The one part that gets me is in the bad ending. Seeing Kel finally break like that. Crying while asking “Why does this keep happening to us” is almost more powerful than Sunny’s smile.

Kel is more sunny then Sunny himself

"Kel is relieved that Sunny had his knife, but then he realizes... he has a knife." I love this, like Kel is seeing the positive in everything before processing wait no this is a bad thing.

Everyone bashes on Kel when he's the real MVP here. Both in the real world AND in headspace! Digging up free items through the trash in the junkyard and providing nukes in battle. ... And gambling your money away in the Last Resort but hey ya can't blame him, he's still a doofus!

Not to mention the fact he ‘blocked out’ what hero was saying. Blocking things out can often be a trauma response, which makes the situation even darker.

If it weren't for our boi, Sunny wouldn't have even exited the house in the first place.

I used to be such a loner in school until somebody with that Kel energy came up to me and we just started being friends. I swear I love Kel.

Kel is the best character

It always gets me how people say Kel 'moved on too fast' or even didn't care about Mari's death. In reality, I'm sure Kel was just as affected as everyone else. The reason he seems so well rounded and optimistic even after such events is because he worked through his grief and eventually was able to move on. He found a new group of friends and kept living his life. This isn't because he pushed it all aside. Remember, it's a 4-year time jump. In reality, he worked through his grief in a healthy way.

You have no clue how happy it makes me to see Kel finally get the appreciation he deserves. My dude literally carried the true/good route.

I disagree with kel moving on from mari’s death somewhat fast. What some people might do with bad events is to just distance yourself from it all. It’s a way to ignore the problem as you essentially turn your back to it. That is why instead of clinging to his old friends he went on and made new ones, and why it seems like he moved on fast

Before watching the video: When I first saw a playthrough of Omori, I always thought that Kel was a literal angel that saved Sunny from his fate. I wasn't really in the best place back then, and I wished I had someone like him in my life... Now things are better thankfully. It wasn't a person in particolar that saved me... Maybe I started to be more like him? I certainly have way more friends now.

I often refer to Kel as the Superman of Omori. A Shot in The Dark. Despite his (Very obvious) Smiling Depression, he doesn't care about himself, or about what happens to him. He only cares to see his friends good and fine, no matter the cost to him or the future. I think that, of all the friends, he is the only who would truly forgive Sunny without a thought, despite everything. He would be the only one who would catch up that it was an accident. While Kel isn't very perceptive, he is very understanding after processing everything, and he will do anything for his friends, especially Sunny. While for Sunny, Kel is not his best friend, for Kel, i truly think he considers Sunny his best Friend (Not suggesting more than a Friend but wink wink notch notch), and he will do anything for him. Also, did you notice that Sunny is the only one that Kel truly opens up and in the Neutral Ending, he is the one who Kel goes to ask for help to understand why...that happened? Also, did you notice that Kel in Headspace is kind of a jerk? I think this is because Sunny is self-conscious that Kel is the only one who can truly help him, and that's why he made him a big jerk, in order to not go out.

the way Kel recovers from Mari's death is really special to me, because I relate alot. Tried to stay optimistic and pushing away my own feelings to help others dealing with, in my case my grandmother's death. Now, when it's brought up, I'm always on the verge of tears because I rarely ever think about it because I push it away.

What really breaks me is the fact that Kels birthday was right after maris death.

20:45 a way to win the hooligans/aubreys gang fight is to grab a pepper spray before going out to find basil and when the fight begins, select fight, toys and pepper spray which has an alternate dialogue for winning but the outcome is still the same but you get an achievement. Edit: the pepper spray is in kels moms purse at the dining table

I think we all need a kel in our life

I feel like the reason why Kel is so immature and reckless in Headspace is partially because as a kid, he just *was* immature and reckless, but also because Sunny didn’t really have the strongest friendship with him. Sunny adored Mari (also she was his sister), had a crush on Aubrey, looked up to Hero like a big brother (evidence: saying “wow” about certain things Hero does), was best friends with Basil, but wasn’t really remarkably close with Kel in the real world until 3 days left, which might be why he’s kind of a nuisance in Headspace, even though that might not actually be what he was like in real life.

ALSO kel's bday (november 11) was only a few months away after mari died, so the funeral was prob held a month or two after her death and nobody came to or prob even acknowledged his bday :(

i really understand kels struggle to read and help other people. ive always been someone that really likes to help people. but, im really bad at reading tone and setting boundaries, which has lead to me getting myself into some pretty traumatizing situations. its so frustrating, trying and failing over and over to be a good friend, to be someone good and reliable, without understanding why. how to fix it. poor kel is just trying his best. and even though he isnt always good at helping, he still deserves recognition for what good he does. i mean, the good ending wouldnt even be possible without his persistance and care. hes the type of friend that doesnt come by often, and he deserves to be cherished.

What’s even more heartbreaking is the fact that Sunny is just standing there, letting them talk about her suicide, but of course, that’s not the case…

Kel avoided the problem by ignoring it. He moved away, made new friends, went into sports. He did everything but did not work through the injury, continuing to smile. This undoubtedly crippled him. He tries to smile and stay positive so that his friends won't be sad, and so he seems to have recovered quickly from Marie's death. But in reality, he simply sealed away the negative emotions and he didn’t allow himself to live through the trauma properly. Because of his smile and positivity, he is not taken seriously and this hurts him. Kel is wounded just like the others, but he doesn't let it out with aggression like Aubrey, or lies depressed like Hiro. He simply forbade himself to be negative and it looks painful. I really liked this video, it's got some good points in it and I like the humor. However, I feel like a lot of the parts that were just summarizing the plot could have been left out in favor of focusing on kels character more. At times it felt more like a general commentary.
