there in time to stop her from making the worst mistake of her life by marrying someone else that wasn't him! And, now he has his girl....all we gotta worry about now is the fact that he still has to find out that Penelope is LW....and....I'm kind of hating that moment....because how will he take the news....and even more exactly how is he going to find out????? Especially, when he told Eloise that he would ruin LW whenever he found out who she is....but he can't....won't be able to ruin Penelope....because he loves her....but I mean he most definitely will be mad! This show is nerve-racking,waiting for part 2....hurry up June 13....Thank God it's not too long of a wait....it will be next month....Thank God! Need to see how this all plays out!
@@EmotionalFlowerBloomingI think Penelope being LW is a lot different to Whistledown being some gossipy randomer trying to destroy his family and the Featheringtons. Her methods might've been flawed, but her intentions were to protect Colin and Eloise. Even going so far as to risk her own future to save him.
Eloise is being stupid. Cressida is trying to get them set up in style with Lord Debling. They get to live on a huge estate and he’ll be gone for years at a time. Cressida is trying to build y’all a love nest, Eloise!
i kept hearing FOR MONTHS about some carriage scene that happens in the book, so as soon as Colin opened that door, i knew what was about to go down, but i still wasn't FULLY prepared for that😭🤭
There’s a high possibility there’s going to be another carriage scene. In their video announcing S3 filming they used a different carriage. The potential carriage scene was in the books so fingers crossed!
I think the reason why people may be feeling like Colin and Pen are side characters is because we’re seeing this season from Penelope’s point of view, she has always felt like a side character to Colin. I don’t know if others have noticed this as well but I thought the balls so far this season looked abit darker and not as glowing and glamorous as they have done in other seasons and I also think this is because we’re seeing things as Penelope. She never feels like she sparkles in the room filled with others, she sees herself as the wallflower and it’s best to blend in and go unnoticed than be seen to ‘sparkle’. I’m really hoping we see a change as the season goes on, that things become brighter as Pen steps into her own and realise that she does ‘sparkle’ in her own way. Also as a side note, as a plus size girl I felt sooooo seen in this season and it was so nice to see Colin worship Pen in the carriage scene, down on his knees as he should! If Colin does not become the words of affirmation king that I know he can be, I will be upset 😂 Another side note… the way he lifted Pens dress up with certain fingers after his other fingers were *somewhere else* I see you Mr Bridgerton 👀
🎉🎉🎉 YEEEES!!! All of this! Though I would say the way they shot things was intentionally done to seem rosy tinted and romantic, especially compared to other seasons. Season 1 was stereotypical and fanciful, season two was grimy and passionate, but this first half of season 3 is super romantic and that works so well for Pens character who’s a major romantic. I never got the comments saying they felt Polin was a side quest so far, like yes there could’ve been more scenes with them but at the same time it never felt like they were on the back burner, especially with Colin basically worshipping her with his eyes on the side lines while trying to be someone he’s not. Your explanation does seem to hold up though and it also makes sense for Pens character.
Someone pointed out that at 34:42 he only uses some fingers to fix her dress, like he's purposefully making sure *not* to use the ones he fingered her with

In Penelope's defense, she probably froze when she saw the massive balloon coming at her. Some people's bodies freeze instead of activating fight or flight responses 😢
Yes, I remember my mom standing in front of a frying pan that was on fire, not reacting at all, while someone else pulled her away and I turned off the gas. My first question was, What the hell, Mom? Exactly. The only thing he is guilty of is someone who truly wasn't the greatest friend because he was making fun of her with those asses that were clearly implying that Penelope was undesirable. Also, him and Eloise seemed to never actually listen to her unless it was about them.

U dont have to reveal ur feelings to some1 for them to friendzone u. Its something can can happen automatically. Like he said last season, he wud never date Penelope. The entire idea was preposterous to him. That is being friend zoned. The only requirement is that there are 2 friends & 1 of them has unrequited feelings.
listen, ik that Pen isnt perfect, and what she did to Eloise was bad, but she was trying to save her cuz if you remember, the Queen thought that Eloise was whistledown and literally threatened to expose her and punish her if she didnt come forward (she would have punished her anyway), so Pen writing about Eloise was her way of trying to save her from the Queen. Was it the perfect solution, hell nah, but it wasnt of bad intentions
Yeah, everyone mad at Pen always forgets they don’t know the Queen like we do, or Lady Danbury does. She’s an intimidating figure and with one snap of her fingers she can ruin the Bridgertons. Take away all the titles and land and wealth, heck technically speaking she could imprison her for the rest of their lives or ship her off to Germany to be hung. Worse yet she promised dramatic punishment if Eloise didn’t step forward.
It was even more serious than that in my opinion. Eloise was engaging in very socially risky behavior by meeting up with a young man, Theo, unchaperoned, and a commoner at that. Even though we know that nothing happened, she would have been absolutely disgraced and could have brought ruin down on her entire family. Implying that Eloise was consorting with political radicals was the lesser of two evils.
She could have stepped forward and owned up to being Lady Whistledown. Writing about Eloise wasn't her only option if we're being honest. I like Penelope but I still think Eloise has every right to be angry at her I can't even imagine my best friend writing that stuff about me or even the things she has said about El's family and the societal implications. That being said, I do hope they make up because I really liked them as friends🤞🏾
@@laylaaliyu7216 I absolutely agree with you. For Penelope however, Whistledown represents the only source of power or sense of value she holds in this society. The man she loves doesn't see her, her family constantly pushes her down, and her only friend is quite self-absorbed and doesn't know or pay much true notice to her. Short of revealing her secret, she chose the least damning option when it came to Eloise. I don't think she made the right choices, and I don't blame Eloise for the deep hurt and betrayal she feels, but I can sympathize with Penelope to some extent.
To be fair, Penelope is so good at keeping secrets and hiding her feelings that her best friend Eloise doesn’t even know that she’s been crushing on Colin for years, so of course he wouldn’t notice either. 😅

Even though she got recasted, i thought the new actress did a great job as Francesca! Bridgertons needed that introvert sibling and she perfectly captured it. I also love that her love story is different from her siblings ❤
Agreed, I also find that she sometimes sounds like Daphne as well, and therefore fits in well with the Bridgertons. So I think overall it was a really good recasting!
Not Colin trying to taste Pen's lips by eating the same cake she had. (He bought the same after she left). You can see that in the actual episode when he stands looking at her talking to Dembling. He eats the cake while seeing her. Our boy is hungry for her lips, damn I want a Colin! ❤😂

Before nature guy realized Pen loved Colin, she was his first choice because he's the one who approached her. I think he entertained Cressida to be polite, but they both might be a good match. Cressida can be good when away from her family and once she gets a husband she can chill. I wonder what Lady Danbury's brother did for her to not want him around. Eloise is gonna lose it once she hears the news.
Yup. The way they wrote Debling always made him seem like an amenable match rather than someone Pen has an overflowing amount of chemistry with. The second they started to talk about what to expect in the future that ship burned for me as the light left Pens life. She’s too much of a romantic to truly be happy with a marriage of duty.
I think a big thing that kept Colin from seeing Pen as a romantic interest in the earlier seasons i don't see mentioned often is that he's 3 years older than her in the show and 5 in the book. It can be a big difference with youre young. now that she's 19 and him 22, it makes more sense for his view of her to change.
The way Violet and Marcus MIRROR each other slowly standing back up in that overhead shot as they meet! And she's the one to glance back first, and THEN he gives her the fastest little wink I've seen in my LIFE. YOUR LORDSHIP. I BLUSHED. Their plotline immediately became the thing I care most about in this entire show.
I think people are a little unfair to Collin when it comes to him 'friend zoning' Penelope. He had no idea that she was in love with him. At this point he thinks he is falling in love with his best friend, and has no idea if she could possibly feel the same. He is literally helping her find a husband. If he says how he feels and she doesn't feel the same it could ruin everything. Give the guy a break. Even last season when he said he would never court Penelope, it wasn't said because he doesn't think highly of Penelope. He genuinely thought they were just friends.

Few fans are confused how that kiss made Colin catch feelings for Penelope, well you'd be surprised by how a change in perspective can change your life. Also how dreams can intensify feelings. He always looked at Pen as Eloise's friend and the Bridgerton's opposite neighbour but after the kiss he started to see her in a different light. Remember this season she decided enough is enough she wants to get married so she's more open and carries a different vibe. The new flattering look helps as well 😍

This really happens irl too. In med school, a guy friend of mine was helping me get together with a guy on his soccer team who I had a crush on (kind of like Colin coaching Pen!). One night after a party, my friend walked me back to my apartment, and maybe because we were both a little drunk, we had this moment caught in each others eyes, and then we kissed. Kissed passionately. From that day onwards, I couldn’t stop thinking about him or that kiss, even though prior to that, I saw him only as a friend. I even had intense dreams about him. We ended up dating through med school! Crazy how one kiss can change your perspective on someone!!

Nah shit like that happens in real life all the time. I used to be annoyed at my ex boyfriend because I thought he didn’t take life seriously etc.. one night we were at work late and closing. I had to move this huge box which I could but he came and just said hey it’s okay I’ll do it. Did that, then offered to walk me to the train station. Waited until my train came. Checked in on me that I got home safe. It was a new side of him I never saw before. He didn’t even do it because he was romantically interested in me, he just did it coz he was a good guy. Shit had me so confused with my feelings for a while coz I went from hating him to catching feelings in just 2 hours. I asked him out a few weeks later and we dated for a whole year before I moved back home.
I agree about her trying to save Eloise, but I wish she would have warned her or asked first. Maybe there wasn’t time but I think Eloise is right to be upset. I just wish they would talk.

20:37 actually it makes perfect sense Colin feeling jealous seeing Penelope being courted by another man. Men are the pursuers in nature and Colin seeing Pen with Lord Debling turns on a competitive switch in his mind. She becomes more desirable to him as well. The quickest way for a woman to get a marriage proposal from a guy is to make him think that she has other options that are willing to marry her and if he doesn't propose now, another man will take her off the market. This is the energy behind this situation. 😅
God, the wait was worth it, it was completely romantic, tender, sexy, authentic, first season couple, faithful to love, Polin, I'm super happy. I was worried that Polin's kisses would be forced, but they exceeded my expectations every time I see the scenes, they give me chills, God. I cry because it is glorious, tender, sexy without losing the essence of friendship between them who have loved each other since they were children, it is magnificent. I look forward to the other 4 chapters but I am happy that there will be more beautiful moments.

I think you are being a little too hard on Colin. I get it, it can be frustrating, but i dont think Colin knew Penelope liked him from the beginning. He didn't know she had feelings for him, which is why he was so scared. thats why he asked his mom how do you know if it is reciprocated because he didn't know how Pen felt about him. Plus telling a friend, especially a best friend that you have feelings for them is not easy because he was probably scared that she would reject him and that he would lose their friendship.
Yeah Colin was not friendzoning Penelope for years, they were genuinely just friends/opposite neighbours 😂 Also he would have never known she liked him for years because Penelope wasn't expressing it.

Ugh I am so mad that they split this season up because I need the rest of this NOW! I admit, I wasn't that excited about Colin and Penelope (I'd rather see Eloise or Benedict's stories) but this season has been giving a lil bit 😂I also wish we would've gotten more of them together instead of Colin just lurking in the background trying to figure out his feelings but I guess the real drama is going to be what happens when he finds out Pen is Whistledown! ALSO I said this on the last vid but PLEASE finish Queen Charlotte!!! In fact do a whole rewatch idc idc idc it's the best thing to come from this show!
